You always give the best book recs! Love hearing you talk about each one. You always manage to inspire me to read more and I love hearing the way you effortlessly sum up each book for us!
my goal this past year was to read 12 books and i ended up reading 53 which was insane… but i also did cut out television so i guess it makes sense. crying in h mart was one of my top books in 2021, it really stuck with me and listening to michelle’s music is a much more powerful experience now knowing her story. some other books i loved this year were educated by tara westover, song of achilles by madeline miller, little fires everywhere by celeste ng, and pachinko by lee minjin… all SOOO good.
I love that you seek knowledge through books when you're anxious!! All your book choices kind of reflected how you were feeling throughout the year. I read 14 books last year and was a pretty good year. My goal is 25 books this year!!
'I couldn't help but think about my own son reading this book in his teens because I think he would like it' - Lennon just popped out the womb ready to read Murakami 😅
This came right in time. I honestly have never been into reading and I finally visited my local library and picked up Where the Crawdads Sing and loved it. So for the new year I want to read more and now I have the perfect list. Thanks Jenn.
I'm a huge Agatha Christie fan, but I'd have to say And Then There Were None is her most overhyped book. It just hasn't aged well. I'd recommend The Murder of Roger Ackroyd as her best, or The Murder on the Orient Express, which does actually live up to its hype!
R u kidding! 'And then there were non' is a CLASSIC, so it just will never age. Everyone has different tastes of course so I respect that but I'm genuinely surprised because this book is one that I never heard anyone dislike.
@@Swiftie3forever It's certainly a classic, but I think it's a case of the thing that started a trope looking less polished in comparison to the stories that came after. Also for me personally - no spoilers - I found the ending pretty disappointing. It felt like an interesting setup with a payoff that didn't deliver, especially in comparison to her other works.
I read so many of these this year! Norwegian wood was my favorite book I read last year. I’m a boy in his teens, so it’s funny how you mentioned how your son would enjoy it later, just like me 🥲❤️
I really wish you'd stop promoting yeonmi park's book because it's full of lies, might as well be put in the fiction section. Disappointing that you didn't do much research on her tbh.
Jenn, I think you're going to love "All the Light we Cannot See" by Anthony Doerr. ^u^ Very well paced suspense story I think you'll love. Love from San Diego, Jenn Frens.
i love your book videos! now all these parenting books are on my 'to be read' list even though i'm nowhere near getting married, much less becoming a parent (for myself, i'd like marriage before baby) but excited to try these parenting/baby books because babies/humans are super cool and the fact we women can like make life is beyond awe-inspiring.
I have tried three books by Colleen Hoover because her books always got good reviews and Goodreads awards, but they were never my cup of tea. I also read one of Louise Hay's books in 2021, "Experience Your Good Now". I used to listen to the audio version on RUclips many times but never reached to the end. Her soothing and calming voice just put me to sleep before I could finish. Thanks for the reviews, Jenn. "Big Magic" has been on my list for so many years too and I definitely should read it soon.
Ahh, now I want to read Zoo Station, or "Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo", I already saw the movie when I was younger and am scared of drugs ever since. Thank you for reminding me that behind the movie stand this memoir of Christine F.
i’m in love with how diverse your selection is and always go back to your book finds and reviews. even though you’re not exclusively a booktuber, you’re hands-on one of the most favorited book/media related content creators!! (but honestly all lifestyle content is 10/10 from you.) i’ve picked up a lot of the books you recommend onto my tbr list~
Jenn!!! I’ve been going through your old book videos for reading inspo so this video came perfectly!!! Love your book reviews they’re so thorough without giving away too much!!! Appreciate you!!!
My goal was to read 30 books last year! I didn’t reach it but I’m proud of what I did read. Some of my favorites were The Mexican Gothic (very good thriller), A Man Called Ove, Educated, and The House of the Spirits!
The Midnight Library was one of my most disappointing books I read. I think it can have a dangerous messages for people who are on the verge of s u i c i d e.
i just didn't like the concept of the library, seemed to far-fetched even for fiction and honestly, even though it had good gems, it could have done as a simpler story.
I feel like you would like the memoir When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi. Kalanithi had stage four long cancer as I remember correctly and he wrote about his life and struggles dealing with it. He passed away before the book got released. The book really affected me.
Are you on Goodreads? Would love to follow you there throughout the year. Also...SO impressed that you read so many books with a newborn! You go, Mama! I just had my son in June and Libby comes in clutch during those late night breastfeeding sessions. So appreciate all of your recommendations. 😊
hey jenn! i have a book for you to read this year, its called "memoirs of a geisha" im not so into books but its a lovely novel about a young girl in japan who grows up to become an entertainer or a geisha! its my all time favorite and im someone who doesn't really enjoy books but i absolutely loved reading that so i would like to recommend that to you if you haven't already read it!! also wishing you and the family a very happy new year as well!
Appreciate your recommendations! Definitely reading some of them. I’ve never consider myself a reader so the goal was to just start. I finished my 2021 with reading 10 books☺️ one of them was A New Earth as well, a brilliant book!✨
I'm so happy the three books I've read and currently reading are up here! I always check your book recs videos because you give good and concise explanation.
Hi Jenn, thanks for your honest feedback it is truly helpful. One book that really made me laugh this year is 'Parenting the sh*t out of life'. But if you want a podcast on conscious parenting, The Bubbling Adventure is great!
You had inspired me to pick up reading in 2020. I made a goal for 2021, and I’m happy to say that I sealed the year off reading 100 books. Looking forward to more reads this year ☺️
*Lovely set of books* about brave women ♡ been meaning to delve deeper into Haruki Murakami & really want to read Chanel Miller's book! Wonderful, thank you
Am a big lover of books but whenever I fall short of book inspiration I always fall back on your RUclips book rec vedios.I love how you take the effort of summing up each and every book for your viewers. Thank you so much. Looking forward to more of such vedios. Loads Of Love from 🇮🇳India ❤️❤️💕💐
Dear Girls made me CACKLE. As a vietnamese american, it was really great to read about someone's vietnamese upbringing in a comedic and realistic light. One of my favorite books!
Jenn, I also think IEWU didn't meet my expectation, but I think you'd like Reminders Of Him. Especially as a new mom, I think you'd feel for the main characters. Love ya!
Love, love this video! Thank you for all the recommendations. Do you keep track of what you read, like making summaries or taking notes? Love if you could share your method 🥰 And happy new year!
Love you book recommendations, especially th fiction and self-help. I'm always trying to improve myself every year. I will also look back on this video when I become a mom and need good parenting books :)
Jenn's book recs and reviews are always the best! Personally, "It Ends With Us" is way hyped up but there are some good underrated books of CoHo. Jenn, I would recommend you to read Colleen Hoover's "All Your Perfects", it's my favourite among her books and would like to hear your review on it! "Verity" is also a good read, it's kind of a psychology thriller so please give it a shot to those two books.
Ahhh I always love your book review and rec videos!! The way you describe the books inspires me to read more. My goal last year was to read a book a month and ended up reading 13 books! Haven't read this many since middle school 😅
I’m so glad you posted this! My New Years resolution is to read more books and I started off with the Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo based off your recommendation to start. I loved it! Adding these to my list. Thank you thank you!
I'm currently in the middle of "Know My Name". Aside from being a really important story to be told, Chanel Miller's writing style is incredibly stunning. Really good so far!
This is a fabulous list. Thanks, Jenn! I’m definitely hoping to read Dear Girls sometime this year. And I have no reading goal either, just to keep reading 🤓
thanks jenn I'd be putting this on my reading list this year, I always love your book reco especially self-help 💗 try All Your Perfects by Colleen Hoover too ☺️
Thank you for your book recommendations. You summarise each book so well. I now have to motivate myself to get back into reading. I was very lazy last year & had trouble finding motivation to read that I was only able to get halfway through a book (half read, half on audible). Hopefully this year, I am able to get through some of the book that I had bought last year.
I love your book recommendations but I really need to ask, where is your outfit from and what did you pair it with? Pants? Skirt? I am simple in love with it 🤍
Hey Jenn can you please do a video on some tips and Strategies to do while reading to fully understand the books. It will be really hopefully and also my New Years goals is to read more. Love your videos 💜✨☺️
Feel like you completely missed the mark with It Ends With Us tbh, it's far from romance and has a focus on Lily's history with domestic violence and how her own experience of it brings light to her understanding her mother's - and her own strength to break the cycle. Despite the romantic aspects via either male character, I wouldn't characterise the story as a romance and feel the book has a much deeper meaning and focus around Lily's pain and hurt and own experiences with abuse. It's drawn from real life experiences too so I wouldn't water it down to just a love story! (I don't think it is one at all)
I appreciate your comment! This is a great analysis, however, it doesn't change the fact that I didn't love the book. I feel like it should still be categorized as a romance novel, especially since Lily finds love in the end. n_n;
The book is most definitely a romance (romance isn’t exclusive to cheesy rom-com moments and huge declarations and is still the genre regardless of how much darkness that is there in the story). I don’t think categorising it as such should diminish its meaning and discussions on serious topics but rather accentuate all the aspects of the book that are fundamentally about love, whether that be of self or of others.
Does anyone know if she actually gets the books or just gets them all on her kindle?? I want to start getting into reading but don’t know which route to start :)
Ah yay!! Was really looking forward to hearing your 2022 resolutions like you do every year you inspire me so much! Love you book videos always! Adding these to my list!
Thanks for the recommendations! I want to get back into reading so this helps me get motivated. Love that you take notes so you can remember the info in each.
The one book that I will always get people to read when they’re into Self development is Pete Walker’s From Surviving to Thriving. I’m a doctor and 3 years in to self development and healing and this book made my jaw drop and absolutely changed my mind and behaviour. I wish everyone was made to read this in school, so so important for understanding mental health, cptsd and past trauma - give it a go!
❤❤🎆Hello, Warm wishes on New Year to all of our wonderful and very special family and friend. ❤ ❤🎉May you have a meaningful and successful year 2022 that brings you many joys and great big smiles!😊
Hi Jenn! I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend “The Purple Wave- Klara Reid It’s an eye opening book about the importance of Water 🙏🏼 I trust that this comment will reach you and shift your perspectives about water 🙏🏼💧
OMG thank you for sharing your thoughts on And Then There Were None ! I had the hardest time finishing it !!! I dont remember if you'd already tried Higashino Keigo"s books or not but his storytelling is so much more captivating and I appreciate him so much more after the other one :))
I remember being traumatized after seeing the movie of Norwegian Wood as I had no idea what to expect at the start🙈 I'm primarily a non-fiction reader, and I'd like to read In Order to Live as my next non-fiction. I'm currently reading Japanese Women Don't Get Old or Fat again. One I'd recommend is Van Gogh:The Life. Also, congratulations for your little Lennon ☺️ My first came along not long after.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ love you girl hope you guys have a wonderful year ... You are a true blessing in my life.... Oh by the way my name is Felicia but I go by my middle name Renee just wanted to introduce myself and say hi I have been following you and your videos for 6 years now and you're such an inspiration to me love girl💜💜💜💜and your little one is so cute... sorry for talking to much
You always give the best book recs! Love hearing you talk about each one. You always manage to inspire me to read more and I love hearing the way you effortlessly sum up each book for us!
Aww thank you, Weylie!! I wanna know what books your read last year! x
Jenn: "I have no reading goal this year". THE HONESTY is why I am still here years and years later. Love you Jenn.
my goal this past year was to read 12 books and i ended up reading 53 which was insane… but i also did cut out television so i guess it makes sense. crying in h mart was one of my top books in 2021, it really stuck with me and listening to michelle’s music is a much more powerful experience now knowing her story. some other books i loved this year were educated by tara westover, song of achilles by madeline miller, little fires everywhere by celeste ng, and pachinko by lee minjin… all SOOO good.
WOW! That's incredible! Ugh, I loved Song or Achilles, Little Fires Everywhere, and Pachinko too. Great taste! x
You might like Circe if you liked Song of Achilles!
I love that you seek knowledge through books when you're anxious!! All your book choices kind of reflected how you were feeling throughout the year. I read 14 books last year and was a pretty good year. My goal is 25 books this year!!
Yess, I think my self developments definitely revealed my state of mind.
I admire how you were able to read books, edit videos, become a mother, be a wife and update your social media every week♥️♥️♥️ you are my inspiration
'I couldn't help but think about my own son reading this book in his teens because I think he would like it' - Lennon just popped out the womb ready to read Murakami 😅
Ahhhh, first video of the year! So excited to see what 2022 has in store for you Jenn. Obsessed w all of your content but especially the book vids. 💕
Thank you so much, Alexa! x

I’m disappointed to see that too, not to mention yeonmi park aligns herself with the far right, white supremacist crowd too.
Jenn, I think you're going to love "All the Light we Cannot See" by Anthony Doerr. ^u^ Very well paced suspense story I think you'll love. Love from San Diego, Jenn Frens.

Louise Hay has the best ASMR voice with the most reassuring messages. I love listening to her videos on YT too! n_n

Aww thank you! I'm glad you like em! x
Love this! Am I the only one who would rather hang out with books than actual people? 😶
Love it every time you talk about books on your channel, adding them all to my tbr haha! 😁💓
I'm so happy this came back honestly im so into jumping into new books. Thanks Jenn, I appreciate it 🙏🏽 😊
Yess, it's the perfect time to do so! x

YOU HAVE TO READ EDUCATED!!
I always look forward to your book videos! You inspire me to read more. :) Love you, Jenn!
The Midnight Library was one of my most disappointing books I read. I think it can have a dangerous messages for people who are on the verge of s u i c i d e.
Withcindy has my favourite review of Midnight Library. That review is iconic and would definately recommend it instead of reading the actual book.
I had mixed feelings reading that book too. Made me reflect a lot throughout the book in a good way, but I also found it very depressing at times.
i just didn't like the concept of the library, seemed to far-fetched even for fiction and honestly, even though it had good gems, it could have done as a simpler story.
How so?
“ When they all died “ thank you Jenn I don't have to read it now
I feel like you would like the memoir When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi. Kalanithi had stage four long cancer as I remember correctly and he wrote about his life and struggles dealing with it. He passed away before the book got released. The book really affected me.
Always love your book recs, Jenn! 💖
Jennnnnnnn we need an update on what you’re reading august 2022
Really good recommendations! Can you do a video of how you document books that you’ve read? How to remember what the book was about?
I love how different each book was! You had such a diverse list and I can't wait to start a lot of these this year
Are you on Goodreads? Would love to follow you there throughout the year. Also...SO impressed that you read so many books with a newborn! You go, Mama!
I just had my son in June and Libby comes in clutch during those late night breastfeeding sessions. So appreciate all of your recommendations. 😊

I love every video of yours, but book videos are definitely in my faves! 😍 love the lighting in this vid btw ♥️
How did you read so many!? I read Crying In H Mart because of your recommendation and loved it. Looking forward to what you pick up this year :)

Loads Of Love from 🇮🇳India ❤️❤️💕💐
Jenn, do you have a Goodreads account?
Dear Girls made me CACKLE. As a vietnamese american, it was really great to read about someone's vietnamese upbringing in a comedic and realistic light. One of my favorite books!
I was CACKLINGGG all the way through too! Heheheh!
Totally agree on everyone reading A new earth!
I always enjoy listening to you, i love how you express yourself and explain everything. Really good recomendations, thank you for sharing!
I recommend reading “The ruthless elimination of hurry” by John Mark Comer
Great reads, thank you! Even though I knew Michelle's story, reading Crying in H Mart left me in tears so many times.
Ahhh I always love your book review and rec videos!! The way you describe the books inspires me to read more. My goal last year was to read a book a month and ended up reading 13 books! Haven't read this many since middle school 😅
You’re the reason I got back into reading! Yay for books!
Jenn! I love how passionate you talk about all the books you read this year. I’m curious, how do you go about choosing what books to read? Love you! 😘
I’m so glad you posted this! My New Years resolution is to read more books and I started off with the Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo based off your recommendation to start. I loved it! Adding these to my list. Thank you thank you!
Love this video idea! I got some great recommendations marked down on my Goodreads. Would love to see a 2022 version, even if it’s only 3 books 😉
And I have no reading goal either, just to keep reading 🤓

thanks jenn I'd be putting this on my reading list this year, I always love your book reco especially self-help 💗 try All Your Perfects by Colleen Hoover too ☺️
Agree with the It ends with us book. Didn’t feel like it deserved winning an award 😂
Thank you for your book recommendations. You summarise each book so well. I now have to motivate myself to get back into reading. I was very lazy last year & had trouble finding motivation to read that I was only able to get halfway through a book (half read, half on audible). I love your book recommendations but I really need to ask, where is your outfit from and what did you pair it with? Pants? Skirt? I am simple in love with it 🤍
Ily so much tbh, and I wanted to say that I think you'd maybe like the book When Broken Glass Floats it's set in Cambodia during the times of Pol Pot
Hey Jenn can you please do a video on some tips and Strategies to do while reading to fully understand the books. It will be really hopefully and also my New Years goals is to read more. Love your videos 💜✨☺️
The Omnivore’s Dilemma is my favorite book ever! You should check out Cooked by Michael Pollan too. That one is much more lighthearted and fun.
I have a bunch of holds now with the library. Not sure how well I can do with reading them with the twins. LOL.
(I don't think it is one at all)
I appreciate your comment! This is a great analysis, however, it doesn't change the fact that I didn't love the book. I feel like it should still be categorized as a romance novel, especially since Lily finds love in the end. n_n;

Does anyone know if she actually gets the books or just gets them all on her kindle?? I want to start getting into reading but don’t know which route to start :)
love and appreciate the brutal honesty!!! thanks, jenn!
Ah yay!! Was really looking forward to hearing your 2022 resolutions like you do every year you inspire me so much! Love you book videos always! Adding these to my list!
Jenn, do you read hard copy books or listen to them on Audible? ☺️
Thanks for the recommendations! I want to get back into reading so this helps me get motivated. Love that you take notes so you can remember the info in each.
I wanna see your favourite skin care and make up.... Love you jenn
Thank you for always inspiring us Jenn with your knowledge!!
Jenn. Have you read the silent patient? Please give it a try if you haven't.
Thanks for the recommendation Jenn! Always so worth reading what’s on your list 📚 thanks for your honest review 😆

Not sure if you’ve read this already but you should try Breasts and Eggs by Mieko Kawakami!!
I remember being traumatized after seeing the movie of Norwegian Wood as I had no idea what to expect at the start🙈
I'm primarily a non-fiction reader, and I'd like to read In Order to Live as my next non-fiction.
I'm currently reading Japanese Women Don't Get Old or Fat again.
One I'd recommend is Van Gogh:The Life.
Also, congratulations for your little Lennon ☺️ My first came along not long after.
