Nu Metal was literally the dopest era to grow up in, I just turned 37 and I will unapologetically saying growing up with Limp Bizkit's first 2 albums, Korn, Deftones, Slipknot, Linkin Park, etc. this was a great era to be alive.

Since the beginning hahaha. Some bands are still jealous. Ex: Corey Taylor. The thing is that it's "cool" to hate the red cap. Limp Bizkit is the most iconic thing from the Nu Metal era for many reasons.
I love how Green Day says “the whole rap metal thing sucks ass” when not even two years later from then they sucked the most ass.

growing up in an all-white suburb, i was an outsider. punk and metal music were at the time the music of rebellion so i gravitated towards it but later on rage against the machine put me onto more of the "conscious" rap out there like public enemy and krs-one, other bands got me into rap, and then kanye west broke down a lot of the lines between the "backpakcers" and the "mainstream" rap. i'm nowhere near as elitist as i once was about "listening to underground rap" as i was in those days but i am thankful that bands like rage put me onto rap that had content i was more interested in

Funny how the people hating on Limp Bizkit and Nu Metal were wrong. Nowadays, people look back at those times and wish we still had music like that around and wish they were back in those days. Music will always evolve. That's the beauty of it.

It's awesome but only depends which bands are you talking about because R.A.T.M. they are definitely the kings of rap rock and the bands like P.O.D., LINKIN PARK, INCUBUS even KID ROCK (I hate that guy but his music is awesome) those bands are great but when you mention LIMP BIZKIT or CRAZY TOWN of course they sound like garbage

The old school rocker/rock bands not totally accept the fact how Rock music now is injected with Hiphop (rap metal). That two genres are totally different but now a days it become one.

I don't care what people say about "Nu Metal" or "Rap Metal"... Korn and Deftones, though they were considered pioneers of Nu Metal, are extremely versatile bands and have pushed the experimentation of Metal to so many levels. These bands truly are Game-changers.
And Korn will forever be my favorite band of all time. They've had some serious hits, and misses, but I praise them to death for just doing things that no one else was doing at the time. We all see the "Freak on a Leash" scatting as legendary now, but I'm sure that initially it was maybe laughed at. So never, ever discourage the inventive, or the experimental. Just try to understand it, before you bash it.

Green day sucks, pop punk has always sucked. grohl has good music but doesn't get the market. Mixing music is a trend that is everywhere today and it's good because it reaches out to a wider audience who otherwise would not be there. Country is in this trend now. Billie Joel is a nerd who wishes he was limp Bizkit in 2000, they were the it band wether you liked it or not. Billy Corgan gets it.
