I am an Indonesian and still watch your videos Jean. Enjoy bali and keep up the good work. A tip for prices on anything is check out the e commerce marketplace eg, shopee and tokopedia. It should give you a rough estimate and not get ripped off as a "bule" here. However, do note that shop prices might be slightly higher than prices online. Cheers.

My .02: any mechanical / electrical/ electronic devices - pay full price and buy it new with a warranty. ULNESS you are a natural/ trained engineer/technician and love fixing stuff OR you know the device’s pedigree. Every such device I’ve purchased secondhand without these has led me to grief.
On the other hand - brand-name non-mechanical stuff (knives, free weights, hand tools, sports equipment etc). are an absolute bargain in Asia. Just know what you want and what you’re willing to pay and be patient.
Away from that: Jean, you can take the lady out of the legal profession but you can’t take the legal training out of the lady. The way you break down and present so much information in a short video really speaks to your professional background - so even though you’ve left it, your previous profession still serves you well!

Wow, 42 dollars a month for insurance. That is great. I was paying 100 a month while working at a hospital. 🌱🛡️🌱

When I was traveling I used Safety Wing insurance as well. I’m happy to hear it is a good health insurance to have.

Jean I have questions for you, please. I am resending them to you right now.
    They are:
    1) Have you been to the Tirta Empul water temple? Photos of it look gorgeous.
    2) Does Bali suffer typhoons?
3);Can you smell the erupting volcano smoke or vog? Reports we are getting here in America, are worrying.
    4) How, please, did you come by finding your lovely home? I hear the house search can be tricky, and very touch and go.
Thank you very much for any and all responses you care to give to me.
Have a lovely day, and evening.

Hi Doggie Wog, sorry if I missed your comments previously I don’t always have time to get thru all of them. Nope I haven’t been to Tirta Empul yet but I’ve also heard it’s super lovely. No typhoons here so far but we do get quakes occasionally. Nope we don’t smell nothing. We came by our home via Facebook housing accommodation groups! They work quite well here for finding homes that suit generally 😄

If you brought the dogs with you to Bali, will you do a video on the process, rules, ease and or difficulty of doing so?

    • @JeanVoronkova

Hi Le An, unfortunately our Kitana is a Bali dog. As far as we know, it's not possible to bring or take out dogs from Bali island...... due to their fear of rabies being brought in again.
