    Thank you so much for answering my question! It was so interesting to hear all about the parades. I'm going to Disneyworld next year, so I will now look at Smee and wonder if it's really Princess Jasmine! I imagine they must be a lot of fun to perform in :D Also, please don't feel like you owe us a video or anything like that - we are appreciative when you post. We all understand you have a lot of other stuff going on

    I'm sorry for blowing up your youtube comments but I got picked to help carry the rope in the Magic Kingdom parade when I was in first grade. It was a magical moment and I am now obsessed with Disney.

    Actualy, you can get to Disneyland or DWD without having to audition in the "original" city. There are some auditions in NY, San Diego, and other cities to apply to WDW or DL.

    Dear Jennifer,
    I have seen all of you and Rachel's confession videos and your Q&A and there is one thing you have never talked about witch is, meeting the Make A Wish children, what is that experience like, did you ever get the chance to meet any and how do you keep from getting emotional while visiting them, is that part of your the training???
    P.S.
    Im thinking about auditioning to be a princess probably Repunzel or Anna they are who i feel i resemble the most personality and looks wise, i love your videos and they are definitely a helpful so thank you and cant wait for more videos:)
    Sighed,
    A Disney fan, and Kid at heart, Alyssa.

    What do you recommend for tooth whitening? You and Rachel talked a bit about it in confessions three but I was wondering if you had any more tips. A lot of the yellow in my teeth is genetic and I'm a but too young to be thinking about veneers so I was wondering what you might suggest to at least help hide the yellower spots. Thanks! Also, congrats of your pregnancy!

    Tokyo hs no Mulan, but they do have Poca!
    Paris has Mulan and Poca, but I've heard they're SUPER rare...
    Hong Kong used to have Poca and Mulan, but I heard they haven't been out in years.

    I have been to 4 of the Disneys. That is my "claim to fame" if you will, there were only 4 Disneys at the time and I went to all 4 in 1 year ! Tokyo Disney is my favorite. The rides are different even though they are the same if that makes sense. The Pooh ride was my favorite in Tokyo. Disney Paris was my least favorite and it wasn't just the language issue because I speak French. I hope you get to visit the other Disneys one day.

    I would suppose that part of the rush in a restaurant is having to work the whole room in a timely manner so that people aren't staying at the table past their reservation time. This would mean that the people with the next reservation are seated late, which puts the rest of the night run late. It's really a difficult situation for everyone. I can remember times when we had to sit past finishing a meal to let my kids see all of the characters that come around. I was anxious to get going, but my kids just had to wait to see everyone working the room. There are other times when we would see the characters twice because the food took so long. Timing is everything in the restaurants.

    I'm "mouse height" but I really want to audition to be friends with Mulan, and I'm 2 inches too short. I've heard they're very strict on height (with rare exceptions like you said), but how difficult were the dance parts of the auditions?

    • @OakesPrincess
      @OakesPrincess  9 лет назад

      +Emmily Nguyen the dance parts of the auditions are tricky, I won't lie. But I was also a bad dancer. lol. Are you taking dance classes?? be sure that you are! If you don't take the dance classes you need to get advanced/or improve yourself, then you have to ask yourself whether this is a job you truly want or not. Is it worth fighting for? You can do it! xo

      +Superficial hmmm. I was always married when I was a full time character. Part time I only worked a couple days a week and didn't earn enough working two days a week to support myself. It's an hourly wage job that is above min wage. It's pretty decent but not fantastc,, I don't know if that's enough to live off of alone because I never had to do it. But I will say that I never met a character who lived alone without roommates. Everyone I knew was either married or had roommates. Hope that answers your question! xo

    • @OakesPrincess
      @OakesPrincess  9 лет назад

      +Superficial thanks for calling me princess, lol, I'm such a mom now that it's hard to see myself that way anymore. My daughter is my princess. As far as your height, if Rachel was cast at 5'9" then I'm certain you still have a chance. But like I said, make sure the rest of your audition is on point. xoxoxo (and they need characters of all heights!) xo

    HI! I've totally asked a similar question before and I do believe I got a response, but I'm tweaking it as some things have changed.
    I do a lot of mascot work at my school. I'm usually based more at special events as opposed to games and, consequently, think I'm really good at interaction and spur of the moment actions and pantomimes. So, two questions
    A) Will this background factor into how likely it is I could get cast as a fur character and
    B) What do you know about the fur character casting process?
    Thank you so much!

    • @OakesPrincess
      @OakesPrincess  9 лет назад

      +Ann Rose (lilbunni3) great reply! Also, it reminds me of Rachel's story when she was cast, she was surrounded by girls talking about how they had done this and that and such and such commercial, but then they didn't get cast---Rachel did! xoxoxo

    • @OakesPrincess
      @OakesPrincess  9 лет назад

      +Charlie Ray Have you watched the video series I did with Matt?? confessions of a Disney fur character????? please watch these videos if you haven't already!! Matt had zero fur character experience and he goes into depth about the casting process and what he believes it takes to make it.. he was great. I was also cast not only as face but as a fur character, I wasn't a great dancer, no.. but I had animation skills. I had never been taught animation skills specifically in my acting classes, with the exceptions of maybe having taken improv classes, which may have helped give me an edge. Even though you've had experience working at your school, I'd still suggest improv and commercial style acting classes because I feel they're really useful in Orlando entertainment type jobs, as well as dancing classes. I think it's like the girl who replied to you said, just because you have a background in fur costumes, doesn't necessarily mean you'll be cast. I wish you the best though! xoxo

    great video, Jennifer. Yay. don't ever feel though you have to do videos, we understand the you have a lot on with looking after Ariana, and baby Lucas on way, etc. I often wondered about the characters in parade and now the question has been answered, thanks Jennifer, and thanks to the viewer who asked that particular question. regarding restaurant greetings, I know its a tight ship so to speak, but would it be easier with more characters greeting guests? or I suppose that would be bad, because too crowded if too many people in restaurant. The characters do try their very best Im sure. its gotta be hard when there is so many tables to get to and so little time, so I would understand them rushing to go next table. to be honest, that's why I would prefer actual meet and greets with characters so the time with them is more special. on the other hand, dining with characters especially at Parke Faire dinner with Cinderella and gang would be fun and I notice that Drizella and Anastasia really put on a performance for all to see. that's what I would want to do is go there if I were to go to Disneyworld, and going to Disneyworld is gonna happen! haha Im gonna be sure of it. :)

    • @OakesPrincess
      @OakesPrincess  9 лет назад

      +Belinda Mackenzie haha, I love making videos. I just wish it were easier for me. There's a grass is always greener syndrome I can easily fall into. But also, there's always those one to two people who don't seem to understand why you can't write them back or make more videos.. I think most people do understand, but me being such a wannabe people pleaser makes it hard and they're the reason I apologize all over myself. I don't think it would be easier with more characters greeting guests because those other characters would still have to adhere to a time schedule. There's complicated regulations I can't explain. lol. A character can only be out meeting guests for a certain amount of time.. if they exceed that time then that's when problems happen. lol. I think what would help is if the restaurant seated fewer tables, but of course the restaurant wants to seat as many guests as they can so that they earn the most money that they can, but then.. that's when the rush happens. I think you just have to have down to earth expectations at the restaurant.. but yes, always, always meet and greet outside of restaurants are always, always better in my experience! there's always exceptions. :D wish you the best!

    • @belindamackenzie1285
      @belindamackenzie1285 9 лет назад

      ahh yes you do have a very valid and excellent point regarding the restaurants, I forgot characters do only have short amount of time available..... yes it would be good to have less tables so the characters have that just little bit more time available for guests. I love how at Parke Faire (Disneyworld only) have the Tremaines and oh boy their antics to entertain the guests is just amazing, from what Ive seen in other youtube videos. I just love watching the videos of the characters interacting with guests. your right about another thing too, if only all guests would be ready with their autograph books and picture taking etc, that would be better time management of the guests part. Jennifer, I wouldn't worry about trying to please those few people that fail to understand why you cant upload videos more often etc. anyone who has seen your previous videos can see you have a toddler and pregnant etc, so they should just understand. the main population of your viewers are understanding Im sure. ;)

    • @silvanosanchezify

      Or do you have to be a character? I'm kind of confused. :/

    • @missbonniemalik
      @missbonniemalik 9 лет назад +1

      I'm not sure if it's the same in America but at Disneyland Paris everybody who works there rotates including ropes so even if your cast as a princess you also have to do a fur character, holding the rope after the parades etc so everyone rotates to keep everything going. I know in Paris they drill it into you at an audition that everybody has to do fur including rope people and other things around the park

    • @OakesPrincess
      @OakesPrincess  9 лет назад

    Do you need any qualifications to be a princess, this might be a stupid question. But do you need to have any dance qualifications e.g. GCSE, A-level or just graded exams.

    • @OakesPrincess
      @OakesPrincess  8 лет назад

      +Evie Maddaloni I didn't have any qualifications to be a princess.. I did however, take acting classes in high school and again in college.. I believe that helped me. Definitely. But is it required??? no. Neither did I take dance classes. Do they help? Definitely! but again, not a requirement. They don't check to see how great your grades are.. I had no acting jobs beforehand, not special resume.. just bring yourself and your smile and be as prepared as you can be. xo

Unlikely though because most men are not short enough to portray her.. one guy stands out in my mind among the characters, he was exceptionally short.. perhaps under 5 feet, but his seniority in the company was high and so he could choose which roles he wanted to portray/play. Generally the shorter characters, aka "Mouse Height" were performed by women.. hahaha, I will go as far as to stereotype: Asian/Puerto Rican, A) because Orlando has a decent population of Puerto Rican/Asian cultures, esp Puerto Rican, being so close by, & B) because just overall, these cultures/types of people typically are shorter in height, just as Scandinavian people, in large part, are on the taller side as far as height goes. xo

    I'm sorry to bother, but do you know how tall do Wendy and Alice have to be? I'm 5'0". u_u

      @OakesPrincess  7 лет назад +4

      You're not bothering!! I only wish I could answer everyone! I'll be honest, I don't know the exact answer to your question because I never was friends w/any of the Wendys really and interacted little w/the Alices.. but I know they were petite girls.. I feel like 5'0" would've been too short for what casting at Disney preferred but I honestly can't be certain..audition! it's a fun experience..nerve wrecking and possibly heart breaking, but it's a great experience and it's fun and you honestly won't know until you audition if Disney can use you. I hope you're cast! xo

      +Deraye Martina nothing you do or say is ever gonna separate you from God's love. Romans 8:39 "No power in the sky above or in the earth below-indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord."

      +chubbybunny711 hahaha, yeah! I never thought that it might bug people, it happens in my videos when I render them. My editing software isn't the best, but I'm totally broke at this moment and can't afford new software. (sniff!!!) It can depend on the setting I use, like how fast the video is set at.. if I slow it down it may help but then I worry my video will feel too slow. If you are able to watch the video collab I did w/Josh on DCP, check out part one verses part 2, let me know which speed you prefer, because I'm pretty sure part 2 the lip thing isn't so much of an issue but let me know if it still is in part 2.. only if you have time, of course. Thanks for letting me know! xo

      it doesn't bug me and I hardly notice at all.... only if I deliberately lip read but I understand what you are saying without lip reading, so you don't need to change anything..... because you are very good at public relations (dang it what is the big word for that? lol). nah keep using the software your using, Jennifer. at least the quality of picture with your videos are great.

      Jennifer Oakes I didn't want to say anything as its no big deal and I wasn't sure by saying anything would be appropriate. lol. Im not good at that. Im one to try and point out the good things but if anyone asked me to point out if any mishaps or faults, I would gently point them out. lol. I also didn't want to put any pressure on you (its so hard by words and not in person as I only mean well. ;) hope your well, Jennifer, you are such an awesome and talented lady, and its such an honour to know you and talk to you. :)
