Adam Sessler is fucking great. Glad you guys had him on again.
+Chris Leone I'm looking forward to the first ever, appearance number three, from the Sess
Adam needs to be a permanent part of the group.
Didn't age well
Imagine Sessler on Gamescast as a permanent member? Listening to both his and Colin's insight on every episode would be awesome. Good job having Sessler on though guys. I miss that crazy mofo.
I would love Adam Sessler on the Gamescast more often. He has such great insight into the game industry he is always so interesting to listen to. Also he and Colin have a great chemistry
Definitely one of my favorite episodes by far and Colin was on POINT! I love when he goes off and he really gets into the conversation!
I've missed Adam Sessler, cool to see that this is what he's been up to lately. Awesome stuff guys!
29:07 you can see Adam's shock and disbelief as Colin counts his favorite games of the year :D
Adam is the best guest you've ever had on KF Gamescast. Watched him all the time on XPlay and Rev3Games, and he's still awesome.
You guys are awesome! Always love watching
Definitely one of my favorite shows you guys have done. Adam Sess is great. Please have him back some time. Really liked the conversation. Thanks! :)
Gotta love Adam Sessler, great show guys.
By far my favorite guest with a close second followed by Danny. Great GoG and game cast this week. Cheers my best friends
Ohh the good ol days of coming home from school and catching an episode of X-Play...I miss those days. G4 was a great channel for all the nerds out there.
I can totally see myself playing Friday the 13th with my friends! Brilliant concept!
Bloodborne for game of the year
+Ernesto Sanchez I dont see whats so different about bloodborne compared to the other souls games that now somehow makes the game GOTY worthy. I love the souls games but all it is, is faster not better.
+Kalebninja almighty Its not all that different, but Dark Souls games are GOTY worthy IMO, so Bloodborne is definitely worth consideration.
+Ernesto Sanchez FUCKKKKKKK YEAH lol..I said that in studio on my show and on my channel many times ernesto.Let the people know lol, bloodborne is king for 015 next to fallout 4 and witcher 3..
Thanks for stopping by, Adam. Always a pleasure =]
Love the Sess.
A (good) shiver ran through my body when Greg mentioned getting PlayStation Trophies for playing Nintendo games... THE DREAM!
Good episode! Love guests on gamescast
after hearing adam talk about the friday 13th game i am really excited for it, really hope its as good as it sounds.
Legendary episode
YAY!!!! I HAVE MISSED THIS GUY SO MUCH
Miss hearing Adam sessler talk about games. Can't wait for Friday the 13th
Gotta love Adam Sessler.
Love to see more sessler on this channel he is such a cool guy. he meshes well with everyone else. love this channel, Keep it up guys :)
The Friday the 13th game should have a 1 vs 1 mode where someone plays the girl with telekenesis from part 7 or Carrie herself
Discussion of Witcher's size at 39:00. Yes. Just yes. Encapsulates every problem I had with that game.
That was a great Gamescast! (Adam Sessler is awesome)
adam sessler is nice to listen to
I've only played Arkham City, and I liked the Riddler trophies, but when I first started playing, I had no idea that you needed special equipment to solve some, so I wasted a lot of time trying to puzzle out a way to solve a few that I couldn't solve without a gadget I would get later. I guess if I had played Castlevania before that, I would have known
colins questioning is spot on as always
Oh yeah, I remember old Adam S! Before podcasts on RUclips, he and his female co-host on G4TV were so amazingly funny in their first few seasons. XD Nice to see he's still around.
*And yes, I know this is an old podcast but hey, it works!*
Please Adam come back this gaming journalism scene need people like you...
+Sergio Fernandes (stationfreak73) I'm with you on that one dude.. I was devastated when he left Rev3 last year with no foreshadowing at all.
They missed the point that in The Witcher all the sidequest level's are available on the inventary. So it's up to you to read it before engage in fight with a stronger enemy.
+Thiago Dias It does give the player autonomy but it is also a bit overwhelming. There is a sweet spot that I think CDPR will absolutely nail next time around. (I even think you see them address it a bit in the Hearts of Stone DLC.)
+Leoroy Jankans But I really like the fact that the regions in The Witcher are assimetric. The playthrough feels fresh with the unexpected. And I strongly disagree when they bitch about the possibility of the next game of CDPR be larger in terms of content. The company should be praised instead.
The ability and danger to go anywhere is awesome, and I agree they shouldn't be bashed for their ambition. I'm really excited for how big the next game will be.
Mario Sunshine is fantastic...and I remember it getting great reviews. I can't believe Colin is the only one up there who champions that phenomenal game.
KOTOR had an awesome final boss fight lol, I totally spammed a bunch of mines
Friday The 13th The Game looks really good, It's probably one of the first a symmetrical games where I wouldn't mind playing as both sides. L4d I always want to be the infected and evolve I always wanted to be the monster. The concept reminds me of that one game mode in Kane and Lynch 2, and everyone worked together until the end when they inevitably got greedy and tried to take all the money and screwed everyone over (which I love).
Until Dawn, Tales From Borderlands, Witcher 3 - GOTY atm
Fallout 4 will probably be put on that list
+Indeimaus no love for Bloodborne? I agree with everything else on that list btw. Witcher 3 is the current frontrunner for me
I will take a Sessler and Moriarty game analysis session anytime. Thank you.
Liked because of Sessler
The Sess rules!
Address the Sess! I was a huge fan until his doxxing comment, but it's nice to hear him on the Gamescast. Also, Sessler's game sounds great. I love horror games, so great first topic.
I dont understand Colins complaints towards the witcher 3.
In a way it paces itself similar to Dark Souls. If there is an Enemy, you can kill it. I was taking out Griffons on Horseback when their level was a skull. But thats up to you. The enemy level indicator and Mission menu provide enough information, as to whether or not you are the appropriate level. (blade oils, decoctions, Quen, and fighting from horseback can help level the playing field.)
But if you want to take a... smarter approach to it, especially if completing everything (w/out burning yourself out) is your objective, go to each town collecting notices, explore the map, then complete the side quests as their level requirement turns gray before continuing the main quest. Also keep in mind, Side quests and Notices reward hardly any XP (probably to prevent players from leveling up on their own then stomping through the story). The only missions that level Gerlt significantly are the primary and i think some secondary quests.
So as you progress through the game's main story, it will level you enough to be in range for a new handful of missions. This way, you arent left with 60+ missions just sitting around for you to do the whole game.
Thats how I completed the majority of my first play through, which added to the game's charm since i felt like part of the world (like a Claymore from the Manga Claymore). Going from town to town slaying their monsters. On my second play through for the Death March achievement, it also became clear that you can make 2 swords from the witcher gear blueprints in White Orchard and they can easily take you through the game, up until a Certain fight, Under a Certain Tree. Than upgrades are in order. Meaning, the search for stronger weapons and armor is a bit Unnecessary unless you intend to challenge enemies above your level. (the more you build and search, the greater flexibility Geralt will have.)
the game is dense and takes time, its just a bit annoying for Colin to say its the greatest game to overrated a few weeks later, when it seems his main complaint is that he wants to do everything, but doesnt have the time or patients to meet the challenge he is placing on himself, therefor the game isnt as great. Sounds like butthurt sour grapes to me.
+Anon Foruz I too think Colin is unnecessarily hard on Witcher 3. I'm actually heartbroken that no one in the core group obsesses about it, as it is one of my all-time favorite games now. Thankfully, we have Steimer to fill our Witcher void :)
+Anon Foruz I think his ultimate complaint is that *The Witcher 3* is "Too Big" - which personally I find to be an unfair summary - better that he might say that the size of TW3 is incompatible with his Busy Lifestyle
(which involves a lot of travelling and playing a LOT of different games constantly etc - which seems to be a problem familiar to Games Journos / Games media of all stripes also).
I'm not certain such lifestyles are ideally suited to reviewing games of this nature that're deep, ponderous, steeply immersive, and require a proper Time investment without distractions.
Personally I Love these vast single player experiences (I only bother with the ones that look really promising - then I'll do my best to give it the Full Time it deserves), and I would Hope to see even larger / deeper worlds attempted in time to come.
Sales numbers appear to show I'm not exactly in a minority in this desire either - *The Witcher 3* (and MGS5) is _definitely_ the new Benchmark for quality Open-World RPG's that all future Open Worlds will be measured against.
(Also I'm really hoping that *Ghost Recon: Wildlands* is *not* just an open world FPS and they remember GR's roots and make a _Fantastic_ Tactical shooter of mechanical depth - not just FarCry4 'Re-Skinned'
- I Love FC4, but *Ghost Recon* is a different beast altogether)
Colin goes out of his way exaggerate a lot of shit... 99% of the time.
Char Aznable
Yeah, MGS has always had its rabid proponents (although such product idolizing has never been my kinda trip ) - and the hype train in general _has_ been spurting a lot of hot air in web-land around these games in particular these last months - I think ultimately you have to seperate the product-experience itself from the turbulent online narrative circus' to get any personal enjoyment at all out of them......And I agree entirely that the whole structure of journalism in the games industry is in a particularly perilous place (as regards to its perception as independent critical voice - rather than a bunch of 'payed off' regurgitators of corporate PR/marketing).....We'll see, I guess.
I beleive I said that I _hope_ GR:W is not merely open world FPS (and that it has _some_ tasty tactical meat on its bones)....merely a guesstimate, based on Ubis past form (and the apparent present ecology of the games industry in general - I don't have any claims to special insight).
- Honestly, I'm always happy to have such thinking proven wrong, Grok knows we all need as much corrective against the cynicism in our lives as we can get (that shit's like spiritual Xenomorph blood).
Sorry for slow reply.
Those RPGs have skulls over the enemies heads stating how you should probably just run away
My problem with Until Dawn is that the first 2&1/2 to 3 hours is walking around, opening doors and talking before anything big happens.
Where the link to the game?
Loved Arkham games, but I never finished the Riddler trophies on any of the those games! They just felt so out of place! I hated spending 15-30 minutes getting a trophy only to find out that I still have 25-30 more to get along with a story to finish! Aargh!!!!!!!!
They aren't that bad tbh ....
Okay I have 3 very serious questions for Colin here..
Dying Light? Mad Max? Da Fuq?
You guys should add the sess to the show. I'd totally support this show if you do.
Super fun listening to a protracted advertisement for a Kickstarter as a topic. Grade A podcasting right here
/sarcasm
You can get good scores in Metal Gear by playing any number of ways, its doesnt undermine the freedom IMO.
Jason AI has to be like the Alien.
Is it just me or did Colin contradict himself during 45:13 - 45:52? "You would learn your lesson", then he goes on to say that his way of playing Witcher 3 is "exactly the way it was intended". Except that he isn't learning the lesson the game is trying to teach him. That some side-quests are too low and some are too high, and maybe he shouldn't be messing around like an OCD lunatic...
Wonder how Adam feels now in 2019 about his game?
I totally agree with a lot you in this comment section..Sessler isssssssssss the reason why I always give the truth to gamers about these games that we love, be it bad or good.People that spend their money on games DESERVE THE TRUTH ALWAYS and Adam Sessler is the reason why I've been doing that for LONG time now, be it at work in studio or on here on my channel..He should definitely be on the gamescast permanently, I agree stormgazer..
Whatever happened to Morgan Webb?
They make n edit a whole thumbnail of just him
Fuck me this was a good episode
Mr. Sessler has some very healthy ideas that would invigorate the gaming industry, let's hope someone is listening!
Sessler's contribution is brilliant. Sometimes I find the Gamescast can get monotonous depending on the topic, Adam (and his cocaine) sorted that out I think!
xplay and AOTS
My personal favorite game so far is Arkham Knight it just nailed the batman experience the side quests were just presented so perfectly besides the riddler trophies and required use of the batmobile for later missions really hurt the game. All that being said my GOTY is Fallout 4 I have no doubts Bethesda will deliver a great masterpiece like always.
Kevin Perreria and Adam Sessler are the two best guests you could get. Unless ofcourse you could get God Howard. You're channels MAIN focus should be getting Todd Howard to come on.
Friday the 13 remains whit the franchise whit more movies or im wrong.__?
My GOTY by a landslide is Life is Strange. Just fantastic. Also to Colin's complaints about the Riddler trophies. Bro, they are RIDDLER trophies the method that you acquire them is intentionally obtuse. That is the entire point of them. They are a puzzle.
That's not his point, his point is that you're forced to get them to get the true ending.
BloodBorne or Witcher 3 for me.
Where has nick been the last few episodes? It almost felt like they had a falling out a few episodes ago and since then he's been shut out
1:00:00 "They have to get third party support"...doesn't look like that is going to happen
So have you thought about editing the commercial spots into the podcast? I mean, I'm sure everyone on set appreciates the chance to check their cell phones but it puts an unnatural hitch into the middle of the conversation.
ORI AND THE BLINDFOREST GOTY WORTHY
I love Adam sessler I want him to make video game videos and RUclips videos till I die not him
MGSV is amazing but its nowhere near GOTY, it has too many flaws
extremely repetitive pointless side ops, open world is dead, open world isnt really open cause you cant go through or over mountians you just follow the road on the map, regenerating health, limited loadouts, story is lacking, forced multiplayer FOB in singleplayer, to name a few
+MistahBroccoli L Meh. Fallout 4 is going to be a buggy mess and win multiple goty awards so it's safe to say MGSV will sneak some in
Dragon of the Darkness Flame
i agree, all im really saying is MGSV isnt this 10/10 masterpiece everyone is praising it as. the game is fantastic, i have over 120 hours into it alreay but its not without its many flaws
What are these flaws that you speak of ?
i. Cali559. The ones I listed
LET TIM HOST!!!!!
"I think chemical weapons dealers have a more tolerable consumer base than videogames. I am truly embarrassed for this industry." - Adam Sessler
Why is Sessler in his underwear?
coke
for all the people complaining about MGS V not being game of the year because of "blah blah blah" , go take a look at how many hours you have played and go think about your stupid excuses, many games out there wont even pull 15 hours of good gameplay , even with the missing chapter, theres so much gameplay and a good enough story to at least be a runner if not #1 this year... just saying.
heavy rain is not that good
