Too many crazy good EDCs, but that employee carrying the customer gifted ganzo is just extraordinary wholesomeness
That was a great story!

Nice looking knife too. Don't know much about them though (if they're good, sharp, durable, etc...).
Jason sold me the Benchmade Adamas last week. Thank you brother.
This is one of the most genuine pocket dumps I've seen. Very genuine people too. Appalachian style. Thanks
All of these were their knives and what we carry on a daily
Chase, sod, buster, wish it had a lock blad
@@donnapendley7965 Donna, did you reply to the wrong person?
Man this really is Appalachian Style you can tell just by how they act there from TN
lol the guy with 7 knives, a multitool and a flashlight is living his best life.
Never know who is carrying what at SMKW
"I don't always roll a joint, but when I do, it's my ankle." 🤣 lolol
Great screensaver! 👍😉
No school like the old school and some of us helped build that old building lol
Working at an outdoors store, and being in the knife department, I CANNOT tell you how cool this video was. To recognize so many of the knives, and then to not recognize the rest was even cooler! I would so love working there.
We all geek out when someone gets something new esp when it is something we are seeing for the first time!
The first time that I visited SMKW, I was so overwhelmed by the selection that I couldn’t decide which knife to buy.
That happens more often than you would think
That's the trouble with today!!There's just to much choice on almost everything you buy!! We need less choice and more quantity!!!Mass production crap from China is a No No!! 😮👍
@@keithroberts5611 I worry that they could succumb to Chinese business pressure, but you know better, living in the UK myself.
I love smkw! Recently, my daughter went to Gatlinburg to visit family. She heard me telling her mom that I wanted desperately to go check it out..this was during the Christmas holidays and they were closed for the weekend. She stayed an extra day just to get me a knife from smkw. I love my children to pieces.
That is so awesome!
The pocket check with Jason was my favorite part! The "lowly" Ganzo and the story behind it was great. Knives don't have to be expensive to be special and/or useful. Glad I watched!
Thanks for watching! We love hearing a good knife tale 👍
I have a nice microtech and some nice sogs, and yet, my favorite is a cheap $30 sog my dad bought me shortly before he passed.
You are 100% right, they don’t have to be expensive to be special.
@@725niko Very cool!
Loved watching this. My father LOVED SMKW’s ! He passed last November and now I have 100’s + maybe 1000’s of knives. He never really knew how RUclips worked but I know he would have love to watch this !!
That sounds like an amazing collection!
Sorry for your loss, I hope his collection brings you happiness.
God bless you and your family and remembering the good times with your dear father
You should show off his collection in his honor, I’m sure we’d all love to watch it!
@@gmoney5947 I will have to work on that ! That’s a lot of knives. Definitely be an ongoing series!
Wow the dude at the benchmade counter had a lot he was definitely prepared
Jermey carries that on the daily!
I was just there 4 days ago buying a brand new Spyderco!!! Every year I go to Tennessee on vacation in the winter and every year I go to Smoky Mountain Knife Works and get a new knife been doing it for 20 plus years I freaking love The Knife Works
Thanks for making us a part of your trip!
Thank you TC. That was wonderful. I got my flex cut whittling jack, my Victoria, Knox, tinker, and my case large stockman! Great video thank you TC and thank you Smoky Mountain knife Works!
That’s awesome!
@@Leftyotism yes auto correct is very funny sometimes. Especially if you do not check it. Lol.
@@Leftyotism yep
Visiting SMKW is definitely on my bucket list. I can't believe how massive it is. G'day from Australia!
Damn man hell yeah! 😍
Like Wonka's chocolate factory but with sharp things instead of candy and so much more. Been there a few times.
What state is this store in? I need to go too.

That was fun! Got my Rough Ryder cinnamon bow trapper and a Marbles ram horn canoe today. Was very cool seeing Brian with the new bone RRR!
That's great!
So good to see Tony again. I haven't seen him since the SMKW TV shows. I used to watch on Direct TV every Friday night.
Tony helps run things behinds the scenes now days and keeps TC on the straight and narrow
Pretty cool to see so many of the behind-the-scenes people, plus a few familiar faces.
Today I have a Benchmade Mini Griptilian, a Leatherman Wingman exclusive from White Pass & Yukon Railroad, a Jowbeam knockoff flashlight, and a Victorinox Tinker with Zorro scales, purchased from SMKW at Blade Show in Atlanta last year.
Maybe we do some more behind the scenes stuff? 🤔
Hey TC!!! I’m glad my pocket check was worthy. I change what folder I carry(you caught me with my Manix 2), Gerber Dime and Olight Arkfeld. P365XL in a G-Code appendix holster. Olight keychain light. Prytool, and small Gerber keychain knife. It was awesome meeting with you and Greg in the store the other day!!! The fiancé really enjoys watching your videos with me and has become a super fan of y’all and knife collecting
hows that arkfeld working out for you? how long have you been carrying it so far? in the pocket does it feel similar to an 18650 flashlight? do you see yourself going back to an i5t?
@@MrNiceGuy80x5 , the Arkfeld with UV, seems super slim in my pocket. I own both types of Arkfeld. The light output is better than the i5T. Been carrying it for about a month now.
@@davidbaize4825 now that I think about it, does it carry like a knife?
@@MrNiceGuy80x5 , yes, carries like medium sized folder, para 2, for example. I hardly notice it
Thanks for watching!
Holy crap , alot of Americans workin there and imagine this if you buy a Rough Ryder you are supporting them ALL !. Great pocket check fellas !
No doubt, thanks for watching!
Enjoyed the video and mostly “meeting” some of the staff who served to make SMKW so great. Special shout out to Jason. Really miss seeing him on GTK. Glad he is well. Thanks a lot TC. Todays pocket carry is a Victorinox Tinker as it is Swiss Army Saturday and there are projects to be done and my flashlight is an OLight
Nice carry! Jason is the man behind the scenes that keeps it all running now days lol
Neck knife/keychain (and most used): Boker Kalishnikov in XHP and Lumintop EDC01 flashlight
Dress shirt pocket: CRKT CEO
Right pants pocket: Benchmade Griptilian or Milwaukee Fastback
Left pants pocket: Leatherman Wave+, Roxon C1 3-in-1 camping cutlery tool
Cargo pocket: Maxpedition Mini pouch w/ myriad goodies, including Victorinox CyberTool Lite, Victorinox Nail Clip 580, NiteCore Powerbank, Rolling Square 6-in-1 charger, and RovyVon Aurora A-8
Very nice!
@ Mathew Hebert
DANM that’s a lot of stuff.
You are like Mad Max in road warrior Beyond Thunder Dome.
I noticed that you did not mention a wallet 🤔
Smokey is my favorite mail order knife company. Nice to see the people.
Thanks for ordering and for watching as well!
Love the pocket dump videos. Seems like all the employees work for knives instead of money 😂
It is indeed a fact haha
To heck with Disneyland, I want to visit SMKW !!!
🙌🙌🙌
That was fun! I always knew SMKW was a special place.
Sounds like you have always been very smart! Thanks for watching!
Bradford Guardian 3, Hogue Extrak, Arcform Slimfoot "Darcform" auto, MKM Isonzo hawkbill.
Solid!
Awesome video!! I was surprised by a lot of the carry’s. Not what I was expecting to see “in a good way”. That new roughrider was fantastic, and the Schatt and Morgan was awesome. I’m glad someone had a TOOR on them, becoming such a huge fan of them. 🍻
If it cuts we carry is more than a slogan lol
This work environment is so friendly i love it you guys just earned a sub
Thanks for watching and having fun along with us!
Loved this video. I own a few knives, but the one I treasure most was an old Gerber given to me by a retired Navy Chief that collected and traded antique knives. I started receiving your catalog 2 years ago and was blown away by your selection. I’ve told so many about your unbelievable stock and now I need to get busy and start ordering so I can do a pocket dump.
Thanks for watching and sharing your knife tale with us Jerry!
What a way to spend your day. This guy has the best job imo.
TC loves his job! He has been an entertainer for over 20 years and we are very happy to have him with us.
Loved seeing everyone's choices. Can't beat a good pocket check video.
Today I'm carrying a WE Banter, solid little knife.
I made my first video this week too showing EDC gear, inspired by all the awesome EDC videos on RUclips, including yours. 👍🏻
Congrats on your video! The Banter, and Ben, are awesome!
It was Nice seeing Jason on Screen Again miss seeing him from Guys Talk knives.
Jason is the mad man that keeps it all together behind the scenes now days!
SMKW is great to buy from. some of my collection came from there. Some of my favorites that I own are all of my Microtech autos. Folders would be Benchmade as I worked 27 years in private security and always carried a griptilian. Fixed blade would be my Randall 14 attack with all the bells and whistles, Black micarta border patrol handle, stainless blade with saw teeth, nickel silver double curved hilt, and black sheath.
Thanks for watching! The Grip is always an excellent work carry
Love this. Ganzo knives are not bad. Budget knives.
I am suprised that practically nobody has pictures or posters on their walls! Thanks for the pocket checks! 👍🏻
Thanks for watching
This video was amazing. I loved it. Great coworkers/friends. More of this please 🙏 bless you all
Thank you!
I just love this store…. I was there earlier in the year for the first time. They have an amazing amount of knives from sooooo many different companies…..the employees are awesome too.
Thanks for stopping in and all the love!
My daily is a Cold Steel, Voyager and an Esee, Izula 2. I work at a home improvement store and I use them both daily.
#beateresee
Great video . I'm super stoked for the jigged bone reserve knife and hopefully a bunch more in natural materials
We can't wait until they get here!
@@SMKWcomdo you know when they’re coming? Can’t find them anywhere.
@@kaneEvro We are expecting a lot of Rough Ryders in the next week or so but I do not have which ones they will be.
Employee of the month stole my heart😭
Shes so pretty, and that flick was super slick👍
thanks for watching
Love going there every year. Nice to see everyone smiling and all
Thanks for making us part of your journey!
Tales of the knife trader. Love it.
🙌🙌🙌
I pretty much within the last couple of years got away from the "new hype of the week" stuff. I use most everything I carry now and have put away my custom higher dollar pieces. I've now gotten myself into the fixed blade frenzy and it's a lot of fun!
Appreciate the show TC and all the good folks at SMKW
I dig fixies as well. What blade you rocking
Can we just take a second to appreciate how smooth the camera handoffs were in the beginning?
I emptied one of my CR bags and I gave out the last Old Timer stockmans that I had to my Sons. Bought several back in the late 70s along with a few Bucks and Schrades when a local shop closed.
Nice knives to pass along!
I'm totally looking forward to the tales of knife traders..... awesome vid man.
Thanks for watching!
Great atmosphere there! Seems like a big family.
No doubt!
Leatherman signal, out door edge edc, surefire light, and CRKT M16 love them all
very nice!
A lot of cool knives! I expected more vintage stuff and definitely more Case knives.
Greg had his Case and many people keep the vintage stuff at home in their collections
This was a great video - i was smiling the whole way through
Thanks for watching Blawa! We had a blast with this one
Looks like a great place to work…lots of good, friendly people who seem to like each other and their jobs.
We get to play with knives and talk to people who love knives all day!
This video highlights what I love about the USA. Knives are tools not weapons, young men and ladies are given responsibility young and educated correctly on the use of anything with a blade. Here in the UK people have only negativity drilled into them on the subject of bladed tools. Keep doing what your doing USA because your not the negativity in this world so carry on being an example of good education and understanding.
Thanks for watching!
Nice one, guys! Today I'm carrying a Buck 112 slim pro with OD green micarta, and a Case mini trapper with smooth chestnut bone. Cheers!
Both are awesome carries
Added to the bucket list! Your store looks amazing. Best way to spend the day looking at all the knifes in stock and making new friends.
We hope you get to come and see us!
I was there year before last. My wife surprised me with a detour when we were traveling through Tennessee and KY. It's amazing in there. Too many knives to see all of them. My favorite part was the stuff on the walls not for sale. Got to handle amazing blades that I couldn't afford which to me is really great. Overall, it's just an amazing store.
Great video..! I loved seeing what everybody was carrying - this would be a very good regular “series” of videos. Today I’m carrying a Spyderco Para 3 LW and a Sage 5 LW. I love them both.
That's awesome!
I've got a cheap Gerber liner lock that I found in the East bound lane of the 4th Street bridge about a year ago. Had been run over a number of times, liners we're bent, had some roadrash on the scales. Took it to the shop, cleaned and tuned it up for my EDC......I doubt if I'll ever loose it.......That only happens to my good knives. I'm a happy man.
Love hearing of rehoming lost knives!
I carry a Spyderco Delica.
always a great carry
Got a QSP Hawk. Honey Badger (small) that’s for my daughter. Camillus mini bushcraft (beater) and nebo 2000 (light). I usually only carry one blade but the honey badger is too much fun to fidget with. And I’m doing some grunge work. So the Camillus came out of retirement.
Great video. Very likable people there.
Thanks for watching!
We went to pigeon forge for vacation back in 2018. I drove over to your store and was in Heaven!! One of the coolest places I’ve ever been to! Unfortunately I only had about 2 to spend so I was kinda rushed but it was still a great time and a great memory. Such a beautiful area too!!
And I’m also a huge Spyderco fan!
Thanks for making us a part of your vacation! We hope the next time you are in the area you get to stop by again 👍
I carry a Victorinox Huntsman every day of my life. HAHAHA. That new Victorinox that Jason has is a nice looking knife. If only it had scissors on it.😂
Everything is better with scissors!
This video is the strongest evidence to show why I never ask opinions of the store employees
Every one has opinions and thoughts and thanks for sharing yours
I loved this. I am carrying a Benchmade Aileron in S30V in my right pocket and a SOG Visionary II in VG10 in my left pocket. I do have the clip flipped on the SOG for left side carry. Thrunite BSS W1 is my light. I also have a Civivi Crit and a Pokka Pen.
Nice carry!
Been to SMKW number of times. Its a cool place. Bought a few blade's and several items for my firearms. There are so many knives and displays. Amazing what you can see there.
Thanks for stopping in and seeing us Liam!
I'm from the Philippines and I went to Tennessee and visited this store! This store is like Disneyland for me.
Thank you for letting us be a part of your journey!
I have been carrying a Spyderco Endura 4 for decades. Recently bought a Scallywag MDV Plus One and added an Ulticlip XL for horizontal belt carry. Also wrapped the handle with 3 layers of monkey tape to make a very secure 4-finger grip. LOVE IT !!
Love how much an ulticlip can improve a carry!
One of the first knife vids I watched. Started me down the long expensive road of collecting.... Thanks??
That place looks like heaven, talking knives , selling knives, playing with knives, who would want to go home?
If you ever find yourself near East Tennessee please stop in and see us!
My dad had a sporting goods/gun shop for 30 years (I worked there off and on in high school and through college) and my brother worked in several big box sporting goods stores for 20 years. I can tell that working at the store and having access to deals and wholesale prices is items, what we bought then is much different than what we buy now that we don’t have access to those deals.
What would be very interesting is to find out what ‘experts’, who pay the same prices for their items that the public pays, carry and use.
Thanks for watching
I regret not visiting the store when I was down there years ago! I loved this video, got to see the nice people and cool knives at Smoky Mountain! I hope to get down there soon!
We hope to get to see you soon and safe travels!
Nice to see the employee of the month. She’s carrying a tenacious that’s my favorite Spyderco to carry every day.
We love the Tenacious!
Since 2008, I have carried my Black Benchmade 5000 Mel Pardue Presidio Automatic. And recently added a ThruNite EDC Flashlight Archer Pro.
Mel Pardue designed some awesome knives!
This is so fun to watch. I usually carry a Spyderco Endura, a Gerber Truss, a Victorinox SD and a Olight Warrior mini
Nice carry!
I love these SMKW pocket checks! Lots of fun!
We always have a blast doing them!
On the daily I have a Spyderco Roadie on my keys, a neck knife, a Leatherman and a fixed blade on my belt (along with my Pew-Pew), a pry-bar and a folder in my R&L front pockets. I also carry a headlamp in my daily jacket pocket and sometimes I have an OTF in a back pant pocket as well as a Vic-nox on a lanyard.
That is a heck of a carry right there!
@@SMKWcom - Some days I'll ditch the neck or the belt blade, but I always make sure I have one or the other! - LoL
They always say get a job you love and you'll never work again. If I could work it would be with a company exactly like yours. I love knives, any and all kinds. I always have a Gerber MP400 multi tool on me at all times, a Kershaw assisted open sheep's foot blade (not sure of the model) and a tiny super thin Gerber liner lock. For a light I have a Hart 700 lumen led 3 cell with pocket clip. Sometimes a fixed blade SOG or Buck hangs on the belt, depending on what I plan on doing for the day. The only problem with working there would be me spending a big chunk of my check there every payday. Yes, I have a problem. Lol. Great Video!
We love working here! Sometimes it is helping someone find their 1st knife, other days seeing a collection come in of rare or one of a kinds, and then there is always car shows going on around us as well!
Good to see Kevin Pipes truckin' after all these years! Right now carrying a Brouse blades Bionic 2.0!!!
Kevin still works all of us under the table!
Currently carrying my Leatherman wave gen 2, crkt Pilar green g 10 and victorinox deluxe tinker. Thanks for the great video.
Very nice carry and thanks for watching
I like the screen saver of the girl in the office. "I don't always roll a joint, but when I do, it's my ankle". That was an enjoyable video. I love the stories that go along with the knives. Everybody has one, a pocket knife and a story. So do I. About thirty years ago I lost a new folder I was carrying that had a pocket clip. I took it out to use and must have been standing in front my car at the time and then I put it back in my pocket or so I thought. I drove home from where I was about 20 miles from home. When I got home, I went to use my knife and it was gone. When I went to use my car, while approaching it from the front, I saw my new knife hanging from the front license plate frame and it was open hanging by the pocket clip just off the ground. The blade edge at the tip had a couple small chips in it from the drive home earlier, but it worked as normal. I call it my lucky knife.
Thanks for watching and that is a great knife tale! Thanks for sharing
I feel like most people would think if you work in a knife store, you are somewhat obligated to carry your own knife. But on the other side, if you work in a knife store, its not exactly difficult to find a knife if you need one xD
It always amazes us how many people don't carry any kind of knife or scissors
Benchmade mini grip, and SAK on the keychain, love these pocket check videos, keep up the great work fellas!
Thanks for watching SR!
When the vid went live I was carrying a WE Big Banter, Leatherman Free P2, and Olight S2R since I was at work lol. Today I have a Spyderco Native 5.
We love changing and adding to our EDC as well and getting all these great responses has given us even more ideas!
This was cool! I’m currently carrying a Victorinox climber with glow in the dark scales, green Gerber Dime, and a Leatherman Skeletool.
😮noice!
Love SMKW. Been there many times. Great products, great prices.
Thank you!
Great video. I used to ask Tony Bose what he was carrying when I saw him at a Case event or the Blade show. It was always something cool and well used. RIP Tony. I always has a Leatherman and some type of Case on me. Then a larger folder which has been a Benchmade mini Adamas lately.
It is always great to see what the professionals carry
That was Great! Kinda like watching a strangely knife obsessed family.. Just like my family at Christmas!
Key word, Strange lol
Awesome employee pocket dump. My carry today was spyderco shaman from SMKW. Victorinox super tinker with custom green scales. Victorinox SD SMKW sasquatch. Flash light Thrunite Archer mini in green and Olight copper i3. Keep up the great content.
Thanks for watching and nice carry!
What a great vid! The Store/Employees look like heaven!!!! I must visit soon.
I'm new to knives.
I bought a CKC Colonial Quick Flick Spring Assisted Knife Green Camo. I just adjusted it so that the blade is perfectly centered now too.
Starting at the bottom here and learning about all these brands, super steels etc....I can only move up and start to add more knives to collect.
Cheers from Canada SMKW!
Thanks for watching and welcome to the knife community! If you ever find yourself in East Tennessee please stop in and see us!
Bench made mini bugout with copper scales I bought at smkw 3 years ago on vacation from Pennsylvania. I carry it everyday, I need to send it in to get sharpened.
Nice carry and thanks for making us a part of your vacation!
I love videos like this. It reassures me that I'm not crazy for carrying more than one knife (like my non-knife friends think I am)
We are crazy for a whole host oof reasons but carrying knives isn't one
I absolutey love that they arent just caring the same super popular knives that everyone wears. Love seeing those Ganzos, Rough Ryders, and Benchmarks.
Great selection guys.
Today I'm carrying my Kizer Vangino Zipslip, with blue G10 scales. Lovely little knife.
Love the Zipslip!
I have over three hundred knives, my most used and favorite is a old timer Barlow I got from you guys a couple of years ago. My most used knife in the military was a Swiss army knife with the pliars on it back in the early 90's.
That sounds like a heck of a collection!
TC! you killed it! Another great video!
Thank you!
Every day carry is my Smith & Wesson rescue knife. Self defense knives this week: Fox dart Doug Marcaida design and back up: Ka-Bar TDI LDK.
Nice EDC!
Great video guys! Some great looking customs.
For sure!
Good stuff! I’m always carrying one of my Strider SMF’s as my primary and usually a Case or Spyderco….lately it’s been my Emerson Mini CQC7NW though. For my flashlight I alternate between the Olight S2R2 and Fenix PD35. My wallet is the Maxpedition Micro Wallet that I’ve used for years. Pen is the Hinderer Investigator that’s been in my pocket everyday for the last 11 or 12 years now. Also carry an Aroundsquare Knucklebone and a Vox Snailor or two for fidgety stuff lol…..Rexford RUT for work…and SOMETIMES my Leatherman Wave+. Don’t carry it near as much as I should though.
The Snailor is so slept on!
What , not an Opinal in sight. No. 8 is my favourite . Thanks for taking us along.
Several of us have Opinals just no one was carrying on the day of filming 👍
I always say " I only admit to three. ". A SAK, a Buck, and a Mora. Great video, thank you 😊
That is a great way to say that lol
I’m 60 and the one I wear and love the must is my Buck 110 that my brother gave me when I was twelve years old.
That is awesome! The 110 holds up 👍
i carry a cheap Buck folder, but I've been to kniveworks probably 25 times in my life, much love from up north
Thanks for making us a part of your trip! Much love back 👍
I've bought many knives from SMKW both for myself and as gifts and have always been very happy with the service and quality of the products they sell.... I miss the weekly T.V. show they used to have where they promoted and sold many different knives.
My wife used to get on me about all the knives I bought, until I pointed out that just one of her fancy designer hand bags cost more than most of my knives all together!!!...... She don't complain any more....
Thanks for watching all this time!
