U should hung them at same height. Increasing the height just makes better chips less. I see why u did it so their at 1000 but regardless because your higher your taking away from the stronger chip. Hang the weaker chip that high it be way worse
I've been trying to contact some of the main RUclips reviewers & not getting a response. I was hoping you could help me I seen you on grow it and I'm subscribed 2 your Channel. Question is I currently have viparspectra Xs 2000... it gets really warm and it's hard to control the heat. I was thinking about upgrading to a AC Infinity Evo 3 limited space do you think the upgrade would be worth it? Also the detachable driver I feel like that's where most of the heat comes from being able to keep the driver outside the tent would mitigate heat inside how do you feel about this or what would you suggest for a two-by-four?
The driver is only responsible for about 7% of the total heat added to the space. About 93% of the heat from the light comes from the diodes. Removing the driver is a very marginal improvement in heat management. In the end, heat is a function of the power used. More power = more heat. FWIW, many growers skip summer because they can manage the grow the rest of the year without investing in AC. Grower Love
@@DrMJCoco thank you for the response Dr MJ that really stinks hopefully that's not the case I feel like on my viparspectra all of the heat is radiating from the driver the board itself feels cool to the touch but the driver is really really warm. I'm on my way home now it was just delivered 30 minutes from now I will have it out of the box😁😁👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
@DrMJCoco I respectfully disagree a bit. I don't know math and science, but I do know my thermostat! It was 75 without a driver, tops! No where near enough heat. I installed the driver in my 2x4 tent and I now use a fan at 84 degrees!.. it won't get much hotter then 85ish. But that's 10 degrees!!
I tested all of the above with a digital thermometer on the driver on the lights the ambient temperature outside the tent and the temperature in the driver was 145° the lights we're around 98 the ambient temperature outside of my tent was 72 and the temperature inside 78 so majority of the light was coming from the driver this year I have had absolute zero problems controlling temperature simply because my driver is outside of the tent I think when the temperature outside was in the mid-80s 85/90 this fall temperatures were rising to above 80 in the tent but as soon as the temp dropped too 75 or below no issues it was the driver the whole time that was the culprit
Dear Dr.. if you were to choose between the FC 8000 EVO and AC infinity’s IonFrameEVO8, which would you prefer? I’m leaning towards mars hydro due to knowing they’ll array the diodes for better distribution, but see ac infinity has added 8 uva diodes and have AMAZING customer service/quality
Overall I get AC has the “fuller” spectrum (lol the gimmicks) but truly is cheaper per diode, drives each of said diodes at a lower wattage, but the fact MARS has that light distribution is REALLY making me gravitate
uv led diodes are not even real uva 365nm. Theyre 400nm which is basically just a blue light diode. Also they burn out or start to dim much faster than other leds.

Chilled 330 6x mini. Lights are not even hot, not really warm! The driver gets hot.

Mars is charging a tad more at 3.39/diode while ac charges 3.36 per diode
I can’t trust/base calculation off of their calculated ppfd/ppe’s so I’m hoping you could give some advice
Ac has 2688 diodes at “730w” so “3.6ish diodes/w” & is 800$
Mars has 2448 at “800w” so “3.06 diodes/w” & is 722$
