Greg also gave it a 3/5 good/ok on the old scale so it's interesting that he's now at a 4/10 meh with it now.
I clocked 100s of hours in Sonic Adventure 2 as a kid. Maybe it is a 5/10 but in my heart it is a 10/10 and has shaped me in many ways wether I like it or not.
Immortals of Aveum is at least a 7, maybe an 8. Greg is insane. That’s one of the most underrated games in recent history

It did also come to the Gameboy and the Sega Game Gear. Another 4 out of 10 would be the NES X-Men game. 😊

My impulse picks for 10 thru 5, idk if I've spent enough time with any game to confidently call it a 4 or below:

I would agree with all of your opinions and have the same sentiments until you got to Deathloop - a 6 is wild - but that game seems to be so divisive on people's opinions and feelings. I would say it is an 8 or 9 for me. Also, OG Turok or the reboot that was self titled as Turok? OG Turok at the time was amazing but did age poorly, you could only see like 10 feet out lol I guess that score makes more sense when I think about it.
Missed the discourse on DMC2. That was also my 4/10, that one that first popped in my head, and Tim nails it. It's just lacking all the drive that DMC 1 had. So so boring. Maybe my first notable disappointment in gaming too, coming off being a huge fan of the first.
Man I must have played a different game when I played 12 minutes, never got stuck, had multiple parts I could skip repeat moments. I loved everything about that game one of my top 10 games of that year easy 9 minimum for me. I love to hear stuff like this though, like I said, it's like I played two different games.
I didn't have problems either and liked it enough, finished it no worries, but I would probably give it a 6 or 7, it was alright
Hey Barrett, I know I’m late to this ep and maybe it’s been fixed by now but I thought you might wanna know something I noticed. When Mike talks or sometimes when Greg talks, there’s like a really high pitch note playing and idk why. I’m not sure if like maybe there’s a gate on their channel/mic that’s like turning on and off and they talk because that’s when the high pitch beep happens. Love you guys! You guys are awesome 🤘🏼

MAG is one of those games that deserves to come back as a PS5/PC game.
I was sooo into MAG. From from like 8pm til 4am every night. It was fantastic. I would love to see a return

The fact that you guys think Spider-Man 2 is better than one is wild to me. The story of the first one put its above it, the story of 2 just didn’t hit as hard and didn’t have the emotion and focus of the first. Spider-Man 1 is a 10 for me, 2 is probably an 8.5. Is the combat better in 2? Yes, everything else though I prefer 1.
Sonic Adventure 2 is in the same vain as Goldeneye. Going back now can be rough but it was super fun at the time and the best part was probably the Chao Garden

Ghostwire Tokyo 4 is crazy. It was an 8 for me for sure. Very cool set-pieces, fun abilities and movement. And most inportantly ... such a cool world and setting. The story was a bit meh and the open world was a drag, cant deny that.
The later levels of SA2 are definitely better than the earlier ones. Pyramid cave, final space, crazy gadget, white jungle and green forest are great.
The mech and treasure levels do suck tbh though. But CHAO GARDEN. Game is at least a 6 with Chao garden

It's like Nintendo just treats it as a backburner franchise lastly seeing it in that Battle For Atlas collab with Ubisoft. When instead it should be a series going at full throttle

Thats me. Im the guy who likes Ghostwire Tokyo. I think its a really good representation of the Tokyo area. I think fighting spirits im familiar with is cool. I think it does the fps but not with guns thing better than immortals of aveum. And sneaking up on a faceless businessman and ripping out his core more than his job already has is sick.

I legit love Biomutant- I had such a great time with that game. Loved the world, loved the combat - loved the crafting and the customization and the bosses were awesome. I even loved my silly but fun ending. I’d give it an honest 7.5
If was Dead Rising 2 was trying to “recapture” the magic of 1, it did it. 2 is the best one

Dude I fucking love Oni - I played it with a cheat code that let you use all the different enemies suits and move sets and it was soooo fun! I loved this game - I’d say it’s a 7 at least (for the time)

Bless is right. "Mediocre" is definitely worse than "meh." "Meh" is like saying middle-of-the-road. Your feelings for it are not strong enough in either direction (good or bad), so you just say "meh." Its like "its whatever." Not offensive in any way. "Mediocre," however, takes a definitive stance into "bad" territory. Its leaning more toward negative than positive. To call something mediocre is an insult. Wheres "meh" can be an insult, but it can just be apathetic.

I'm with you. I was hyped for the game. I thought the first couple (of What felt like thousands) trailers were good. Was excited by the glowing reviews.
And I just found it to be completely unexceptional, not very fun, and not very bold and innovative with the time loop concept
Look, it might be a hot take but I actually love Crime Boss Rockay City. I agree it's like 5-3/10 game, but I play it like it's a 10. I even like it better than the game it's ripping off, but it's not good.

The difference between Mediocre and Meh is the line between whether you'll ever touch the game again. Mediocre has nothing exciting nor offensive; you might play a little more if you have nothing better to do. Meh is clearly dismissive; "Meh, I'll pass."
If I hear anything described as "meh" it feels like a polite way to avoid saying "don't bother trying it." But a mediocre movie is still an excuse to eat some popcorn and hangout with friends.
@@arckinenso7615 “meh” isn’t a word that describes the quality of somthing and shouldn’t be used on any kind of semi professional review scale. If they actually used proper descriptive words then everyone would know what the difference was due to the definition of those words.

Too Human is my 1. The worst shit of all time
The video games that I have played in the last 10 years and enjoyed the least are as follows: The Last Of Us, Far Cry 5, Sekiro, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and Sifu. I haven't thought about these games since I've played them long enough to give them a score, but they are all 5 or below for me.

Id put Sonic Adventure 2 over Mario Sunshine. I'm not saying SA2 is an 8 or 9 but more like a 7 especially with the Chao Garden in there.
Mario Sunshine doesn't have a Chao Garden therefore it's inferior.

Idk getting all your abilities and feeling powerful finally basically at the end of the game was a choice. Story was TOP NOTCH though so I feel you on some aspects.

Id give Guardians a 9. I think the gameplay synergizes pretty well across the board. The story was great and it has good moments I feel like a lot of people just really wanted to play as all the guardians
10. Citizen Sleeper
9. Age of Empires II, an easy 10 let down by dodgy expansions.
8. Uncharted 4, a 10 for gameplay, for content, for visuals, all let down by a story that couldn't commit to any of the themes and threats it set up.
7. 12 Minutes, despite Blessing's gripes, I loved the way the story unfolded as you figured out new more desperately terrible things to try. There were plenty of hints in dialogue of what to try next, I get the feeling pushing through it for review let Blessing down. Minus 2 points not for the twist, but for not treating it as something that should be immediately ended. And1 for the unnecessary fluff in between failure and restart.
6. Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days, because I actually really enjoyed it, but can see its many flaws.
5. Breath of the Wild. I'm sorry, I've TRIED to enjoy it, but it really is utterly mediocre. Basically as fun as hunting feathers in AC2. Just mind bogglingly dull combat, the environment is great in screenshots but a vaseline smear in motion, barebonws story if any at all, and the exploration, the entire point of the game, is actively disincentivised and unpleasant until you've grinded through enough of it that it might become worthwhile? I certainly never got that far though. The shrines and the water beast were great and the only reason this wasn't at 2.
4. Modnation Racers. Meh.
3. Redfall, for being a mess at launch, utterly boring with little variety, and still frequently suffering issues even this past weekend. What a mess.
2. Sony's mishandling of Dreams. Just a travesty.
1. Aliens: Colonial Marines, for being a failure in every respect, and for the behind the scenes shenanigans that led to the release of what was basically a scam.
That BOTW take is wild but to each its own.
Spidey 1 is a 9 for narrative and an 8 for gameplay.
Miles is an 8, across the board.
Spidey 2 is a 9.5 for gameplay, an 8.5 for the Kraven stuff, and maybe like a 6 at best for the Venom stuff.
One thing I miss is the stealth from Spidey 1 and the old gadgets, might go back and replay it now it has been remastered
@@TonyTynebridge The gadgets I did miss at first in Spidey 2, once I got used to the new stuff I never thought about the old gadgets though. Super hard disagree on the "stealth" in Spidey 1, that was one of the biggest disappointments with that game.
@@GeneFJacket really? I loved stealthing the construction sites and the gadgets all just boiled down to crowd control whereas the old ones were more situational and multi use. Love the new abilities though and web yank

Okay this slander must stop. Mario Sunshine and Sonic Adventure 2 are two of my favorite games of all time cause I played them as a 5 year old. They didn't make those games for you old heads. You were supposed to be learning algebra not in Chao Garden giving your little Chaos rabbit ears and racing them like my dumb ass. Unfortunately y'all lacked the whimsy for these masterpieces. Im gonna have to disagree with Greg on Ghostwire Tokyo. It wasn't a perfect game at all but I'd give that game a 7. I think a 4 is way too low a score.
Seems like I need to find a new podcast with someone on it who doesn't think FromSoft and Nintendo's generation+ technically outdated games are masterpieces.

Currently paying super mario rpg remake. Holly sh*t it is definition of 5/10. Nintendo should be ashamed for selling that game for 60 dollars.

FFXVI is not a 9. The story is one of the worst in the series. The story gets absolutely derailed mid way. That game is a 6/7 at best.

I should let you all know I have finished all games on this list to credits and platinumed Spider-Man 2 and Elden Ring (almost 2 times). Also think the original god of war games have superior gameplay and puzzles to these new ones. Ragnaroks fixed camera is good for story moments (it’s a much weaker story than 2018 which I’d give a 8.5) and the combat encounters flounder when there’s more than one enemy on screen: they are good in 1v1s mostly but that’s not great when legit every boss fight is weaker than anything in the og games
Ghost of Tsushima is a fine game. It’s just another open world checklist to me and the combat and world design is vastly inferior to Sekiro which is the better shinobi game. The stories it tells are mostly good but the gameplay doesn’t support them well
