I don't when you switched to this set or lighting set up but I love the change. It looked great before but now I feel it looks even more professional. It's always great to see channels grow and change.

You're such an inspiration, Tom! I am 11 years old and love your videos.
I currently have a Canon EOS Rebel T6i and I am saving up for my first rode microphone. I hope to save up my money and buy a Black Magic Ursa Mini 4K cinema camera. You illustrate an impressive channel on camera gear and cameras. Keep up the good work! Zach

Thanks for making this, Tom. I was wondering - with the Lanparte top handle/cheeseplate attached to the top of the camera, is the BM EVF still attachable?

Thanks Tom! This has been very helpful and I purchased my own LanParte rig! I'm having trouble with attaching the camera with the Lanparte baseplate to tripods. Do you have any quick release adapter suggestions? Or any other tips? Thanks again!

Nice looking rig, but the weight is still primarily out front, instead of over the shoulder. The only rig package I've seen that successfully puts the weight of the cam over the shoulder is the Zacuto Indie Recoil, which is cheaper than the Lanparte, but is designed for a DSLR. Have you given the Zacuto a try with the Mini? I'd love to hear what you think of it.

Your videos are very helpful Tom, when is the video coming for ND filters and steadicams, what do you recommend?

  • @g0at3

You mentioned powering the rig off of a gimbal battery. Have you had luck with that? What cable do you use? I've been looking for a more flexible cable. I couldnt get the camera to power on off of the came tv prodigy.
Another option is to wear the battery and run the power to the gimbal via a cable. However the one I have is rather stiff and straight which messes with the stability.

Tom, I have the GH4 and looking for an upgrade. I run the MB speedbooster with cannon glass, so I already have EF lenses ready for the Ursa. Compared to the GH5 vs Ursa mini pro

It would be nice to see a video of your experience shooting in India, what to do and what not to do, Problems and challenges and how you solved it.
Thank you so much for the Rig review.

Hey Tom, I just got the battery pinch plate. Really excited about it, but it only came with one long and one short screw. How did you attach your pinch plate to your ursa mini?

Really like this video. That Rig looks very nice. I may buy the Lanparts shoulder pad baseplate VCT plate for my Sony Rig. Big Question.. What's the larger Zoom on the Ursa Mini you where using and is it EF mount. I'm really interested but need a decent zoom lens that isn't crazy money, like the Fuji Cabrio. the canon 18-80 seems a little limiting. Anyway, thanks again Tom.

Hi, thanks for this review. Appreciated. I gather that the max lensdiameter of the matte box is 100mm. Yet in the breakdown animation section of this review you show it with a Cine style lens which presumably 114mm. Have yo removed the plastic part at the rear, is it light tight? In short is it effective with Cine glass?

    Hello Tom,
thank you for your reviews, these are very useful.
Today the Ursa Mini 4.6 incl BM URSA Viewfinder arrived at our office!
Now we found out the viewfinder needs the tophandle for a proper mounting.
Also we expect in a view days the LanParte URSA Mini Professional Shoulder Kit.
The most complete kit, you said.
Today we found out the viewfinder cannot slide into the Lanparte top handle?
Because the lanparte set is the most complete set, we're looking for just a tophandle. (not a bundle)
Or a component to mount the viewfinder.
Do you think a SMALLRIG Top Plate for Blackmagic URSA mini 1958 is a solution?
Is there maybe an other solution?

Hi Tom, I can't see the baseplate for the top handle in amazon. Your model has the safety button, the amazon link doesn't show the same plate. Any ideas?

putting money aside which mount would be better to buy with the ursa mini 4.6k, PL or EF? and lens wise what should I go for if I'm wanting something up to 120mm?

I checked the links to lanparte rig, but all links just link to the shoulder rig without the focus pull and the matte box.!?!?
Cant find this complete set on BHP, except for the BM cinematic cam

Yes it will work with most of the cinema cameras out there! You can purchase them directly from LanParte USA, just give them a call!

hey Tom Love your work and reviews , would you say that this rig is the heaviest one you have used for the ursa , you see my back hurts from holding a lot of different rigs over the years so how much you think this weighs because I really want it but don't want to hurt my back lol

  • @JLBrooks

Mr. Antos, you said the Mini Pro would also fit in the case with the rig. Could you tell me how, please. Doesn't work for me.

Considering getting this rig for the UMP - out of curiosity, what issue are you having with the case? In what way does it not fit? Otherwise, how are you finding it with your UMP?

Hey Tom, Do you think the normal ursa mini 4k is also worth buying? or should i just save up more to get the 4.6? is it REALLY such a big differents you think?
Love your video's btw! inspired me a lot! greetings from Belgium

However, you cannot attach the BM Viewfinder on that cheese plate. The Viewfinder is the most important attachment, aside from a monitor & lights.

Got a question about the rig, the LanParte V-mount Battery Back Plate is available on amazon, the only LAN Parte battery plate is the one that separate from the camera, not the one like yours that attach on the back of the camera, any solution for this? I really like the way you recommend for the cheap cfast SSD, I got the adapter and the enclosure, now the only problem is to power up the SSD, I know I can do the USB way, but I like the way you did, that is much better than the USB handing around.

Ok but what are the flaws, this video probably sponsored or the guy wants to make that affiliate marketing cash lol. Be rational and nuanced. Good and bad points. And that thing is overpriced.

    • @AntosMedia
      @AntosMedia 8 лет назад +2

I haven't found anything bad. If I did I would mention it as I always do in all my reviews. If you think the price is too much then that can be your negative... for me it wasn't... again it's my opinion.
