Books are the best containers for information and they've changed my mindset for the better. I compiled all my favorite self development books into one video and separated them into 4 categories: Productivity, Socializing, Confidence, and Awakening. I also provided time stamps so you can flick to whatever book that tickles your fancy~ Which one would you wanna read?
Totally off topic but can you do. A hair styling video please? I got a haircut which is same lenght as yours but now I don't know how to style it . Your hair freaking awesome ❤

I gave that book to my sister, 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. She read it and then immediately went into nursing, now she's doing her dream job. It really helped her a lot. I honestly think it's the best gift I've ever given her.
YOU LOOK SO MATURE WITH YOUR HAIR STYLED THIS WAY JENN!!! Also, I would highly recommend the book health at every size for anyone who has struggles with eating!! It has really helped me
3 necessary skills for personal development: 1. GROWTH mindset - get away from the "fixed mindset" where you are afraid of getting out of your comfort zone. 2. “You’re heart’s desire” by Sonia Choquette really helped me last year and I’ve re-read it at least three times. It’s not just a book but a workbook that allows you to ask your self what you really want in life. It’s easy to read but filled with wisdom. Cannot recommend enough! It gives me motivation ♥️
How To Win Friends & Influence People HAS to be the best self improvement book of all time. & definitely the one that stuck with me, because it gave a nicely detailed description of what to do. trust me when i say, this is a MUST READ!!!
Thank you for sharing ur experience with your trip 🥺 I’m studying this as a therapist in training to help implement psychedelics into the more mainstream psychotherapy and counseling space. I’m so excited to see how they can be used as tools for deep self healing and shaking up harmful patterns of thought! 💖🧠
I'm so thrilled to hear you're studying in that field. Entheogens have been stigmatized for far too long. I'm so excited to see that they're allowed to be researched again and implemented onto folks that may benefit from them.
I'm curious. since they are considered illegal. Where are the author Pollan and all of these people getting the psychedelics. I too think they are helpful, but hard to find. Do people have to spend thousands of $ on a therapist?
Women Who Run With The Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estés. I recently read this book and absolutely loved it. It used myths/folktales/fairytales from around the world to explain the female psyche. Overall, it was an empowering read and helped me appreciate my experiences as a woman and understand my value and the power I shape for myself.
The Power of Now is the wisest book I've ever read and it really helped me to fill myself with love for everyone without being judgmental, bitter or anxious. Definitelyneed to read it again because the first time I read it was years ago :)
Waking Up by Sam Harris - I think this is good companion to Untethered Soul and general meditation practice. It taught me that the self is an illusion - we are not separate souls observing our lives and kind of riding our bodies around. Instead, we are pure consciousness.
I love that you’re recommending books at a time that I need it the most!! I’ve quit social media because of my mental health and wanting to get back into reading! I definitely needed this 😭 thank youuuu for your wisdom💛
I love these recs, thank you! If you’re ever interested, I think it’d be super cool to hear more about your trip experience. It’s something I’m looking into myself for it’s therapeutic potential and I’m always down to hear more about people’s experiences!
I HIGHLY recommend All About Love by bell hooks. It’s my favorite book of all time and I think you’d really enjoy it. It’s about the importance of love mostly from a societal point of view and how it’s missing from our communities. It also talks a lot about how love is an action and not a verb, which is something I never considered when it comes to self love.
I love some of these as well💛. I definitely need to read the book on emotional eating as that’s the reason I was overweight till I was 20. Constantly learning to understand better my mind and what is happening with it so I think that would be a great addition to my bibliotheque.
'Letting go of control, finding Serenity' by Danny Miller is one of the best books I've ever read. If you're a human being it's a must read in my opinion!
I can't help but to stumble on how you (potentially) opposed being social and introvert. Being introvert and social are not opposites, but many people think they are, which is why they are so confused as to how I can both be introvert _and_ social. Introverts generally socialize in a different way and appreciate deeper connections, which is why they might not connect as well with very extrovert people who charge their batteries by being on and by socializing with many people, even just for brief moments. The difference between being introvert and extrovert does not lie in socializing - it lies in the way people charge their batteries (and with whom). That being said, this video just gave me a few more books to put on my To Read List (which just keeps growing after your book videos hahaha)
Yes!! I personally just can't spend long periods of time with people and little time with myself while most people I know find it the norm to want to be around people all the time. I crave connections and I love being social in my own way on my own terms.
i’m halfway thru the vid and every topic she talks about is something i’ve been trying to address for so long 🥺 she’s my favorite youtuber ever since i found her
yess so glad michael polland's book is getting out there! I'm currently study the molecular mechanisms of the therapeutic effects of psychedelics for my PhD .... excited to figure some shit out on this awesome topic!
I love your book recs! New hair is fav, but I must congratulate on bringing out topics that may seem controversial in a honest, critical way. I appreciate that you didn't "filter" yourself and talk the talk about your experiences!
I would recommend The Power of Meaning: Finding Fulfillment in a World Obsessed with Happiness by Emily Smith. She discusses how to reach a state of mind centered around content rather happiness since it waxes and wanes throughout life. It helped me transform my perspective how to approach obstacles and "bad" events in my life.
Loved the conversation about your trip - I had my first in May of last year & I was searching for genuine happiness. Changed my life in ways I was not expecting, especially with how long term the aftermath has been!!
i think it's time for my introverted self to finally read how to win friends and influence people after you recommended it a couple times on this channel already, thank you for this video jenn! your hair looks amazing too btw!
Ahh! I was so excited to see How to Change Your Mind on the list, since I'm reading it right now! How aligning! I even thought to myself "I wonder if Jenn has read this"! Best surprise ever ❤️
I am currently reading How To Change Your Mind!! I bought it some weeks ago because of one of your videos and it arrived this week 🥰 I always love and enjoy your book recommendations so thank you for these videos!
Just finished Atomic Habits and I agree... such a good book! Success is truly depended on our daily habits. So tiny but so powerful! Great book recommendations.
Sometimes I read those self help improvement books but idk how much it can actually change me but just inspire. Easier read than done. I enjoy fiction books or based on true story that take me on an adventure and teach me lessons at the same time
Wild by Cheryl Strayed CHANGED MY LIFE!!!! To read about her 3-month journey on the Pacific Crest trail and the shadow work and realizations she had on that trip is so powerful to me. I was reminded of my journeys and the ways that process unfolds- it was so deep, so viceral, I love it.
Great book recommendations! How to win friends and influence people and atomic habits have influenced in so many different ways! Definitely recommend those as well.
Jenn, really appreciate you being vulnerable and open about your trip experience - have always considered it for similar reasons that you did it. Love that it helped, and love you and your amazing book recs ❤️
This kind of content never gets old - thank you Jenn! I'm so excited to start reading the books on productivity and confidence because those aspects of my life have take a severe hit during lockdown.

Forwago program helped me not just to build a better-looking body, but to feel healthier and to have more energy. I wanted to share this because I think more people should find out about this amazing program. Thank you, Forwago!
I'm so glad you have shared these books with us! I was going through a 2 year self-care journey discovering ways to better myself and my mindset as I was going through a really tough few years. Self development books have really helped me through this journey and can't wait to read some of the books that you have recommended! 💖💖💖
The way you stilled your hair remins me of the hairstyles I saw on old black and white photos of women pilots, it's a so feminine but so empowering hairstyle 🤔🥺❤️
I’ve started reading books in English 3 years ago after watching your 10 must read before you die video and now I read 30 to 50 books each year and feel amazing to have picked up this habit. Thank you for the amazing recommendations and contents you created. ☺️ By the way I would like to recommend Wild swans by Jung Chang, which is one of my favourite books. It’s about the story of three generations of women in the author’s family in China during the 20th century. A tragic tale of nightmarish cruelty and an uplifting story of bravery and survival.
I forgot to give my book recommendation! Notes to Self by Emilie Pine has truly transformed my life. It's a taboo-shattering book where each chapter tackles a taboo (alcoholism, mental illness, rape and infertility), and as she states herself "I wrote the book I needed to read". I recommend reading it again and again throughout your life, and I will recommend it to everyone regardless of gender and age. It is the most important book I have ever read.
I was searching for a book recommendations about self growth and I saw this. I watched the entire video and girl, it blew my mind when you talked about the last book! Thanks for this and will definitely love to read the books you mentioned here. Love from Okinawa 🇯🇵
"The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho. Highly recommend this book is a literal metaphor on connection to source. It helps to reconnect with your silent witness within to feel the wave of gratitude.
Jenn, this is great - 1) love that you take care of yourself, are curious and invest in your learning, and 2) appreciate how you always want to help others with your videos! I also really enjoyed that you have the video sectioned out by segments on the books; it was helpful to know what/how long to expect with each. Much love!
Thanks for sharing your experience with your trip! I know it can be scary to share a private moment like this to the public. One of my professors at my pharmacy school is doing research at the SF VA hospital on microdosing ecstasy in patients with PTSD to help with therapy sessions and the results have been promising!
Thank you for sharing your experiences with us! I'm looking forward to reading a few of these. For me, the book that changed my life was Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents. It's a book that talks about how having parents who are emotionally immature can effect our lives growing up, the choices we make as adults and the kinds of relationships we have with others. It was the first book that had me taking notes like you do for your book reports!
Thank you so much for sharing your experience with psychedelics! Anything referred to as a ‘drug’ or ‘psychoactive’ substance tends (or has tended in the past) to connote something negative. It’s truly amazing to see people open up and fight the stigma surrounding these topics. I am an Asian American who has struggled with my self image and self love for all of my life! My first trip I finally got to see outside myself, and legitimately see myself as beautiful and really mean it. It’s a lesson I’ve carried for years since then, especially as I have started to create ❤️Thank you again for all the book recs and for saving that one for last!
This video makes me so happy! Self-help books have been a lifesaver especially throughout last year, and I love how authors get so real about themes that really changed my perspective. I feel that every time I reread 7 Habits, I always come out with something new from it based on my current life.
Hey Jenn I just wanted to say, you have been my influencer and my rold model!! I love the way how you think positively. You really encouraged me to start doing diet for my health and also seek self-love!! I really want to be like you😘 To summarize, just love you and your work❤
In terms of book recommendations, I do recommend Solaris - Stanislaw Lem. It is a Sci Fi novel, quiet a short read but the psychology in it is fantastic. Even if you watched the movie for this still worth, the book is different.
Start Where You Are by Pema Chodron! I highly recommend! This book shows how we can start where we are by embracing rather than denying the painful aspects of our lives.
The book that helped me is called 'God never blinks' by Regina Brett. It is made of 50 lessons for difficult situations in your life and for me who has just truly started the journey of self-acceptance and self-love it has helped so much. It just makes you relise that life really can be beautiful and sometimes so simple. It made me feel comforted so I really recommend it. Thanks Jen for a great video and your hair looks beautiful. Much love from Croatia😊
So nice how you just started the video with a short intro! And you talked not too slow and not too fast, you came from book to book and said the most interesting things in a clear and informative way! Thank you
i love that you talked about psychedelics and how transformative they have the power to be. i cried watching you talk about your last two book recommendations.
Highly recommend: Talking to Strangers by Malcolm Gladwell!! It was such an eye-opener to the way I interact with my community and the people around me especially during this quarantine and how I can always challenge myself to be better and more aware of my surroundings and behaviors!
Totally sensed that you had had a trip when you'd mentioned in a previous video that you'd felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude, and added that shot of the leaves on a tree, blowing in the wind ;) It's truly life-changing!
I wonder sometimes what it would be like to pick your brain over dinner. That mind of yours is a gem! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and tools to cultivate new perspectives on this life! Much love xx
Thanks for all the great recommendations. You mentioned some of my favorites 🙌. If you like these books, you should check out “the seat of the soul” it’s amazing.
Gosh! In your words, your videos are always a warm hug to my soul! 😍😙 I can never pick one book and say that it is the one that has changed my life. I feel every book I read changes me in some way or the other. I am currently reading 7 habits. I love your book reviews! Your passion for books can be seen in your eyes and it's so contagious! Sending you love. ❤
OMG This is so important! Some of us are so lost and need books that can lift us and make us love ourselves (I speak for myself only) So thank you Jenn! By the way, that haircut looks great on you! Stay healthy and blessed! :)
I love these books recommendations. Thank you! Some I have read, some of them are now on my list. You truly are inspiring, thank you for spreading kindness & new consciousness to me and others as we all are trying to be a better human everyday 💛 sending love and prayers to you and Ben

Thank for showing the chapters that allow us to jump form one to another and knowing the content
I totally agree! Each time I re-read 7 Habits I somehow learn something new.
I saw this video and immediately bought “ the 7 habits of highly effective people “ and I can’t wait to read it ✨✨
Was not expecting to hear about life changing LSD trips in this video but okay jenn !!
Same!! I was thinking trip as in taking trip to the beach! But it really sounded like she did lsd
I highly recommend (Secrets of Sanatan Dharma) available on Amazon and Kindle
I would recommend The Body is Not an Apology. I’m in the process of reading it and really enjoying it! Good for anyone struggling with body image
Love the hair!! ...and the whole fashionable teacher look 🔥
Hey Jenn I just wanted to say, you have been my influencer and my rold model!! I love the way how you think positively. You really encouraged me to start doing diet for my health and also seek self-love!! I really want to be like you😘 To summarize, just love you and your work❤
I love when you do these types of videos!! I read Atomic Habits last summer and it has absolutely changed my life.
It's the book that'll whip you into mental shape! n_n
Byron Katie's "Loving What Is" - a systematic approach to questioning your own thinking. Highly recommend!!
Jenn! Your haircut! Oh my gosh!! Stunning
Thanks Jordyn!! Ugh, isn't it the best book?
i just LOVE how passionate you are when talking about your favourite reads :')
I highly suggest (Secrets of Sanatan Dharma) available on Amazon and Kindle
I wonder sometimes what it would be like to pick your brain over dinner. That mind of yours is a gem! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and tools to cultivate new perspectives on this life! Much love xx
Thanks for all the great recommendations. You mentioned some of my favorites 🙌. If you like these books, you should check out “the seat of the soul” it’s amazing.
I highly recommend (Secrets of Sanatan Dharma) available on Amazon and Kindle
AHHHH this is the first time ive seen this new hair on you!! your face suits short hair so well!! i love it
OMG This is so important! Some of us are so lost and need books that can lift us and make us love ourselves (I speak for myself only)
So thank you Jenn! By the way, that haircut looks great on you!
Stay healthy and blessed! :)
