I just saw a two minute straplock commercial.
Those can also fail, I've had some fail. You need to screw the strap onto the guitar somehow and even then the screws can rip out. Basically don't be a douche and attempt a guitar swing unless you are Kurt Cobain or Pete Townsend and intend on then smashing the guitar to bits.

There are guitar straps that lock into place so your guitar won't go flying on a flip. I guess that isn't common knowledge.
lesson learned here? Don't try to do a guitar flip move unless you have a good set of strap locks and can actually keep a hold of the thing.
