That is considered a mid-high expenditure, so even with $200-400 less budget you can still have a good live! I hope I don't sounds judging, please enjoy anyway you are happy! cheers!

Such a calm voice, love the way you show real Bali and not the fancy one. I miss it so much, was living there in Ubud during pandemic with my girlfriend and we were renting just a room with shared kitchen and pool for 200$/month and the monthly expenses were much under 1000$ even going out for food moderately. For a young couple was more than enough :)

I love this type of video from our region. I live in Chiang Mai, Thailand. We are a family of four, 2 teenage daughters, and we live on a very modest $1300 USD per month. That includes such things as unlimited mobile data for 4 of us. We don't eat out too often though :) I am hoping to be able to increase this to around $1700 a month in a few years time.....then I feel we will be living like royalty.....lol.....cheers edit: my wife owns her house....so no rental costs
Nice nice, thank u for sharing! I was in Koh Phangan in 2014 for yoga camp for a month nfound Thailand surprisingly expensive compared to Vietnam costs of living, but perhaps that’s cos I was still there in tourist mode. 1.3k usd n 2 teen daughters sound v reasonable indeed!

@@scribble6766 Yes i believe so. 3 years ago we went to Bali and we were shocked just how cheap the cost of living is there. especially, the beautiful huge villas! In the Ph, if you rent those kind of villas the cost would be around x3-4.

Me and my girlfriend lived in Bali for over 6 months and Kuta offered quite big apartments for 3M a month, then as they were too dark we moved to Ubud in a small set of villas called Lilis for 4.2M a month but there was nobody because covid and 2M for eating outside or gojek twice a day xD. Probably we're a very stingy couple but spending 500$ for 2 was already like living a fancy life. For that money you just rent a small apartment here in italy. But to be honest, the only drawback is that supermarket products are extremely expensive, almost 3 times more than in Italy.
heya! wow i dunno how u guys do it! we live simply but we dont exactly limit ourselves n try to live on a budget i guess, but $500 for 2 sounds incredible to me.... ! n yeah we do shop at the supermarket quite a bit we eat a lot haha - we get hungry after surfing. But the fruits n veggies n meat all come from the pasar mostly

I took optional retirement as an English teacher and now living alone in a minimalist lifestyle in a small town in Malaysia, but the cost of living is rising in Malaysia. Bali is seriously magical..Which part of Bali would you recommend to stay that's fairly cheap in terms of accommodation, and cost of living? Enjoyed your video! Kudos to you for taking that plunge. My son is a lawyer and I can see the stress he's going through... sometimes I wonder it it's worth it.
Anywhere outside the main busy areas like Kuta Seminyak Denpasar! If u go to areas that s a tad more remote it always get bit more affordable :) bali is actually quite a big island but most of the action seems to be concentrated particularly in south bali
It’s not really about lowering costs but just we enjoy a simple life generally and don’t feel we need more. Lots of expats here live on higher budgets generally we think
Although the video is excellent and explains many details. As someone who retired here early 2000's I have become aware of the seemingly constant price rises in supermarkets and being charged 'bule' prices which is why i ask my driver to get for me! I think we should wait until Bali is back into full swing and then we may get a better idea of cost of living.
2:49 Your custom work table is bit pricey. (is it made from wood or plywood)? 5:14 try to marinade those wings with lee kum kee hoisin sauce for 24hr in refrigerator, its nice
I live in Canada, and this video just has me in awe!! It costs so much to live here!! We live frugally and have no debt but the cost of living each month is extremely high, especially now because the cost of groceries is skyrocketing.
Thanks for sharing. Good to know that a fellow Singaporean who used to work in a law firm is able to live the simple life in Bali. I think one fear of most Singaporeans is the security and safety in a foreign country. Apart from that I must say the living costs are insanely low!

Thank you for sharing the video! I always wanted to stay in Bali for a month but i thought it might be just a dream, now that I've watch your video and it makes me clear about the budget and it's actually affordable there depending on what kind of lifestyle you wanna live.🏝
heya Eunice! I'm so glad to hear that the video helped u move closer to your goals. it's all quite doable, one just has to take action. Save up a bit, contact a visa agent, u can find an affordable place over Facebook groups for Bali housing easy peasy, n off you go really. Good luck! All the best.

Wow! The prices are deff manageable, it’s really not too expensive! U guys deff do live a simple life which also helps with the expenses. I like how theres markets on the street! Usually the price of fruits and veggies at the market are pretty reasonable!! So nice the beach is free haha! I know some beaches have entrance fees 🤦🏻♀️ very interesting video and helpful to those who are thinking of traveling/living in Bali ☺️❤️
Thanks Alice dear
video yang menarik 👍
nice bahasa indonesia!
Thank you Jean.. for staying in Bali.. your experience will echo through the media of what Bali has to offer.. stay healthy..

Thank u damon! I'll give it a think! MAybe a Cost of Living part 2 instalment haha
Thank u for sharing this price information - so useful! 😍👍🏼
Itu suatu yang murah untuk orang local tapi akan berbeda dengan turis berurusan dengan pajak kendaraan dan document ribet jadi lebih mahal....
very well made movie , with full and assertive information, thanks for sharing
Thank u! Hope it was helpful 🙏😊🤓

Jean & Vitaly, John here in Australia, new subscriber. Originally from Ireland, now live in Oz 40 years! 25+ visits to Bali.
I go to Bali to walk, eat and learn Bahasa. Being 70 years, I will spend time between Bali and Australia.
My bahasa is reasonable and surprises many locals! What Travel Insurance do you use?
Have you got a long-stay visa/digital nomad visa? I will apply for a retirement when I can travel out of Aus.
A very clear video today, with great advice, thank you. In what area you choose to live?
Hi John glad u liked the video. We were on Russian insurance previously but switching to Safetywing soon. We’re located up in the Bukit
I usually start forwarding the clips as boring, but I actually watched the whole thing. Nice video
oh that's really nice to hear - i do the same mostly, we all have such short attention spans these days heh but hey thanks
@@JeanVoronkova 100% most videos are clickbait or not informative. But yours was to the point and real son thanks.
Fantastic and very informative. Well done Jean
Thanks 😄 happy Sunday to u
I scape hustle bustle life in the city and move highlands then I drive 1.5hrs to the beach do island hopping . Almost doing it a decades but I keep on traveling countries but I keep going back home. I love my place very rewarding nature - Philippines
Love your channel, Jean! =) I'm based in the Philippines but I loved Bali the first time my friends and I went there. The vibe there is so relaxing and cost of living is not that high. Please continue to post more content! =)
Is it cheaper to live in Bali than Philippines? I am married to a philipina and was in the Philippines very often. But I was never in Bali. We live in Australia which is very expensive.
@@scribble6766 Yes i believe so. 3 years ago we went to Bali and we were shocked just how cheap the cost of living is there. especially, the beautiful huge villas! In the Ph, if you rent those kind of villas the cost would be around x3-4.
Argghhh, mosquito bite is coming at 7:54 . We could have saved you if this would have been a live stream :) Now red spot and itchy neck at 8:10 .
Anyway, I love your content and enjoy the most relaxing voice on the internet, very calming. All the best!
Hello, Jean !! Thanks, such an interesting, beautifully filmed and edited video, good to get an idea of the local costs. I find myself more interested in how it reveals further, the lifestyle you are both experiencing and enjoying on Bali 😃 👍. Such a lovely place and positive, friendly people. Wishing you all the best, cheers, Don 🙋♂️
Thanks Don 😄 happy Sunday to u

Very helpful, exelllent video that gives viewers an idea what the cost of leaving abroad..
Thank you.

Thanks for the feedback Joey glad u liked the video 😄
Great video showing things in detail and straight to the point 👉 I love it!
Glad u liked!
Hi Jean, I met you and your husband at night Market around 1 week ago. You are soo friendly.. I've Just watched some of your videos, very enjoyed it. Stay healthy 😊
Hey Astini!!! It’s amazing u found our channel online! Thanks for saying hi 🤗 by the way u’re in our new video released this morning! Right at the end bit we mentioned we met u n were so happy U came to chat to us 🤗😄
@@JeanVoronkova Hii Jean, you are very welcome, I've watched the video already really love it 😊😊🤗🤗
I took optional retirement as an English teacher and now living alone in a minimalist lifestyle in a small town in Malaysia, but the cost of living is rising in Malaysia.
Maybe you can choose also Living in West Java...Pangandaran Beach is Cheaper than Bali
Experience is the best teacher.
Thanks for the enlightenment.
Thanks komang 🙏😄
Thanks for sharing! It seems quite affordable to live in Bali. You have found ways to keep costs way down. Good for you!
HI. FROM Florida. A new subscriber.
So glad you enjoyed your life more than ever. THANKS for your videos.
So bestiful.
2:49 Your custom work table is bit pricey. (is it made from wood or plywood)?
5:14 try to marinade those wings with lee kum kee hoisin sauce for 24hr in refrigerator, its nice
Ahah I like the sound of that idea about the hoisin sauce!
I live in Canada, and this video just has me in awe!! It costs so much to live here!! We live frugally and have no debt but the cost of living each month is extremely high, especially now because the cost of groceries is skyrocketing.
I live in Canada too and I agree it's only getting tougher from here... Watching videos like this makes me want to find a way out of this country haha
@@lieaticia me too!!
Canada... inflated living costs, high taxes and mediocre wages 😂
Great information. What about personal safety and security in Bali as a foreigner?
As long as u stay out of Kuta area generally its wonderful. I feel very safe and welcome here as a female and as a bule ( foreigner )....
Salat. 2006 long time ago but best time of my life. Miss Bali, miss the people, miss the spirit. Hope one day in my life I can be back.
Hey Mike, wow bali in 2006 must have been really special too n perhaps less developed than it is today (a good thing I think). Hope u can revisit soon
Very useful information
Thanks for sharing. Good to know that a fellow Singaporean who used to work in a law firm is able to live the simple life in Bali. I think one fear of most Singaporeans is the security and safety in a foreign country. Apart from that I must say the living costs are insanely low!
Thank you so much. Enjoyed your presentation.
Cheers Michael glad u enjoyed the video!
Watching from the Philippines 🇵🇭
