This video brought tears to my eyes. My father just recently passed away and his garage has over 35 years worth of stuff in it. I'm preparing to clean out & remodel his garage and came across your video. I commend you for the excellent job you have done. I love the way you incorporated your father's tools, keys and locks into the remodel. That was so thoughtful. Now I plan on doing something similar to honor my Dad. Thank you so much for sharing this.
Thumbs up just for the blackout tools from your dad being thrown in. I only have one daughter and cherish every minute I can with the hope that I make a impact on her the way your dad has for you.
Let me tell you......out of my 3 children, I could see my daughter Rosanne (36) someday take my tools (now 61) and do what you have done. Out of my children, Rosanne has always been my "carpenters helper". Your father is smiling down on you........this I know!!!! Great Job!
I've decided to give my garage a makeover and started researching RUclips. Your video is the best one, very creative and I love every detail. Thanks for sharing.
I spent all weekend starting to organize my garage and began searching videos for ideas. To save a long drawn out comment, you motivated me a lot!! Just the opportunity to re-do the electrical and conveniently install more outlets is motivation enough for me to re-do the walls. Thanks for the video!
That was fantastic!!! Being a bloke, a garage being nice has never occurred to me, just functional. You have given me a lot of ideas. Love spraying old tools and making them into a feature.
Your creativity using your Dads belonging touches my heart! I truly admire your creativity and feel your loss! OMG and your garage is Freakin AMAZING!!! I need this in my life!
My Dad died two years ago and so my siblings and I just finished going through his messy garage and kind of "organizing" his lifetime collection of tools and whatnots. I mean what a MESS. A lot of his tools were his father's, and a lot of them are tools that today I would never use. Antiquated, broken, rusty, worn out...etc. But, no way can I ever get rid of any of them. Every time I pick one up I am reminded of him and how much I miss him. Painting them black and displaying them like you did is really a good practical idea. To start tearing out cabinets, benches, walls, and attics is a huge commitment; and I have to say you did a fantastic job on your dream shop.
Thank you so much, glad you enjoy it. Ever time I see the tools on the wall I’m reminded of my dad as well! I love hanging out in the garage for that reason. Anyway of memorializing a loved one with their items, I think is cool. Thanks for watching and commenting
I hope I'm not sexist but damn, I've been watching numerous of these project videos (all done by men) and this one video I saw beat everysingle one of them out of the planet! She is so creative! Her deco and ideas fused with like a practical/functional work space is something I never even considered could be POSSIBLE! Iam beyond amazed. Especially with that table made of keys 🤯
Wow! This comment just made my day! So glad you dig what I created in my garage, it was definitely a labor of love! Thank you so much for all your kind words! Your the BEST!
As a fellow diy-er and garage enthusiast, this renovation turned out incredible. Love the design touches and quality products chosen. Happy to be a new subscriber.
Wow, I have my dads detached double garage too. Im hoping for a paint sprayer for my birthday. The garage looks like your before. I wondered what to do with all the keys and old tools. Now I know. Beyond amazing. Yes, your dad would be so proud of you and happy for you.
Absolutely stunning transformation!! I’m buying my first house, at age 53, and I’ve been worrying myself silly about the work I am planning for my little garage, but watching this gives me hope that I can do it!
I LOVE how you transformed those old tools into decor and frames. I bought a Wagner paint sprayer to redo our kitchen cabinets and aren’t they the best thing ever? Watching this makes me want to paint our garage in the spring! This your garage is a total dream workshop. Well done and congrats! Looking forward to seeing what cool creations you make there.
Love how you incorporated all your dad's tools back into the design. Such an amazing transformation, and it has inspired me to make some changes in my own shop!
Wow! You did a amazing job and being a father myself who’s spends tons of time in the garage, I can honestly say that your dad would be very proud of you!
IDK why I'm just now discovering your amazing garage make-over, RUclips.........anyway, WOW !!! I know y'all are proud of such a great accomplishment. Incorporating your dad's tools into your design and also including ur husband's surf board storage, such amazing ideas. I know your dad would be very proud, you now have a new subscriber, thanks for sharing such a wonderful transformation. "It's ok to look back and learn from the past, but always keep moving forward"
Thank you so much friend, stoked you like my content. That garage is definitely a labor of Love and I’m sure my dad can see. Thank you again friend for the kind words
I ran across your video again as I am in the process of building a new shop myself. I really like the contrast of your white/black paint scheme. It "pops". Also, the whiteboard caught my eye this time around. I'll definitely be incorporating that into my new build. That will be great for mat'l list, sketches, jotting down dimensions, spontaneous revisions to plans, etc. Genius! My male mentality wouldn't have thought of "you know what I need in this shop? You have inspired me to incorporate something aesthetically pleasing into my build. And I'll modify last year's comment. GREAT job! It looks amazing. Love your table saw.
You did such an amazing job transforming this space into the workshop of your dreams! So cool! You made everything feel so approachable and the end results speak for themselves!
Amazing and a work of love that you father will be so proud of the extra mile. You did not just go ahead & start painting a floor and then adding a couple of shelves. Would love a garage like this 10 out 10
Wow, I am speechless, and that’s doing something. I came here at the suggestion of Travis from Shop Nation. I will be subscribing. There is no doubt your father would be proud of you & your husband. You’ve created a treasure that honors your father and keeps his legacy going forward. Everything you did with his tools, locks, keys etc just made me smile, and to be honest a little misty eyed. The best I can sum this transformation up is as a working breathing time capsule. You are an absolute master at what you’ve done. I have every reason to believe you will start getting requests to repurpose spaces like your garage in other peoples basements, garages or out buildings. I guess I’m not totally speechless but you’ve buried the needle on the wow factor. Keep up the great work and keep climbing the hills. The view from the top is breathtaking. I salute you.
I don’t think i can do this makeover by myself, but i can definitely appreciate this work of art. Brilliant, in one word. And of course, thanks for sharing
Amazing! So inspiring too. This makes me want to run out to my mom and dads “art studio” and clean it out and start the work we’ve always dreamed of. Also what a cool way to save your dads tools and have them there even if they aren’t being used. I love this as my dad is gone and I have so many of his tools and fishing stuff, he was an artist and a surfer too so I think he would appreciate something like that. I’ll have to think about some ideas. Can’t wait for more videos. Just in 14 minutes I was more inspired than I am by a lot of videos I’ve seen. Thanks.
Here in Australia shop's are called sheds, and you've really done your dad's memory proud, my daughter and I are always sparring over my shed and passion for good tools, now a new subscriber here, love what you've achieved apart from the DIY electrical, it's illegal in all states in Australia for good reason
My wife needed a creative space. I figured the garage was a great idea. Seeing this vid gave me the motivation to get it done for her. From one carpenter to another. Great job! Side note i hope my girls end up honoring me like you did your dad. I wish you all the best!
I feel your love towards your dad and I imagine lots of preparing have went into your wonderful garage. I wish I had your skills too. I just bought a book on how to do electrical wiring myself. Bravo from Japan!!
the editing at the begining was the coolest thing ever, you really took advantage of the garage door and I generally think your editing is *chefs kiss I also really really enjoy how fast you talk because it's so refreshing (and slow af talking or no voiceover at all makes me restless lol). I just really love what you packed into this video and the end result is extremely satisfying and looks so functional while also looking super neat and pretty
Damn! You crushed it Lindsay! You totally covered the same aesthetics I want in my shop. Black and white! It looks SO good. This video really motivates me to get going on my shop Reno! Thanks! Keep crushing is! And of course. CHEERS!
Omg!! This is so inspiring! I’m a DIY chick as well, and my garage is a bleeping mess!! You “explicit” killed!! I’m so proud of you, and I know you dad is too!! I’ve only got 3 years worth of bullshit 🤭 in my garage, so to see you tackle 40 YEARS worth of pile up, is nothing short of motivational!! Way to go babes!! Im doing my garage ASAP, and maybe that’ll be my first post as “Jill of all trades”! Thank you a million times for this Queen!! Someone needs to send you a thrown and crown for this!! 🙏🏽😘🥰👑👑👑
GREAT JOB!!! You made the right choice by not insulating. Insulation is pointless without A/C & heat, in fact, it would make it worse by holding the heat inside during summer, and cold in during winter.
Honestly the temperature has been great in the garage I did add a heater but it’s for when I do epoxy so that I could really control the temperature but I still stand behind my decision to not insulate, thanks for agreeing, thanks for watching and commenting!
Daaaamn, this is just amazing! I started following you on Instagram when you were halfway through this project. Seeing the before just motivates me sooo much! You truly transformed it into the perfect Workshop! Love it!
Great makeover, love the colors! Fine summary of the work going on over a longer period. A big big job) Cool idea with the old tools spray painted as decoration
By far my favorite makeover, and I’ve seen a lot. Also - I knew it was real when she was moving the fridge and didn’t completely make a clear path first. I do that all the time.
Excellent job! I retired in June and am remodeling my home room by room now. The garage project starts this weekend. That's what lead me here. Great Inspiration! BTW, my favorite shirt to wear say's, "I'll be in the Garage".
That’s awesome. Congrats to hear on the next project being the garage. Also love that idea of having a shirt say that I will definitely be looking for one.
Wow!! How impressive! I can relate to you in so many ways. I lived in Dana Point, CA for 26 years and I have a ton of stuff that I have accumulated over the years. In fact, my garage looked pretty similar to yours before the renovation. I got a lot of great ideas from you. You definitely inspired me to incorporate some of your upgrades into my new home. We bought a brand new house and I want to keep it beautiful. After seeing your video, I will also incorporate a lot of my Dad's tools into my workshop as well. Thank you so much!!
That’s amazing to hear thank you so much I’m glad that you enjoyed the video and took away some inspiring things for your garage keep me updated on your progress.
I stumbled on your video as I just bought a house and have to go through the same process. It just amazes me the talent and knowledge you have to do all this work yourself, truly astonishing great work very inspiring!
Very nice renovation ! The lighting really works well and has given me inspiration for my own garage. Sometimes it can be very hard declutterring a garage , believe me I know.
That sounds like my garage. I hired to big strong men and as they cleaned it out, I basically sorted to a pile of save and the rest went on their trailer for the dump. I had tried selling some of the stuff and there was no one interested. Rather than keep junk, I sent it to the dump.
I wish you wouldn't have painted your dad's old tools black. If it was me I would've cleaned them up and not painted them to retain that used look. But that's only my opinion that doesn't matter much at all. Amazing job regardless!
Thanks friend I went back-and-forth on it I do still have a good amount of his tools that I can actually use these were all ones that were duplicates and I wanted to be able to memorialize them, thanks for watching and commenting
Nice job!! I am working on remodeling a garage workshop that was from my dad. I hard to let things away, but this is a very good example of mooving on, and make something good with you have. I do some woodwork mysef so the video was very close to me. Thank you very much for sharing!!! Greatings from Argentina
Love hearing that you took some fun stuff away from my video, I’d love to see the progress you make on your garage if you’re on Instagram, send me a photo
That was an amazing transformation. I really like how you created some art from your father's old tools and taking care of your hub's surf boards too. Nice that you also had the place out back you could store all your stuff into while you redid it all. That was one massive root.
Im a grown man and father that just had to clean out his dads shop this video got me a little bit. Great work on tying in pieces of him into the remodel .
That was amazing. Probably the best garage Reno I have seen. I'm and artist / woodworker so your makeover hit all the things I'm looking for. Great job. love the aesthetic with the black and white.
Incredible transformation. Working in masonry I don't have the energy to put in that much work in my spare time but seeing this process is motivating. Maybe one day! Great job!
I'm 74, wish I had seen this 40 years ago. Thanks so much.
You got it 😉
40 years ago there was no RUclips !!!
Do it anyway!!! 💪🏽
Lol, my dad's garage is much bigger than this garage. And I'm cleaning it up to give it a makeover. Just looking up ideas.

I ran across your video again as I am in the process of building a new shop myself. I really like the contrast of your white/black paint scheme. It "pops".
You deserve to have millions of views in this video!
Thank you so much that means a lot to me
Looks beautiful!!! Gave me ideas for my own shop :) Thank you!!!
That’s great to hear
This is insane, this channel deserves far more subs- Can’t wait to see the growth and what’s next 🙏🏾
Wow thank you that means a lot to me.
I stumbled on your video as I just bought a house and have to go through the same process. It just amazes me the talent and knowledge you have to do all this work yourself, truly astonishing great work very inspiring!
Thank you so much friend. Congrats on the new house. I’m sure whatever you do with your space will be amazing.
I just lovet the idea of old tools painted in black! superb idea! I think i´m going to use that! in my office!
Heck yeah! Do it…. Thanks for watching friend
Amazing transformation, my dad would cry if he saw all those tools being used for decoration though lol
Same with mine 😜
"The root of the problem" 😂😂😂 was that intended
😜 I have dad jokes
@@wood_brain as a dad, I can appreciate that haha
Insanely nice!
Very inspiring🙏🏽
Thank you so much
Amazing! LOVE the black tools accents ❤
Thank you so much
Very nice renovation ! The lighting really works well and has given me inspiration for my own garage. Sometimes it can be very hard declutterring a garage , believe me I know.
This isn't a garage, it's a studio. I wish I had the time and motivation to do this.
Thanks friend
Damn, wish i had enough money to buy that many tool boxes at once, let alone rebuild the whole garage in just one year. Poor people problems..
I put everything I had into it, and would do it all over again
the problem is, your garage is full of stuff you can actually use, sell, give away, etc. MY garage is full of trash that we can't use 😂
You never know one’s persons junk is another persons treasure
That sounds like my garage. I hired to big strong men and as they cleaned it out, I basically sorted to a pile of save and the rest went on their trailer for the dump. I had tried selling some of the stuff and there was no one interested. Rather than keep junk, I sent it to the dump.
When you can't put cars in to garage.. then something is wrong
I'm currently doing this to a 2,400 sq. ft. barn. You have some great ideas here. Thanks for sharing,
Wow that’s a big space how’s it going for you? glad you like the video thank you for watching and commenting
That ceiling opener. WOW
I know right! 🫶🏼
You are amazing
Thanks buddy! Your pretty amazing too
I wish you wouldn't have painted your dad's old tools black.
Drinking game. Take a shot everytime she says "Let me tell you..."
🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for watching and commenting Robert, it was definitely a labor of love to get it to that point.
Wow!!! You take the word "helpmate" to another level! Great job. Question: Do you have a sister and is she single? 😂
🥰 honored by that .... thanks friend, and no unfortunately I’m an only child 😉
Im a grown man and father that just had to clean out his dads shop this video got me a little bit. Great work on tying in pieces of him into the remodel .
Thank you so much I really appreciate it. Definitely not an easy task to go through a loved ones things.
That is one of the most incredible things that I have ever seen. Completely inspiring. Thank you for sharing this with us!
Why thank you friend that means a lot to me!
That was amazing. Probably the best garage Reno I have seen. I'm and artist / woodworker so your makeover hit all the things I'm looking for. Great job. love the aesthetic with the black and white.
Thank you so much friend glad you enjoyed it from one Artist to another 😉
Incredible transformation. Working in masonry I don't have the energy to put in that much work in my spare time but seeing this process is motivating. Maybe one day! Great job!
I totally get it Eric, masonry is no joke,… you got this though… little bits of work over time add up… keep me posted on your progress.
