The book that I am going to read next is Steve Peter's The Chimp Paradox . I propose to finish reading it by the end of Dec 2020, but it does depend on the demands the book makes on my psyche and any needs thereby... but will read 'some' every day starting today. The reason I will read this one first is because, in my opinion, you first need to understand your mind to be more effective, rationally or even irrationally, to understand yourself and to to help you navigate your life 'better'. Now, regarding my recommendation for a book that have read and have found very useful for many years, and which I even introduced as a practice in my meetings in a previous job, and also on a personal basis is Edward de Bono 6 Thinking Hats. de Bono has authored many books on thinking, social behaviours, etc... have read a few, all in my opinion excellent, and have quite a few to read still... I do take my time with them because I spend considerable time reflecting and incorporating as necessary... the one that I am reading at the moment is Water Logic... I won't say much about it, except that it has already made a difference in my relationships as in general normal Logic is not the norm, in my opinion. Again, thank you for your video. Regards

Thank you! I’m going to go for Bhagavad Gita: Talks Between the Soul and God by Ranchor One the books that changed my life: A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle The above book is the first book I highlighted and felt very guilty about it (defacing a new book) but I can see that you do that a lot
Can't wait to hear what you think of it. I love that book and come back to it again, and again, and again. I like to think of it as studying a book, rather than defacing it. I'd rather have a highlighted, annotated, worn out book which has helped me grow that a perfect book with none of that. What's the point otherwise? As a future author, I'd love to see a book I've written tattered and worn out like that with highlights because it was so inspiring and helpful to my reader, than it sitting gathering dust on a shelf in perfect condition.
@@jagruteepatel3443 Not really. For me the purpose of a book like these is to learn & study how to improve myself. If annotations & note taking helps me work towards that goal, I want to do that. The other stuff you mention are secondary, inessentials that I don't want to allocate any f*cks to. Ultimately, I'm going to leave these books behind anyway at some point - but the lessons I'll always take with me and benefit from. That's what matters to me most.

Regards
OK, just got the book and read the 'About the Book' page and already mentioned something that still impacts me which I am trying to do something about: self-doubt... eager to continue :)

The Shadow Effect: Illuminating the Hidden Power of Your True Self by Deepak Chopra, Debbie Ford, and Marianne Williamson
The 5AM Club by Robin Sharma..The best book I have ever read.
I joined the challenge to know myself as I was being aggressive in small things and I think I was being rude in a way. And if I unlock my potential I would be really happy and I think I could be more polite and concentrate on the things and tasks I do. Since I am a high-school student, I want to be more nice and have focus on the tasks.

One the books that changed my life:
A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle
The above book is the first book I highlighted and felt very guilty about it (defacing a new book) but I can see that you do that a lot
Keshav Bhatt hmm interesting - what about if you lend the said annotated book to a friend/relative? Or sell it on?
Would that bother you?
@@jagruteepatel3443 Not really. For me the purpose of a book like these is to learn & study how to improve myself. If annotations & note taking helps me work towards that goal, I want to do that.
The other stuff you mention are secondary, inessentials that I don't want to allocate any f*cks to.
Ultimately, I'm going to leave these books behind anyway at some point - but the lessons I'll always take with me and benefit from. That's what matters to me most.
This is a heartfelt vid, thank you man.

Law of human nature, Robert Greene Feel this would complete the self help genre by understanding others and how to communicate with others in harmonious fashion which inspires truth, growth and love. Thank you for compiling this amazing list. Have read 70% on this list and they are phenomenal life transforming books each of them are not repetitive like many books out there, simultaneously offering their own unique insight and wisdom.
Thanks so much for such a valuable endorsement of the video - I really wanted a balance of epic-ness & unique insights!

Today was the first time I came across a video of yours. I was thinking how almost every self help book channel all talk about the same books.. The Alchemist, The Power of Now, The Four Agreements, and we'll I think you listed the rest in your video. My point is thank you for stepping out of that I really got excited that I found you and watched your whole video through and am purchasing 2 books you listed that really stood out to me .. 1. The motivation manifesto and bhagavad Gita: talks between the soul and God. I will let you know what I think 🙏🌌 Also, add Taking the Leap (freeing our selves from old habits ans fears) by Pema Chodron. You will really enjoy it that is if you haven't already read it ! 😉 Happy New Year!
Thanks so much 🙏🏽 I really feel the same, and whilst those books are fabulous in their own way. There's so much more out there! I really set out here to add some flavour to the conversation and some different global perspectives. Can't wait to hear how you find them! Happy New year 🎉 ✨

"Meditations" by Marcus Aurelius - Emperor of Rome. It was written mainly to himself, but there are a lot of people who read this book 100 times or more.
