I was a General Contractor for 35 years and I can tell you your prep work for the slab was outstanding. Templates for the bolt placement is so important for ease of building erection. Concrete is very unforgiving so attention to detail before the placement is super critical. Everything looked really clean. Saw cutting was a very good investment and infinitely better than hand troweled joints. All that said, don’t be surprised if you get some minor unexpected cracking. Concrete has three properties: Its gray, its hard, and it cracks. I supervised the construction of a 100,000 sf vehicle maintenance facility and I would highly recommend a concrete sealer (it can be mixed with color if you want) after the concrete cures to facilitate the ease of cleanup after gas and oil spills. As concrete is very porous, a sealer is the best investment you can make for retaining the appearance of the concrete. It should be cheaper than an epoxy coating.
    Great work!

I was in the Army in Hawaii 1973-1976, yes I am an old man but the best times of my life were on the beaches of Oahu North Shore. My little detached shop, 30X38 is puny but I am into Motorcycles not hot cars, lol. Be safe, have fun from Southeast Georgia. One big suggestions when that shop is done dont cut corners go ahead and epoxy the floor, you will thank yourself a thousand times.

That lasted 10 minutes then back to red hot. That happened twice the week we were there.

Another great video from LSH! Concrete is still in high demand so this wasn’t cheap. Here in Indianapolis the State is attaching I-69 to I-465 (finally) and laid asphalt then concrete on top to save concrete (and money). The difference in concrete colors on your driveway though would drive my perfectionist self crazy. I’d have to hire someone to do a texture on top of all of it to get it to match. It’s only money 😂

I didn't see the family or the kids put the hand prints somewhere in the concrete? It looks fantastic! Congrats on getting the pad and ready to keep going bud! I also didn't see any floor drains or conduit in the edge of your building for your electrical and water? Have fun and don't work to hard!!

Awsome shop. If ur concrete gets cracks in it it's from them wetting it while pouring and while finishing. That stuff was setting up way too fast. Normally start a pour that size in that heat well before sunrise. It's funny they charged extra to cut joints. Doing them by hand would have been very difficult and made their job much harder

With you living in Texas your concrete costs less then here in Pa. as We use a minimum of 5.5" driveway slab because of the frost heave. I also noticed that they pour more watered down concrete in Texas where ours in thicker which I was told it made the concrete stronger.
