Your experience with this house is much more positive than mine and many others! They made every excuse, including blaming the shipping company! They speak of honor but have none.
    That is my experience.

Good video. I've had good and bad with Nepal khukuri companies. Kailash Blades has done me pretty good overall.

That’s cool that they took care of you. I have one of their jungle panawal khukri’s and it’s been great. I have a OEF Defender’s on order. Hopefully it’s a good one. I may get one of those Bowie’s next.

Most of the traditional kukri knives have wood and leather sheaths I’m assuming that one is just a lower quality knock off but the knife looks amazing I love the polished finish too

Yeah they had options for nicer sheaths, I just went with the cheapo that comes with it

Not a knock off, this is typical of KHHI quality. They love to send ringers to high volume reviewers but garbage to everyone else.

One of my kh blades had blue on the blade showing it was burnt by over heating during the grinding. Also the info showed that the maker finished school at grade 5. Id have no problems if he quit school at grade 5 and was making knives since then, but deff not the case. Also, 40$ shipping. So for 300$... meh.

It's a knife it's for cutting meat and chopping wood it's not breaking bar

Agreed, it's a tool designed for a specific job. But when you make a 1/4" thick, 3 pound Bowie knife... it should certainly hold up to prying dead wood. I've got Walmart kitchen knives that would do better than the first Bowie did.

    Did it come sharp?

The second one came much sharper than the first. But both were duller than I'd like. Easy enough to touch up though.

Don't bother with high price knives, just get yourself a Mossy Oak Bowie and I promise you will love it. I own two of them and would love to have another one. Mine cut through very large branches without changing the blade edge at all.

Growing up I broke so many of those cheap Bowie's. I've found that most of the time you get what you pay for, but not always. Also there seems to be a point of diminishing returns.
An $80 knife will probably be significantly better than a $20 knife, but a $300 may not be too much better than the $80 knife. If that makes any sense. But to each their own 😁

@@hillbillydude I agree with you. $80ish price range probably best bang for buck on average. Although i will say one of my best bowies ever is a $30 knife, the Western Outlaw by Timber Rattler. 1/4" thick blade, full tang beast. I went nuts chopping (and batoning) for like 2 straight years with that thing, and it has stayed true... I finally gained so much respect for the thing I've stopped abusing it. It has nothing more to prove. But anyways, yeah KHHI... I've got a few pieces from them, and they seem to bat around .500 at best... It's too bad because they make BEAUTIFUL *looking* blades, and it's super cool how they do everything by hand and everything... But yeah for whatever reason they are inconsistent with the heat treat (or maybe accidentally use mild steel?)
Anyways, thanks for the vid, good stuff, God bless.
