OUTSTANDING, sir!! Love the afternoon scrap fires!! Built 3 3200+sq ft houses in the foothills of VA , spent ALOT of time by myself working in the woods....nuth' in like it! Retired @ the beach now!! THNX for the memories!! ps still own the 4 bay shop I operated in for 36 yrs as a " day job"
My old boss has a shop with direct burial 6x6s and its roughly almost 50 years old on the original section and it's still standing strong. That being said, if you can afford the sonotubes and post brackets, definitely go that route. Alaskan slab(monolithic slab) works great too.
Yeah, those are great options for sure. I started build this type of building with my Dad when I was about 8. Those buildings are now 35 years old and still going strong. This building will outlive me.
Awsome overview of what it took to get this project finished! Just think of all of the knowledge that your son picked up from helping you out with this! Something to be proud of!
Thanks for the kind comment. It is hard not to feel like your bragging when you share this stuff on YT, but my goal is to help and encourage people to get out and make stuff happen!
Shop looks great, you guys did a good job, I know you're proud of your shop, I had one built in 2012, the year I retired, 32×36 ,all metal, good luck with your future projects, like the VW!
Wow that's cool! Awesome building guys. I'm thinking about building one to. With lumber framing and, galvanized corrugated steel sheeting on the out side. To keep the build super low budget.
In Finland we would never ever build like that. All wood that is touching the ground will rot, get mold and all kinds of nastyness. Also wood inside concrete a strong no-no. And will the ground carry the slab? Are you sure? Taking just a little ground off from the top is not enough. Here it is mantory to survey the ground by drilling first.
Just let this man build how he wants to build. Got too many yall damn people in this world that gotta whine about not following governmental made up horse crap to satisfy their overpaid "job"... yall go get boosted for the 100th time while trying to figure out what's a woman and leave the normal folks alone... great vid by the way.
Thank you! We went after it! The structure took us just a couple weeks working afternoons and weekends, but we had to wait for warm weather again to pour concrete. It all came together pretty quickly. Thanks for the kind words!
Man I have nothing but good things to say congratulations on your garage I love just saying projects like this the skill the time The Blood The Sweat The Tears that everything congratulations again on your build I hope that you enjoy it😊😊😊
That was awesome. You should start a project using materials from that mill across the street to build a chain wall against that hill. Would hate to see all that work wiped out by a landslide
Awesome! Congrats on a job well done. I hope that you enjoy the extra space and can manage at least a few years before you fill it all up and want to make another garage for space, haha.
Came out great and yall made it look fun and easy. I was wondering how you reinforced the floor for the lift posts? Didn't look like you poured extra deep concrete but I did see the extra gravel when you brought the Kubota in there and scraped it before the concrete came. Could you please explain how that works? Also what are the floor coatings for that nice white finish? I love a bright clean floor. No lost fasteners! Thank you very much.
Thanks! Yeah, it is 5” concrete everywhere else and 7” in the lift area. That extra gravel is because we actually had that area too deep. It is also fiber reinforced 4,000psi mix.
Looking forward to living in my dream house! Thank you, Ryan's, for not only the initial support with your special but ongoing support through my build! ruclips.net/user/postUgkxe81Bz076USDt6sYU1rDcNa2LwCIKADgB Experience has been amazing so far! Made the process easy.
Here is a cost breakdown. ruclips.net/video/CTLXNdGcpyk/видео.html They make openers for those roll up doors and I’ve also seen them retrofitted with a bicycle sprocket and use a traditional chain opener. I haven’t done anything with mine yet.
And some of the issues you guys were facing I could see the smart ideas y’all came up with to get everything goin easier like sliding up the peak roof joints up on the 2x4s that was awesome!
Great garage, I wish I had one for me. My only question is: why wood poles directly in the ground? Wood, even treated, will eventually rot when in contact with the soil. You put so much love, effort and money on concrete floors, walls and roofing, so why not use concrete pads and steel brackets for the support poles too, thus keeping them above ground? Maybe even I-beam, if cost allows. Love it anyways!
This absolutely brilliant. One question, what was the white paint you put on the concrete floor? Did you cure the concrete? This is absolutely beautiful. Thank you very much for sharing.
We let the concrete cure for a month before coating. It was called epoxy seal. I regret doing white because it simply will not clean up. If I had it to do over I would use a different product coating on the floor…
I can't believe that whole thing only took 12 minutes to build! Super cool fellas.
Lol. Thanks for watching!
Magic..😂😂😂

Thanks! We are huge Cleetus fans! We’re getting to work on some projects in there now!
Awesome! You’re lucky your son wants to help and spend time with you.
Absolutely! Thanks for the comment!
Awesome that you guys got to build a shop. It’s soooo nice working in one vs out in the open.
That lift is EVERYTHING!! Congrats!!!
It’s been my dream for sure! Thanks for watching!
Truly happy for y'all. That's pure happiness there. May it last you many many years.

Great job and what a fine shop in the end. I would say these guys had a little construction experience.
Guys that shop is BA!!!!! Love it! You guys did an awesome job!!!
Thank you!
Very very cool. You guys have done a great job, and I look forward to future projects in the garage! Great time lapse video!!!

How much it cost to build a building Iike That one.?
@@edwinguevara1797 $22,500 was the total for everything and just for concrete and frame was $11,300 - he has a video about the price breakdown
Very nice, now i’ve learned how to build garage and will gonna build 25 of these in your neighborhood.
Hell yeah! I play the lotto just so one day I can have a shop like this.😆
If I were to build my own dream shop. It would be identical! Good work
I know that's got to be rewarding...just prop up your feet, sip a cool drink, and watch this over and over! Well done Lucas and family!

Green treated doesn’t mold
Its not eternal even if green treated. Anyhow here we do not put wood in contact with ground in any form. Just a practise.
In Canada, you ensure wood doesn’t touch cement or the ground (use metal fasteners/brackets).
@@DovidMosheYes it does. It only takes longer😂.

That is an Amazing job, Id Love to have a shop like that for my wood shop AMAZING BUILD
Thank you!
That was cool . I wish I had a few friends that could help me do that . I'd build one in a heartbeat. I'm always by myself makes it hard sometimes.
My son made this possible for sure. I couldn’t have done it alone. We had a few church friends help with the concrete too. Makes all the difference!
Really enjoyed watching all the videos in the series but it was nice to see this quick overview. Well done! Congratulations! The shop looks amazing!

You didn't need to dig down for the base of the garage?

Nice garage ! how many dollars it cost approximately ? Thanks you
How big is this poleshed and what size role up doors?
28x36x12 with 9x8 roll up doors.
@@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead what was the reasoning for the extra concrete in the middle? Hoist?
@@Franisboche Yeah, we wanted thicker concrete to anchor the lift. Just to be safe...

Ball Park figure on this setup? shop, concrete? anyway to make those roll up doors mechanical or have to add regular garage doors for remote control?

Спасибо большое за видео!
Очень классно и быстро.

Wow. It would be a dream for me.
It is for us too. We could never have had it if we didn’t do all of the work ourselves….
Did you install a concrete pad or at least gravel in the hole before setting the poles? Did you install "x" bracing per your truss shop drawing?
Well done you! Q: What would you estimate the whole thing cost, without fixtures and lift?
The kit was $12k and concrete was $2800 so $15k for supplies
