And then I saw the little ⛓️ what a stunning piece of watchmaking.

There is soooo much to discuss on this watch and it truly is a marvel. I gotta admit the whole lack of constant force thing confused me for a long time in mechanical watches (Hooke sucks sometimes), but I always figured the escapement helped to regulate that force and anything extra would be lost as heat or sound or something like that. Now you got me re-questioning what I know... and now a conical spiral? I assume it narrows at the same rate that energy lost in mainspring weakness, but it confuses me so much that I think I am going to now start buying quartz watches again! Thanks for nothing!! Great video!!

Love it! Lange and their craftsmanship are truly amazing! 1,000 parts! Stunning! The problem with something so grand, it would be worrisome to wear it! An example needs to be kept safe like a fine work of art.
The problem I have as an engineer who loves to work with their hands, is that to me simplicity equals reliability. My fine watches whose name starts with a P, typically have about 130-150 parts with little or no complications. They are not only beautiful but reliable, year after year. Considering the tolerances and precision of such a wondrous piece with 1,000 parts would worry me beyond measure! Bravo!

True car enthusiasts don't buy a Ferrari to leave it in the garage. Beautiful, expensive performance cars were built to be Driven. Exotic cars and exotic watches aren't that much different, even by price. 200,000 Pounds for an Aston Martin, or an A. Lange & Sohne. Same levels of design, engineering, and wizardry. Drive it. Wear it. Enjoy It. If you can afford it, that likely means you earned it. You should always be able to enjoy the fruits of your labours.

I used to sell this brand in a very beautiful environment. I still love the brand forever and I have seen many complications, but this particular one takes my greatest fancy as it is simple and complicated at the same time. It only shows time, no date, no calendar, or moonphase, chronograph, or otherwise 'complicated' but it is so wonderfully retro yet modern with the most accurate start/stop tourbillion there is! KUDOS to the watchmakers! Holy grail watch par excellence.

Lovely shot from the bottom up into the mechanics of the watch!
Any way a brilliant masterpiece of craftsmanship, when I see a Rolex I see just a watch with a name that expresses itself as a status symbol of affordability but not understanding true value than name!
Lange & Sohne, is totally opposite of that, to have one demonstrates the pure luxury we have left in our lives and we celebrate time in a
    Jubilant way.

Well, it’s basic supply and demand. If there’s no or little demand for a product it won’t fetch a high premium like Richard Mille, Patek, Audemars and Rolex do by hyping up their watches with marketing making them more desirable. If there’s a lot of demand but very little supply prices will skyrocket.

You've made the comment more than once that a tourbillon is not a complication. Anything above and beyond the telling of time is by definition a watch complication. Going further, some even consider seconds hands a complication, which is logical, since early watches didn't have them. A separate second hand on a subdial is actually easier to make than a centrally mounted one.

Depending on the day, I might aver that £200,000 is simply too much to spend on a wristwatch. It is beyond the pale for any one person to spend more on a watch than the vast majority of people earn in a year or paid for their home.
But, when the wristwatch is THIS watch, it somehow makes sense. Aspirational for almost everyone, if one has £200,000 of disposable wealth on hand, there are few things in the world I can think of that are worthy of such an investment.
