This is very inspirational. Although I would like to correct some misconceptions : 1. Diet is 90% and exercise is 10%. Yes this maybe hard to believe but thats how it is and for women with pcos sometimes diet is 100%. Sometimes simply going low carb and high protein along with calorie deficit helps in significant weight loss. 2. Its high time people start using exercise to get fit rather than lose weight. Exercise has a million health benefits for every organ of our body and weight loss is just a tiny thing it helps us with. 3. Yoga does help with weight loss, when we use yoga as a form of cardio it does help us get our cardio in also since yoga does involve lot of body weight poses it is a form of resistant training. Your approach towards falling in love with working out is amazing, choosing to find a form of exercise which suited your style and not following chloe ting blindly, amazing mindset to have as a beginner.

It's proven that reducing carbs drastically can worsen pcos. I mostly agree with your advice but I think we need to be careful with words like "low carb" since some women think carbs are the enemie and further worsen their pcos because of it. Anything extreme is not suitable. It's best to focus on mental health, stressing less, yes look at carbs and especially what kind of carbs, but keto for example is not good long term

For background, I was skinny since I was a kid. I gained weight in my teenage years and then got PCOS. I don't known if I have a body dysmorphia. Its been 3 weeks since I started exercising and CalDef. My weight is the same but I could finally wear my short that I couldn't zip. I can also feel that my belly is different but I still see myself as big in the mirror. I wanna cry and just wanna stop eating everything.
    Height: 4'11

I got diagnosed at the age of 14 (got my periods at 13)..
    1. Tried hormone tablets for 3 months (no result- gained some weight)
    2. Tried ayurveda (periods became regular for about 3 months)
    3. Developed an eating disorder and did Chloe ting(more than 3-4 vids per day) (i was so happy after seeing the results.....
But i ended up becoming super tired and sleepy all the time..)
4: started eating healthy...(but ended up gaining that weight back)
5: joined a gym (one month in started gaining weight 🥲)
6:I don't even eat half as much as my thin af friend( who claims to be fat)..I workout for more than 3 hrs a day (at the gym) +extra cardio(30 mins)
So now idk what to do

    • @2d2c2d
      @2d2c2d 2 года назад +29

Girl I've been there. But what you are doing is the worst thing you can do for your pcos.
Doing too much cardio and exercising so much everyday is bad for your stress hormones. If your stress hormones are too high your body will stay in a phase where it thinks it needs to survive. So your body starts to "save" all the food you're eating and stores it as fat - that means you keep gaining weight. So also eating less won't change anything.
So instead of doing 3 hours of cardio and overexercising, try to do a 45 min to max an hour of body weight training. Slow down with your workouts. Do like slow weighted workouts. You can of course keep doing cardio but try not to do too much of it. 2 - 3 times a week max and for like 30-45 minutes is more than enough. It's even better if you do a walking session or yoga and Pilates. Instead of all that cardio just go for a walk. But believe me with the strength training. This helped me so so much. You don't even need weights. Your body weight is enough for the beginning.
Another very IMPORTANT thing ist your eating habits. You need to eat enough. If you stop eating your body will again think that it needs to save the food for survival. So please!! Eat enough. But eat healthy.
Instead of cutting out food groups like carbs or fat..think of what you can ADD instead to make your food healthier.
You need enough protein, enough healthy fats and also enough carbs.
We as pcos patients need to educate ourselves because sadly no doctor helps us enough. They just tell you to lose weight. But we all know it's not easy.
You should get your insulin levels checked. If you have insulin resistance you need to change your lifestyle.
Please girls I just want all of you to know this: you can reverse your pcos symptoms by changing your lifestyle. I got diagnosed at 19, now I'm 26 and I went all these years to so many doctors. But none of them helped me. I got all the information I know from the internet and books.
First thing: don't believe everything. Educate yourself in how your body works to understand your pcos. Once you've done that you can start to heal your body.
If you have Instagram I can really suggest you this account: healthypcos_
This man helped me so much with my pcos. But there are many more.
So please educate yourself about pcos, nutrition, sleep and how your body works.
Sending much love to all my pcos sisters💙

You might not be losing weight because the exercises are raising your cortisol levels. Try cooling down with pilates, and see if that makes a difference for you.Slow weighted workouts and resistance tend to be better for women with PCOS/hormone issues.

For me food was the key,no supplements or anything will work without lifestyle change unfortunately. When I sorted that,I was using castor oil (rubbing into scalp) and I still do that. It’s been almost 2 years and only 8 months ago my hair started growing,it’s taking a LONG time. Good luck 💕
