This video is old, but I never knew about it until today, and I really enjoyed it. Being a huge MGS fan, getting even a little bit of insight is really interesting. I'd love to see more from Ryan!
Ryan was a fantastic guest. I hope you have him on again as soon as you have the chance. It's rare for industry people to be as candid and relaxed as Ryan seemed. Usually in interviews or on podcasts developers seem sort of awkward or hesitant, but Ryan was completely cool and down to earth. If his game does end up coming to Vita I'll be sure to buy it day one :-)

Pretty awesome to hear Ryan´s story. What an amazing experience it must have been to work making a Metal Gear game.
In my opinion, this is the best episode of anything you guys have done, so far. Ryan's story was so engrossing.
FYI if anyone wants more about Ryan Payton's story with Metal Gear, there is a Konami-produced documentary all about him in the MGS 4 LE, which was GameStop exclusive.
Also he hosted the Metal Gear podcast for quite awhile and that used to be downloadable in the game to listen to, not sure if those are still available though.
That’s where I first heard of him. I think it was produced by Victor Lucas’s production company.
So far this is the most enjoyable episode I've listen to yet. Everyone seemed more engaged and Ryan is very well spoken. Keep up the good work!

Wow this was the best Gamescast I've ever watched. Really awesome and insightful. Can't believe I missed it. I wonder what are Ryan's thoughts on the whole Konami thing that happened these past months.
The thing that resonated with me the most about what Ryan said is that if you want to do something like this (I'm Paraphrasing) you need to go all in for something you wanna do, very Inspiring for a guy like me trying to be a good RUclipsr i only have 41k subs and i do appreciate the support people have been giving but i have to be better. I have no idea how someone like Ryan manages to stay so humble after being such a huge part of the games industry. I would've liked a little more attention being put towards Republique, because it's really good. Even though the environments feel like they were made for a small screen and the movement is a little wonky, the episodes that have been released so far are great. This guy needs to come back on the show when all five episodes are out!

I bought it after launch to support Ryan/Hale/Hayter since I don't do Kickstarter, but the controls suck on my only iDevice, the iPhone 5.
I don't do PC games really either so hopefully a Vita version does come out and it does work properly.

I envision living in Japan as something similar to the King of the Hill episode where Bobby forms a relationship of sorts with a random girl over playing a huge DDR machine on the side of a street. I assume they have those on every corner like we do with Starbucks. That can't be TOO far off can it???

Colin is right, there is no way you can be sure the Fireflies were telling the truth. I thought the way they portrayed the Fireflies in the end of the game pretty much showed they were not really good people.
