"Games That Changed Our Lives"
The Last of Us.
that game made me a a better person. thank you ND
Good game... But how exactly did it change you? Stock up on guns and ammo so you don't keep running out when the apocalypse hits?
mozati moo ur just a kid ,go to sleep
you have a school tomorrow
+MAD MAX Oh, come on. What sounded wrong about it?
Byobrulez don't know if should i even bother replying to youtube comments...but this game is the reason why me and my fiancé are expecting a baby in just few more weeks. this game made me want a daughter so bad when i was absolutely refusing the idea of raising a child.
i will always be thankful to ND
mozati moo lol
You are sooo gonna regret this childish decision.Give it a few years, life will happen. No continues friend
1) Command and Conquer - The first one started my love of RTS. Also, began my interest in computers, playing around with the .ini files for the sequels, making new units. Why the f*** aren't games this easily moddable anymore? My friends and I had so much fun testing each others' 'mods' (we were twelve years old!).
2) Metal Gear Solid - This was the game that really broke my concept of what a game should and can be. And this was the game that really sparked my interest in science and technology (weird, I know, the scientists are always used by others). I became interested in genetics and biology because of this game. I interned in a nanoengineering lab while in high school because MGS2 made me interested in nanotech. This game is half the reason I decided to be a scientist and a researcher. Every sequel since has reminded me of that. Currently doing my PhD, and MGSV feels like a final gift and encouragement. Truly, thank you Mr. Kojima.
Inspiring words.
Just want to say that you guys are awesome. I love your 'podcasts' videos. I like how you express your opinions with coherence and personal opinion and you really think as gamers but also with insight of how the business work.
Keep up the great work.
well where I am from (Turkey) we don't have that much digital games... We don't have Amazon, Netflix or any of those. What am I supposed to do then?
"Thank you Halo, you saved our relationship" Lmao!!
Lol how did I just find this? Been looking for a great personable gaming cast this is great.
Check out the game over greggy show aswel not about games but its so good
Parenegade Welcome new Best Friend
I say start with the episode of The Game Over Greggy Show with guest Dave Fenoy. Such a great episode.
+Parenegade Welcome! :)
I'm really suprised that Colin has that "it's about time" mentality when it comes to split screen. Growing up in the late 90s and 2000s, split screen has been an integral reason for my enjoyment with games. Halo especially.
53:38 hahahahahah awkward moment courtesy of Greg Miller and the balls analogy
Just downloaded Final Fantasy 4 cant wait to play it!
I live when Kevin laughs. Makes the jokes even funnier. Now I see why sitcoms have "live audiences" laughing
Super Mario Bros NES, Zelda NES, Final Fantasy Mystic Quest, FF6, Yoshi's Island, Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Phantasy Star Online, Quake 3, Fallout 3, LittleBigPlanet. Those games all changed everything about how I play and think about games.
Greg sold it with that thanksgiving reference
Dragon's Dogma is one game that fits the bill, that game is in my top five favorites of all time and i just wanted dragon's dogma 2 on ps4. Then they announce Dragon's Dogma Online as a free to play mmo and i was incredibly dissapointed. The magic of the first game was playing out an adventure by yourself and nothing breaks that immersion more than hundreds of avatars running around the screen. Same thing with elder scrolls online
cloudbloom Dragon's Dogma 2 made too much sense for capcom, atleast we can look forward to the 7 versions of sfv thats gonna come out over the next few years.
People think I'm crazy when I say it's my favourite game ever, I acknowledge its flaws but there's just a magic to it that I haven't found elsewhere!
I made it to like new game plus 6 in that game, incredible!
Fabbio Scarito Yeah its one of my favorite games from last gen, I was only playing shooters around that time, so i picked it up to try something new and it didn't disappoint.
Another thing about PSO was that online was optional. Makes it still playable on DC.
I loved Thomas Was Alone, absolutely loved it. And the soundtrack is awesome. So I might buy Volume just to support the dev.
Haha! Tim was hilarious in the last 30 seconds of this video. Awesome gamescast guys.
The definitive stance of digital > physical games thing always bothers me. I like my physical library of games. I don't have to wait for them to download, I can swap games with friends for a week, and I can also trade them in when I'm done or if they aren't good. Take The Order for example, bought it at launch for $60, I enjoyed my time with it and got the plat, but it didn't have anything to keep me coming back, so I traded it in for $30 later that month. If I bought it digitally I'd be shit out of luck. If PSN, XBL, or Steam want to buy back my games somehow, or launch at a cheaper price than retail then I might switch, but that's not the case (and I don't think it will be for awhile).
I have to be frugal with my money, and space isn't an issue (suburban Florida), so physical is by far the better option for me. I understand that the situation is different in SF, but that's not the case for everyone.
Trick_2092 not so sure the concept of PSN, XBL etc 'buying back' digital games would ever be a thing, would be brilliant but obviously no incentive for them whatsoever. Agree with you 100% though, digital just doesn't make a whole lot of sense financially if they're not cheaper ( most of the time more expensive!) and there is no possible way to recoup money via trade ins...Expense over convenience for me personally.
I absolutely do believe that when they're making the next core game, there is an expectation that it, in a sense, remains the same. You don't go and see "The Hangover 2" to see a Mel Brooks film, you go to see more of "The Hangover".
Final Fantasy was able to get away with it since, as fans, we still new that the core game was still coming out down the line. When I w=first heard of FF Tactics, I didn't care (although it became one of my favorite games of all time), because I knew that FFVIII was still coming, I knew that I would still get that core FF gameplay in the future. I didn't mind FFXI coming out since I knew FFXII was coming (Though they really shouldn't have gave XI and XIV core game numbers, instead of FF Online and FF Online 2).
This didn't work recently for them though with the shit they pulled with VSXIII and XIII. I didn't care so much that XIII was so garbage because there seemed to be another FF coming out that could give me the experience that I expected, of course they screwed around and instead gave us two more in the XIII line and just led us along with what was going on with VSXIII (now XV), which is why to me the FF series is basically dead. Maybe XV will give it a little bit of life, but SE has shown time and time again that they don't care about it's long term dedicated fans, they never tried to give us FF Tactics 2 or a genuine FF experience all these years.
Metal Gear Solid is practically a remake of MG2! Though, to be fair, every Metal Gear is a remixed version of other games.
I love split-screen! Borderlands was just fine!
Hi guys I love watching your videos very much lol.
I was burned by the first hunter season pass for evolve. i was way to keen for that game and stupidly threw money at it. Since then i'v been more cautious of season passes and DLC.
I played Warrior Within before I played Sands of Time, and I loved the game. I liked Sands of Time better, but the same way they say that "if Uncharted 3 released before Uncharted 2, then it would be everyone's favorite", I think Warrior Within would be more highly regarded if people played it first. The combat was MUCH better in Warrior Within. The Two Thrones was even better.
Kinda Funny nice Jak reference
I like having physical media. Until digital is significantly cheaper than physical, there's no major advantage to buying digital. I bought Evolve digitally and now I'm stuck with it. I don't really like playing with strangers and none of my friends have a PS4, but I didn't think of that until afterwards. If I had a physical copy I could have sold it and gotten most of my money back.
also, I cannot figure out how to transfer saves. I replaced my hard drive and now I lost all my mgs game save. I have the other hard drive but I tried several methods and file kept getting corrupted when I initialized.
Did you guys decide to not cover gamescom this week or did I just miss it?
They record these a week early, they'll probably talk about it next week
Bart Komedy cool thanks
I strongly disagree that the PS1 was superior to the N64. They both had their strenghts, but the N64 delivered the first really believable 3D worlds between the two. PS1 3D games looked so hoaky to me. I owned both as a teen, so it's not fan boying. (had the Saturn too)
I disagree it helped Vita, it is almost miniscule what space is allocated in Ebgames, BB, etc to Vita.
Play Kingdom Hearts Chains of Memories. That game was fucking awesome :D. The other one...358/2 Days or something is ok. But the best non-numbered KH games in awesomeness order are birth by sleep, chains of memories, re:coded, and lastly 358/2 Days
This show rocks
Metal Gear Solid series
I cannot believe it!
Greg I forgot to ask can I borrow your copy of arkham knight oh wait u can't its ones and zeros smh : )
Louis M what?
colin's always right
I think u guys fail to realize is that there qwite a few gamers out there that collect physical games won't be willing to buy nowhere as many games if it was to be all digital.i'm telling u cuz i'am in that category. Also u can't resell your digital game period wtf why buy digital its a waste of money'
I dunno if you guys follow DMX, but the dude isn't that hard to book. I would assume a few thousand dollars. I don't know about you guys, but I would be up to fund a fundme cause to bring DMX in for an episode.
That would be fuckin amazing! Anyone down for this?
Adrian Brood I think he's locked up
Blizz2ColdX2 LOL, just every two months. But he always gets out.
for the worst? final fantasy, resident evil and DMC.
Journey a game that I beat in a hour....15 dollars. OVERRATED. it looked pretty though.
Dakota Shuler Journey is a funny title, I totally got what all the noise was about, even though I played it after everybody had already talked about it. But I still wondered how many players out there wouldn't relate to its vibe enough to enjoy it, think it's worth replaying to see everything that's in it, etc.
Stay Golden !
Halo is moving on without me. My buddy and I played every Halo campaign together with couch co-op. Now that's not an option, so I'm no longer interested.
crackcorn0404 same here. Xbone sold
Mario Mario - Bona fide joystick-toucher.
I feel like Banjo Kazooie is another prime example of changing core mechanics for the worst. Terrible game; all we wanted was Banjo Three damn it!!
I beat the original metal gear solid in 1hr and 16min back in the day. I wsih I had the memory card for proof.
Uncle Uly I am guessing that is without the cutscenes? :)
Nope. Played thru the entire game but with the stealth camo on.
Ok. But aren't the cutscenes over 1 hour long? ;)
+madeoson That depends on the cutscene.
filipeflower Well aren't ALL the cutscenes more than 1 hour combined? :)
Simcity. SIMCITY. WHY EA? WHY?
Interesting
To
Nintendo = shallow game play: CONFIRMED 😜

aipolitics2 The N64 was good But playstation had metal gear solid so it wins.
