Thank You for the driver video. After 40 years of slicing, watching numerous videos and reading instructions in magazines, your 10 minute video changed my game from frustration to excitement. I gained 30 yards on my drive and I’m hitting many more fairways. Your short game instructions are also very helpful, your teaching method is entertaining and the instructions clearly presented and easy to understand.

What a superb tutorial on the driver. I must have watched a thousand driver videos and never got it. You’ve narrowed the hundred elements i have seen that are supposed to magically come together in your head into just a couple of things to do. I cannot wait to try this out. Thank you so much!

After 20 years of playing, some private lessons and a lots of practice buckets, your left wrist "turning the screw" was what was missing in my swing. A BIG thank you!

I’ve been a surf instructor in Waikiki since 98’. Trying to teach the basics and keeping it simple so students get some good long rides. I’m a great instructor an even better surfer. But me and all my friends love golf. I’m. Not good, I shoot 90s and 80s. Still learning. I watched a ton of golf videos. They just messed everything up. But I really enjoy your videos! You are a good instructor. Keep it simple and the material relatable. Love it! 👍🤙🏼

Amazing tutorial, this all is so easy to follow and broken down to simplify it! So many videos complicate it to a degree you cannot follow. I’m consistently over 300 yards now because of this video, awesome!!👍

After having taken lessons, watched numerous videos, this video finally made it click for me. The head cover, distance from the body and hands at ears in particular helped. I can now hit my driver and drive the ball around 270 yards.

Love how you get to the point about the things in the swing most instructors dont want to tell you right away because they milk you for $$$. I went to 10 lessons at Golftec, good lessons. But no one would ever explain the wrists in transition in a simplified way. I learned on RUclips myself after searching and searching. Wish you would have been around 5 years ago....keep up the good work!!

Not sure if you'll read this BUT. Despise the lads lads lads TOV of the channel, I've been attracted by the simplicity of the way you look at golf and swing, this resonates with me since I don't have 10 sesh a week to refine every detail of my game and create one perfect swing and associated "swing thought" for each club and shot. Anyways, I took this class up the range today and applied it, cos it made sense, and could FINALLY deliver consistency to this b... Of a club. It was a miracle. A true f... Miracle. I now have a draw shape, feel comfortable at address and can enjoy driver. Thank you, you've REALLY made a happy golfer. And won a follower.

That take away tip very helpful. Still think your single best when it comes to full swing/driver is "release at target and not at the ball" in another vid. Heard it many times, of course, but not seen demonstrated in quite that way! Well done.

Great video. Your insight on how to describe something is very refreshing. Hands to ear is something everyone can relate to and visualize. Some of the instructors get too technical instead of explaining it in a way regular folks can understand. The way you explain it lets people use their natural athleticism and not get too bogged down with swing mechanics/thoughts. As others said many times before KISS, keep it simple stupid. LOL

  • @HappyCamper334

Thank you for this video, seriously. Two days ago I saw comments of people saying they hit more fairways than ever before after these tips and thought they may have been bots promoting the video.
Fast forward to today, I played a round over the weekend and got more fairways like others have said. Turning the screw was like a lightbulb in my head and my downswing felt much more natural. My single-digit handicap buddy was only hitting it 10-20 yards farther than me from the fairway, whereas I would usually be hitting from some deep rough on the right.

These videos are great, but private lessons give you the immediate feedback that we need. I've taken from these videos, but until I took some lessons again, is when everything came into fruition. I'm 67 years old next week and I'm out driving the 40 year old kiddos. My instructor got me hitting a draw with 230 yards of carry, and I'm crushing my irons.😜😛😁

Definitely a big part of the game i struggle in. The should/toe and hand/ear tip makes so much sense and turning of the screw makes it seem so much more simple. Your tips give you fewer things to think about when on the tee box. Learned more in this short video than watching all of the 20-30 min long videos. Thanks!

This should be compulsory viewing for all slicers. I have watched lots of instructional golf videos and this guy is undoubtedly the best teacher. Wonderful combination of enthusiasm and clarity. And he hits lots of shots to show that he can practice what he preaches! I would only add one thing that is worth trying (on the range, initially) if you are still have problems with the occasional wild slice: put the ball in the middle of your stance. Yes, middle. If you have the club face open at the very bottom of your swing it will be even worse by the time you get to the ball.

Mr. Short game. My best round was probably 105, struggled a lot until you. Now my net will be here this week. Taking my lap top in the yard by hitting mat. Oh yeah, I shot with 92 with 3 puts that lipped out. Mostly from learning how to hit my irons better. Still having distance with my irons. I expect that to get better soon. This has been great for me as a beginner. Felt quite awkward to do during my first few hits at the range but getting more and more comfortable every time. Front shoulder to back toe, hands to ear and turning the screw has helped me tremendously. Can hit some bombs when done correctly. Hit a 284 yard PB straight down the pipe and the feedback through my Driver was awesome.

Matt, I like how you use "front" and "back" instead of left and right. As a lefty golfer it's frustrating when most instructors (who are rightys) use left and right and I have to change it in my head to the opposite. It's easier to comprehend when it's front and back. New subscriber; love the channel.

It’s not easy to suggest that a conscientious golfer take notes but it’s necessary. Writing like the golf swing is a meditative art form. The best way to associate life’s experiences is to quiet one’s mind to excite the imagination! It produces leadership. It internalizes a wealth of information to a personal perspective. Today’s immensely talented young people are being overwhelmed by too much information. Right now the young are just trying to stay on the bull! Thanks

Matt. I went to the range and used this method. I have been really struggling with my driver. To say it has been ugly is giving way too much credit to ugly! Anyway, it took me about 30 minutes to get this process down and feel the different feel. At first, I didn't want to trust the feel in my hands and arms because it was much different than my ugly swing. However, once I got in the right position and "turned the screw", the ball took flight! I was crushing the ball with about 1/2 the effort as before. Previously my swing was too much upright vs rotational and my stance was way too wide. I will keep working on this but thanks for the video!

I'm a senior golfer dealing with decreased flexibility and club speed so I really appreciate all of your videos directed at improving the game of us older players. When it comes to my driver, I tend to drive my right elbow into my right side/hip during my downswing (which I think you suggest) but I think it causes me to lock up so I have a really hard time getting the club face closed at impact. I've tried the "turning the screw" method you described and recommended about 5 months ago but I jammed my right thumb so severely doing that I couldn't grip anything with it very well for about 4 months. It's now been 5 months and my grip is better but I still can't apply enough pressure to open a new jar of Pickles. Any suggestions about how to stop driving my elbow down and inside OR how to get my hands to turn over and close the club face in spite of it?
