Best video ever !! Brother ?? If I had seen this video , and only this video about the topic at hand , I would be so freakin pissed off that some numb nuts would actually put down the Khukuri House . That is insane !!! They have made me some truly fine pieces of cutlery . I will defend them all day and twice on Sunday!! But …. ( huge BUT ), I’m a collector . As a collector I like to branch out and give these other companies a shot . And the ones I mentioned ( the Fox Knives , MASERIN , and Lion Steel ) are not as popular with the knife community such as Buck , Cold Steel , KHHI , Condor , KaBar , Gerber , Hibben , Pohl , Ontario , etc etc . Try to focus on the not so famous companies. Again - using KH was an example . True that most knife companies all use the same type of steel in most cases so saying KH needs more variety was a harmless statement. They really do !! They have the means . Don’t take it out of proportion. People need to see that video and then they can make judgement. Don’t just call someone an idiot without knowing the facts . Again …. My own personal experience as a collector, my time spent with KH has pretty much run it’s course . Never in a million years would I say “ Don’t Buy From KH “!! That is the most untrue statement I’ve ever heard !!! I know you and I cleared things up but for the rest of the community, they need to be schooled on what was actually said . I had to watch that video 7 times !! No I don’t like the sound of my own voice but I had to watch over and over just to see where I would disrespect KH . Did it come out the wrong way ??????? I 've been telling everyone that it was ok. It's not what was said as much as how it came across. I guess it later irked people because the comment of if you have one, you have them all, then posted a vid on H&R(as you know, one of my favorites) that uses all the sames steel and most are stag/bone. So people were thrown that you said it about KHHI then glorified it with H&R. I had to leave for a movie during the vid so I REALLY need to finish that. I was asked if I saw the "etched" one in you vid. It must be later because I missed it and now I need to know! Haha!

Oh it's you two? Oh brother bury the hatchet water under the bridge. I will say this cowboy, I own about 18 pieces from KHHI and while I kind of get your point it, they make varying degrees of kukris that are nothing alike. I have a full tang dotted supreme, a modern kukri with a rubber handle and fusion tang (Marshal) and a SiruPate (slender) stick tang model. These three kukris are so different in weight/style/function it's not even comparable. So to say they are all the same would be offensive to KHHI kamis, I think that's where dbad got a bit peeved. In any case, maybe just a little miscommunication.

I saw the video you are talking about yesterday and I have to admit that I found it perplexing that he would say that. I personally don't mind getting knives from the same place that use the same materials because I will know what to expect from them. I hope that this will all get cleared up and he will reach out and try to make things right because you have given a lot of support his way and its only right
I am certainly no knife expert and my "Rambo days" are long gone...lol. However, after watching Last Blood and ordering me and my youngest brother the Heartstopper, I was surfing RUclips and found your channel. I then saw your video where you unveiled the DBAD JOHN J TRIBUTE knife. I had to have one...so I ordered it and waited about a month to receive it. It is beauty and badazz all wrapped into one. I own at least one of every Rambo movie knife (by manufacturers such as HCG, UC, EU repros, etc) and I can say with 100% certainty that the JOHN J TRIBUTE would be the first one I'd grab if true survival were in the balance or a zombie apocalypse occurred. I know one thing for sure...that KHHI blade would outlast my ability to use (or even abuse) it. Hooking you up with the OG JASON and sending the pic signed by Gene Simmons was just my way of saying thanks for the great design. Keep up the great work!

Woody Down Under, Ive always taken your advise on blades and buy on that advise. Never had a moments trouble with either KHHI and DBAD Kukris and Knives.

Gotta tell you, I bought a McCurdy Modern Kukri from KHHI. It is absolutely beautiful!!! Having said that, it works. I live on a 127 acre farm. I also work in the tree and forrestry (arborist). We take down trees - period. My KHHI McCurdy is used all the time on the job. I use it all the time at work. I beat the crap out of it, yet I have really good edge sretention (just been honing); no chips, no rolls and no real scratches. Daily and weekly maintenance is limited to stropping (after orginal sharpening) and wiping it off with an oily rag. So, please tell whover it was that said that, that they can feel free to bring whatever they want to use and joing me for a few days out in the field! Also, I am Jonesing for a DBAD Mission VI!
You go man!!! Absolutely spot on! I have 2 dbad knives from the khukri house and couldn't be happier, the preacher is a beast and the camp knife is by far the best camp knife I own, and own a few dozen of them. That gator tail is most likely my next knife. Awesome stuff brother!
I'm curious to see what this person has to say now that you've made this demonstration video of the knife they recommended breaking... yet they're saying don't buy awesome knives that actually are proven. Funny you mentioned United Cutlery. I feel pretty much as you about them. Oddly, my most used cane..is a synthetic United Cutlery cane. It is amazing. Supports my 300lbs, but is light and maneuverable and built for self defense. Beyond that, it's reasonably priced! Love your knives DonnieB

Who would say such a silly thing about Kukris it a lot of bad ones out there but it's some darn good and even great ones out there also. KHHI Kukri House make some of the very finest knives especially Kukri knives.

I bought a John J Tribute Bowie, and a Preacher, based on your vids. I got 'em with Micarta scales when it wasn't cool to get 'em with Micarta scales. I have absolutely beat the $h!T outta' both of 'em, and haven't managed to break 'em. Needless to say, I am MORE THAN HAPPY with my purchases (and I own a buttload of TOPS, Becker's, and Barkies). Go ahead, DBAD, keep on designing knives. I'll keep on buying 'em. 👍
To date I have purchased 2 knives from the Khukuri House. A DBAD War Machine and their Power Hammer. I have been favorably impressed by both of them. The only reason I would not buy more knives from the Khukuri House is that quite simply these knives look to be able to do everything I need done. While I have nothing against collecting knives, alas my funds are limited and I have other things I need to be spending money on right now.
Id chose the kukri house blade all day. All kinds of historical accounts of blades meant for use snapping off inside the person they stabbed though. Just happens sometimes, especially if the person struggles & puts it in a bind.

The only problem with DBAD knives are which one to buy next. I have the Preacher and mission 4, and now shopping for the next and I can guarentee that I will also order the western sheath. Knives with D guards on the handle are illegal here so that one is out. ( my understanding of the law ). But never the less I WILL OWN THEM ALL, a great design made by the best THE KUKRI HOUSE.
Khhi is an amazing company they forged me the two spiked bowie knives Daryl used in the walking dead from season 9 to 11.For a good price for quality metal and hand forged full tang 5160 monster. Gets no better than that.

When I see it in your hand on this video I questioned buying the 2nd kukri... that thing is BAD A&&!!!! wish I would have seen this first! Love it, that Gatortail fully integral looks like a really hard use knife. That other piece of trash is most likely Pakistani or cheap Chinese made knife, no wonder it snapped in two. Hey, a piece of 5160 leaf spring steel with a good heat treat is tough as nails. Question to folks here, when is the last time you've seen truck or car leaf springs snapped in two. I'm 65 and I've 4 wheeled of road for years and have never seen any snapped off. Good steel from a great knife maker, what's not to like. I bought that knife Because Not only is it a bad a** Design, I know I'm getting a quality knife that I can beat the h*** out of and it's going to Last because you designed it that way. I've only seen one vidyo that s jode a bad knife from k h h I, But in that same video the guy showed the replacement he got right away because because the bad one was A mistake on their part but they fixed it immediately. Iv seen a KHHi knife that was broken on another video and if this person is referring to that they are extremely wrong yes the guy did break his Bowie but he totally owned up to how he managed to break it and to be honest the knife held up to a lot and the guy has ordered another one since and repurposed the broken knife to still function as a knife so if this person is going by that video they didn’t watch the hole video or listen to a word they man said the guy got it stuck in a log and he couldn’t get it out without breaking it
BudK makes the cheap junk Kukri and there are people that love them ,this is a great video because it shows the truth and nothing but the truth about Hibben and some other novelty knives, that are beautiful wall hangers.

DBAD, there's nothing wrong with calling out people who don't know what they're talking about! I wish I had watched your videos before I bought a standard Ka-Bar, because I definitely would have bought your design instead. I see so many videos hyping knives that I know aren't worth the money. Having a master's in mechanical engineering, it's easier for me to know what makes a knife good, provided I have all the information, which manufacturers often try to hide.
@@DonnieBAllDay I'm going to try to sell my Ka-Bar. I haven't used it much, so maybe I'll get a decent price. I recently bought the new version of the Cold Steel Drop Forged Survivalist with 52100 ball bearing steel (the one w/ the handle scales). It's surprisingly well balanced. I would have gone a slightly different way with the design, but it's still the best knife I own for the money. I don't really need the Ka-Bar now that I have that knife. That said, I'd definitely buy your War Machine w/ the money I get from selling the Ka-Bar. It would be great to have a dedicated fighting knife. BTW, you are very correct about the pricing at the Kukri house. With the steels and materials they use, those knives are worth double the price.
@@DonnieBAllDay I'm not a knife designer, but I would've designed it w/ a reduced height top guard, jimping on the spine next the top guard, a choil, thicker handle scales, & a flat back of the hand guard for smashing things. If they had done that, I wouldn't even need a separate bushcraft knife. That said, I have huge hands, & it looks like you do as well. I suspect the handle scales are sufficient for the average person. I actually emailed CS about their DF Hunter. I told them if they added handle scales like the DF Survivalist, & added some jimping on the spine, they would double their sales. They didn't email me back!

I 've been telling everyone that it was ok. It's not what was said as much as how it came across. I guess it later irked people because the comment of if you have one, you have them all, then posted a vid on H&R(as you know, one of my favorites) that uses all the sames steel and most are stag/bone. So people were thrown that you said it about KHHI then glorified it with H&R. I had to leave for a movie during the vid so I REALLY need to finish that. I was asked if I saw the "etched" one in you vid. It must be later because I missed it and now I need to know! Haha!

Oh it's you two? Oh brother bury the hatchet water under the bridge. I will say this cowboy, I own about 18 pieces from KHHI and while I kind of get your point it, they make varying degrees of kukris that are nothing alike. I have a full tang dotted supreme, a modern kukri with a rubber handle and fusion tang (Marshal) and a SiruPate (slender) stick tang model. These three kukris are so different in weight/style/function it's not even comparable. So to say they are all the same would be offensive to KHHI kamis, I think that's where dbad got a bit peeved. In any case, maybe just a little miscommunication.

I am certainly no knife expert and my "Rambo days" are long gone...lol. However, after watching Last Blood and ordering me and my youngest brother the Heartstopper, I was surfing RUclips and found your channel. I then saw your video where you unveiled the DBAD JOHN J TRIBUTE knife. I had to have one...so I ordered it and waited about a month to receive it. It is beauty and badazz all wrapped into one. I own at least one of every Rambo movie knife (by manufacturers such as HCG, UC, EU repros, etc) and I can say with 100% certainty that the JOHN J TRIBUTE would be the first one I'd grab if true survival were in the balance or a zombie apocalypse occurred. I know one thing for sure...that KHHI blade would outlast my ability to use (or even abuse) it. Hooking you up with the OG JASON and sending the pic signed by Gene Simmons was just my way of saying thanks for the great design. Keep up the great work!

Gotta tell you, I bought a McCurdy Modern Kukri from KHHI.
It is absolutely beautiful!!! Having said that, it works. I live on a 127 acre farm. I also work in the tree and forrestry (arborist). We take down trees - period. My KHHI McCurdy is used all the time on the job. I use it all the time at work.
I beat the crap out of it, yet I have really good edge sretention (just been honing); no chips, no rolls and no real scratches. Daily and weekly maintenance is limited to stropping (after orginal sharpening) and wiping it off with an oily rag.
So, please tell whover it was that said that, that they can feel free to bring whatever they want to use and joing me for a few days out in the field!

I'm curious to see what this person has to say now that you've made this demonstration video of the knife they recommended breaking... yet they're saying don't buy awesome knives that actually are proven. Smh some people just live to talk shit with no factual basis. Donnie asap it's still on my list to get one or 2 of your knives. Problem for me is I want so many of them.
Funny you mentioned United Cutlery. I feel pretty much as you about them. Oddly, my most used cane..is a synthetic United Cutlery cane. It is amazing. Supports my 300lbs, but is light and maneuverable and built for self defense. Beyond that, it's reasonably priced!

And I'm a critic, I have critiqued them I will say get one! We need reality based reviews. Scab puts his big arms behind that preacher and gives it all! I can't believe how fast his preacher chopped through a 4x4! I know mines sharper than his too and he still whacked it through faster than anyone I've seen.

Who would say such a silly thing about Kukris it a lot of bad ones out there but it's some darn good and even great ones out there also. KHHI Kukri House make some of the very finest knives especially Kukri knives.

I bought a John J Tribute Bowie, and a Preacher, based on your vids. I got 'em with Micarta scales when it wasn't cool to get 'em with Micarta scales. I have absolutely beat the $h!T outta' both of 'em, and haven't managed to break 'em. Needless to say, I am MORE THAN HAPPY with my purchases (and I own a buttload of TOPS, Becker's, and Barkies). Go ahead, DBAD, keep on designing knives. I'll keep on buying 'em. 👍

To date I have purchased 2 knives from the Khukuri House. A DBAD War Machine and their Power Hammer. I have been favorably impressed by both of them. The only reason I would not buy more knives from the Khukuri House is that quite simply these knives look to be able to do everything I need done. While I have nothing against collecting knives, alas my funds are limited and I have other things I need to be spending money on right now.
The two you have will get what you need done. Haha
Id chose the kukri house blade all day. All kinds of historical accounts of blades meant for use snapping off inside the person they stabbed though. Just happens sometimes, especially if the person struggles & puts it in a bind.

It depends on length x with x thickness. The same steel will react differently in different patterns
The only problem with DBAD knives are which one to buy next. I have the Preacher and mission 4, and now shopping for the next and I can guarentee that I will also order the western sheath. Knives with D guards on the handle are illegal here so that one is out. ( my understanding of the law ). But never the less I WILL OWN THEM ALL, a great design made by the best THE KUKRI HOUSE.

Khhi is an amazing company they forged me the two spiked bowie knives Daryl used in the walking dead from season 9 to 11.For a good price for quality metal and hand forged full tang 5160 monster. Gets no better than that.

Love it, that Gatortail fully integral looks like a really hard use knife. That other piece of trash is most likely Pakistani or cheap Chinese made knife, no wonder it snapped in two. Hey, a piece of 5160 leaf spring steel with a good heat treat is tough as nails. Question to folks here, when is the last time you've seen truck or car leaf springs snapped in two. I'm 65 and I've 4 wheeled of road for years and have never seen any snapped off. Good steel from a great knife maker, what's not to like. I bought that knife Because Not only is it a bad a** Design, I know I'm getting a quality knife that I can beat the h*** out of and it's going to Last because you designed it that way.
I've only seen one vidyo that s jode a bad knife from k h h I, But in that same video the guy showed the replacement he got right away because because the bad one was A mistake on their part but they fixed it immediately. Yeah, the guy who had one messed up bought his prior to only the masters making my designs. They were short staffed during covid and brought in regular craftsmen. That doesn't happen anymore

Iv seen a KHHi knife that was broken on another video and if this person is referring to that they are extremely wrong yes the guy did break his Bowie but he totally owned up to how he managed to break it and to be honest the knife held up to a lot and the guy has ordered another one since and repurposed the broken knife to still function as a knife so if this person is going by that video they didn’t watch the hole video or listen to a word they man said the guy got it stuck in a log and he couldn’t get it out without breaking it

BudK makes the cheap junk Kukri and there are people that love them ,this is a great video because it shows the truth and nothing but the truth about Hibben and some other novelty knives, that are beautiful wall hangers.
I have used plenty of wall hangers that work, but they simply aren't to this level

DBAD, there's nothing wrong with calling out people who don't know what they're talking about! I wish I had watched your videos before I bought a standard Ka-Bar, because I definitely would have bought your design instead. I see so many videos hyping knives that I know aren't worth the money. Having a master's in mechanical engineering, it's easier for me to know what makes a knife good, provided I have all the information, which manufacturers often try to hide.
That KA-BAR is the worst mathematically balanced combat knife on the planet. The War Machine definitely is beyond an upgrade
@@DonnieBAllDay I'm going to try to sell my Ka-Bar. I haven't used it much, so maybe I'll get a decent price. I recently bought the new version of the Cold Steel Drop Forged Survivalist with 52100 ball bearing steel (the one w/ the handle scales). It's surprisingly well balanced. I would have gone a slightly different way with the design, but it's still the best knife I own for the money. I don't really need the Ka-Bar now that I have that knife. That said, I'd definitely buy your War Machine w/ the money I get from selling the Ka-Bar. It would be great to have a dedicated fighting knife. BTW, you are very correct about the pricing at the Kukri house. With the steels and materials they use, those knives are worth double the price.

@@DonnieBAllDay I'm not a knife designer, but I would've designed it w/ a reduced height top guard, jimping on the spine next the top guard, a choil, thicker handle scales, & a flat back of the hand guard for smashing things. If they had done that, I wouldn't even need a separate bushcraft knife. That said, I have huge hands, & it looks like you do as well. I suspect the handle scales are sufficient for the average person. I actually emailed CS about their DF Hunter. I told them if they added handle scales like the DF Survivalist, & added some jimping on the spine, they would double their sales. They didn't email me back!
