Similar fixtures cost almost twice as much - So what gives?
I carefully inspected the build quality and authenticity of the components. I interrogated the representative about the company, the manufacturer, and the fixture. Of course, I also ran the Medic Grow Fold 8 through several PAR tests and measured the operating temperature.
How does it perform compared to top-end fixtures? Is it a great deal or is there a reason that is so cheap?

You got yourself a new subscriber. You are one of rare Americans who using terms correctly. Most of other RUclipsrs when measuring light say: at 12 inches we have 800 (pars). Lol. Instead to correctly say at 12 inches we have par of 800 micromoles. Like you say. So well done for correct using of terminology.

I have two medic grow fold 8s and I love em I set my lights according to your par charts
so just set up my lights ... using the fold 8 x2 in my 4x8 tent bought a ac infinity exhaust fan came with the controller 69 bought the type a dongle and now running my lights through that controller 1-10 dimmable and on the timer. pretty cool the two work so well together 😀

Got my light! Thanks for the discount. I'm still seeing spots from turning it on and testing the dial. I ordered the 760 watt version, but I don't have a way of measuring my power draw yet and want to make sure I got the 760 and not the 720. I couldn't find any identifying markings on the box or anywhere on the light. Anyone know if there is a way to tell just by looking? Till I can grab a par meter I'm gonna have to adjust based on the hanging heights from this video with the 720, figure the 760 will need some more height to keep numbers under 1000.

How is it you think this light performs better then other more expensive lights considering the efficiency of the diodes that are being used on this light compared to say the roi-e720, arent as efficient? Could it just be the driver? Or does the difference in the efficiency of the diodes really not matter that much? Also you should try and get your hands on there spectrum x light and do some tests! Love your videos 🤙

Just got my fold 8 and it looks and feels well made. Since I tested her yet I found a the manual less than informative. Hanging instructions vague and imo the wire hangers were yanky, your choice of using four carbiners instead of theirs was helpful. Lookin forward to my next grow in a 4x4. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Fine tuning by using the dimmer is a must. Does it only have four settings, nothing in between?

I'm having been looking into these as I am upgrading all my HID lights to leds. I run a sealed room minisplit ac, co2 and dehu. Would you recommend these over the growerschoice roi-e720?

Yea. Idk how they are supposed to be getting better efficiency than lm301b diode fixtures when Z+ diodes produce 19 less lumens per watt

Hey. I got a question does it hurt to run your lights on 80% for six weeks and then kick it up to 100% for the last two weeks of flower. Will that hurt your light switching it around on the dimmer

I have both and the bloomspect is more of a veg color temp but just as bright as the spider farmer

Oh whoops, just noticed in the video you show LM301Z+. Any idea on the k value for the warmth of the whites? Looks like they went with all one spectrum.

yo dude. for a 4x4 would you buy 2 mars hydro sp3000 or 2 x HLG 300L rspec ? i can get the HLG a bit cheaper but not by much,
among those choices I would pick the 2x SP3000. However, you might want to consider this Medic Grow too... I run it through a 4x4 test and - well - worth seeing :)

Only reason I'd do Two sp3000 is if your someone who prefers to light fixtures in large spaces so you can adjust different heights for each fixture based on Plants underneath

Any problems with it..I emailed them just for kicks and they hit me back asap..I asked about rf signal from the ballast..Like the digtal ballast hps..I can't find anyone who has this issue..The led lightbulbs I seen would mess with garage doors...Glad that isn't a issue with these...

Well crap, after debating on Mars Hydro lights (sp-3000)and almost pulled the trigger this pops up. Not sure now.
This one blows out the competition. Just not sure how legit they are.
The ez 8 is 1000 watts for only 40 more dollars with the ccfc code. I'd like to see a par map on that beast

@@DrMJCoco i'm trying to buy 50 of these. The sales rep is giving me weird numbers with weird discounts. "$565X50 =$28,272 in total." Not sure where they got the $565 per and the multiplication doesnt add up. I then got an email from Sunny, probably a sales rep or manager, who said "To prove I didn't cheat you"...raised a red flag since they also wanted me to wire transfer the $28k to their Chase Bank. I did ask Sunny if she could send me one of the Spectrum X to sample. I checked their Irvine address and it leads to house in what looks like a nice neighborhood but hey, thats in the Irvine area which is considered a rich area.

They have changed their web page for this light, it now says its 760w, 2160 μmol/s... Looks like a great light but I just can't bring myself to buy this over a Spider Farmer SF4000 as I can trust them, this co. has no resellers that I can find in the US cept where they drop ship from in Cali. I was going to buy the SF-4000 and seen this now I want this light... To bad they don't sell on Amazon I would feel better about buying through them then a their own website
I heard about the stock update - and the current batch will be 760 watts - but they are keeping the price the same. I vetted the company as best as I could. I am confident but remain alert to user experiences.
You'd have to go with the SF7000 to come closer to covering the same area as this one.
@@DrMJCoco The light you tested came in "M1" spectrum, they're calling it "V1" on the new lights. Not sure if anything changed but the name?

So just a follow up on this light. I ordered two of them almost a month ago, one just arrived but the dimmer button was broken, the second one never even showed up and they’ve told me for a week now to just wait, even though FedEx says they never received it. Stick with a reputable brand and save yourself a lot of headaches

They just quit responding to my emails altogether. Still have not gotten the second light.
So I ordered last week was provided a tracking number FedEx hasn't received the item as well it says it is/suspose to be here Thursday I contacted support they told me to hold tight so now I am just waiting I will definitely report back and give everyone an update if the item does come @medicgrow

When will doc accept medic grow is not a trustworthy company and stop supporting them with this channel. Ordered 2 lights received one now being told the other is on the way but when I track it says label created thats it. FedEx doesn’t have the light yet they keep telling me they do. Ready to cancel payment with PayPal. Doc please help

Unfortunately for some, it ships with a picture of the light next to 'LED LIGHT' in big letters on the box.
From their website:
"...this LED grow light offers M1 fully programmable spectrum to adapt to each phase of the plant cycle."
From their FAQ:
"9. Do you have any certifications for your lights? Can you send me the certification test report?
Yes, our lights are UL certified. Sorry, we can’t share our certification report with you due to the technical secret inside."
Yes you can find these exact lights for even cheaper (!) from many suppliers on Alibaba but with shipping and import duties you might not really save anything if ordering from the U.S. and you will wait longer for it. It wouldn't be a surprise if these lights shipped directly from China anyway as these guys just appear to be standard re-branded dropshippers.
That being said $600 for one of these in your hands WGAF I'm in lol

looks like LM301z plus diodes, 90cri, 4000k, not the best spectrum for flowering
So before I purchased I asked if the diodes are in any way protected for cleaning or humidity and was happy to hear yes. When i opened it i saw a curious warning about touching the reds so I asked again and was told no and be very careful. Well ffs the same old bs

bought the spectrum x 5 months ago. the lcd went out then the lights stopped comming on. emailed them. they replied that they wanted a video of it not working so I sent it . they responded are engineers will analyze the video if we find anything we'll contact you... I don't see how an engineer can fix my light through video. straight garbage .
