    Can you go into more detail as to different approach to deep rough vs flop shot. You said both open club head and deep rough hit down on ball. I assume flop is more a normal “U” approach to ball tan a “V”? Thank you.

    Awesome tip!! One question, you showed that your left wrist was cupped through the swing. I pretty much do that on every 60 degree shot I take around the green. Is that OK? Someone told me it was no good, but it's been working for me.

    Is there any limit to using this shot as in how deep can the ball be down in the grass before you have to resort to a steep ‚pop-out‘ rescue shot?

  • @joelwatson2015
    @joelwatson2015 4 года назад

    I found myself having to hit out of some strange stuff. It was heavy vegetation made up of clover like leaves but instead of standing up straight like four leaf clover it was matted down as if floating on water. This vegetation was tightly packed and grew about ½ to an inch off the soil base. My club would come down like a chop and bounce before the ball. I got good height on the ball but really no distance. I used sixty degree, 56 degree, 52 degree and then a Pitching wedge and they all basically collected the balls 4 to 6 yards away when I am trying to reach the green 7 yards away and the pin 12 yards away. The matted clover like vegetation very small 3 or 4 leaves came up like a piece of vegetation matt. It was not broken apart but more like ripped out of the larger matted area when the club swung through it. Would you have any suggestions for this kind of play. I hit out of narrowly grass and deep rough well know thanks to your videos on these two types of lies but this clover matted stuff seem to restrain my ball form any real distance. Las Vegas Duffer

    Thanks Matt I've asked so many RUclips instructors how to chip out of exactly this situation and only one other has done it and not explained it like you do. You're the best! Does the bounce degree matter? I have a mac daddy 60° with 8° of bounce. Enough?

  • @rangepro

    outstanding .. the first guy to get on his knees and actually show what happens!.. because golfers are not educated on bounce golf course keep the rough shorter to help them! how about doing a evaluation of wedges (brands) as to the content of head, shaft and grips , swing weight and etc? I was at dicks sporting goods recently and saw a 60* 8 bounce for $40 (top flite) and the Callaway same for $140, I really wondered if the quality was that OF a hugh difference , being they are casted and etc in China.
