Wow , another Great review, I have chilled x61000w. I love it and the customer service. But WOW this light at those #s and price , that's a game changer ! Thank for doing what you do 👍
i love that you point out the economic downfalls of sealing a room!!! factory setups spend so much on dehumidifiers and AC/heat. so few people look at the full energy equation. its more than just lights, its the whole environment and you get that
I absolutely love this light. I ran your light comparison table and put 6 lights in there all above 1600 PPF. I have a 10 x 10 sealed room with CO2. I think the Medic EZ-8 is going to be my choice when I buy my lights. I’m going to be replacing my 4ea 1000w hps lights I have One at a time 😁😁. Thank you for all of your reviews and Hahard work put into evevery onef them.!!!! 👍👍👍
love your videos btw man. I started out looking at your thorough light reviews and I keep coming back to get more info. One of your community members, HempwithGG, has been very helpful as well. Thank you for doing your thing. It's been a life saver.
@@drewamasterpiece5268 been very satisfied with it, it's definitely more suitable for flowering than vegging but once you get used to it you can use it for both without issues. The light distribution is fantastic, you have a lovely and perfect square. The main ballast doesn't emit too much heat, makes temperature control fairly simple compared to the HPS in the room before. Been getting about 1.5g per watt return and still improving.
I can tell you what makes it so cheap, it uses Samsung LM301Z diodes instead LM301B which are more efficient and hence slightly more expensive. Switching all diodes to Z instead of the B line and you can reduce the cost greatly
i see a couple things i dont like about this light, the plastic plugs for plugging in each bar way to easy to break if bumped by anyone or thing. also dont like that most the lights are 4000k i would rather see 3500 to 3000 for flowering. yea cant see myself buying it for these 2 reasons alone. i wont wast money on something that has crappy design like this. i like the ones that attach on both ends and plug in with a wire. it dont take that long to whip out the zip ties and make it look neat.
I went off this video thinking it was the best value possible and now have wasted 500$ and have a completely garbage light that doesn’t grow anything even tho it’s bright as shit, I know it’s not your fault but for some reason ppfd does not actually guarantee good growth.
The frame and the power. The fold 8 and EZ 8 have the same diodes - the EZ 8 just has more potential power. It is certainly a recommended buy. Grower Love
Not yet, but should be in next couple months. I am intrigued with the Spectrum X and the Smart 8 - but I still think the EZ-8 is the best deal out there. Grower Love
i could definitely use this lol lol i bought used hps fixtures and tents i have one Maxsisun MF 2000 in my 2-4 tent and am looking for a good LED for the 5x5 and also for 4x4 the Maxsisun MF 2000 was purchased after watching your video on it great in the propagation tent this is my first indoor grow
Right I really need this light too! Hopefully this is one he's giving away and one of us that really need it and can't really afford it win it! (if giving away) I'm down a light was 2 but couldn't afford to replace 2 we had a storm and the phone pole broke transformer exploded and killed both my chilled leds also my microwave and bedroom TV all won't work now sucks.... so now I have both 5x5s empty everything in middle of spare bedroom under a roi-e720 growers choice led not quite enough for what I'm using but week 5 and 1 in flower.
@@miker5700 my heart breaks for you and I wish I could help ..Im in on few other drawings I'll keep you in mind if I win .. I don't really need another light at the moment.
@@gregkramer5588 I read more datasheets than you can believe and as a consequence of that I now run 6000 W led at 1200 W at body temperature. This way, and I calculated it, I get 28% more efficient than I would get with nominal current an high temps.
@@LiteralHitter I used to be a field applications engineer in the semiconductor industry before I retired. Lots of data sheets for sure :-) When I look at page 14 of the LM301B data sheet as an example it seems like it would be impossible to get that much gain unless the nominal 100% setting for the (poorly designed) light fixture was way outside the specified range. I am looking at the flux vs. current curve along with the flux vs. temp curve. BTW I have never seen a 6000W led fixture assuming that is power number and not a model number.
@@gregkramer5588 Drop from 130mA to 65mA, for example is a drop from 234lm/w to 205lm/W and that's 13%. And that's max at lowest temp for the best bin (3000K). I would get another 4% with proper cooling. I don't have one fixture. I have 24 and that's just for flower. This light in the video has max power of 1500W (by the diode count) and it uses 1000W. My light has 6000W power total, but it uses 1200W.

I would love to see a 6x6 par map and recommendations on a hanging height for this light.

On sale on black Friday it was $473.00 with code.
It arrived 4 days ago..

Has it held up well and produced nice harvests? Or was it one of the junk ones some people get stuck with?
I mean your video sold me on the ez-8 can't wait to pick one up for my second tent

@doc, would I get anything added using c02 even with only running @80%? Or would extra c02 be wasteful for 80%?

Why didn't the dimming raised efficiency, that's strange. If you dim led by 50% you should get about 15% more efficiency.
I think it is actually more like 4 or 5 percent. At least from the data sheets I have read. That said this light gained less than 1% which is weird.
