Oh they are. I have cousins that had him as their janitor growing up! They are both in college now, but they are who told me he was on AGT. They are all very happy and proud of him! Terre Haute has him perform at The Mill and he doesn’t disappoint there either!

I remember Simon Cowell saying that Richard Goodall is our HERO! And that we all need a Hero right now.
I absolutely agree with that sentiment especially considering all the strife & turmoil roiling Americans during this Presidential election.
Just a few months ago, Richard Goodall, an average, unassuming man shyly walked onto the AGT stage to audition yet he impressed so many with the first few notes of 'Don't Stop Believing' like few singers could. And he has continued to shine bright thru all his songs!
Beyond his musical talent, there is something about Richard Goodall that is very endearing & heartwarming. And he reminds us that dreams do come true!

After last season, I didn’t want to see another dog act win AGT, considering that there were a lot of equally good acts this season. Thankfully, a humble man who did this not only for his dreams, but for those who encouraged & inspired him to go after his dreams, especially those middle school students & his wife, he sought out on this journey, and became a real American hero. Heroes not only save lives, but inspire those that it’s never too late to make a difference, and Richard Goodall is a testament to that
This is what the got talent shows should be all about. Nobodies who come from nowhere who don’t do what they’re performing for a living or ever professionally. Good on you Richard. I had a good feeling from the first time I saw you and had a feeling you could go all the way.
Its a reality show. The contest isn't based on talent alone but steered to extract maximum emotions from the targeted audience for lucrative purposes.

What does IN stand for?
I'm so happy. Richard is a good singer. He is not the best singer but to me he represents the average American who hopes for an opportunity to have a better life. Also with his demeanor he inspires people to never give up on their dreams. All the best.
That town he’s from should have a parade in his honor, dismissing school early so all can enjoy his dream. Those kids were a part of the dream. Goes to show an average person can reach the top and dreams come true no matter how old you are, never give up keep reaching for the stars! Congratulations Richard my favorite band in my late teens early twenties you made this old woman feel young again. Thank you!!!!

Terre Haute definitely wont do that. They most likely will do a small concert if anything at the Hulman Center where ISU plays basketball and may have meet n greets at the schools with assemblies. The last time they actually let out school early for anything pop culture related was back in like 99ish when ISU played gonzaga in the NCAA tournament in basketball. They did a half day for that.

@@greeneyes0078 I don’t actually live there but was rooting for him also. I live in Northern Missouri and was saying a parade because we live like 45 minutes from Kansas City and the last 3 Super Bowls that the Kansas City Chiefs won they celebrated with a parade and even our schools where I lived cancelled school each time so the people teachers included that wanted to go to the parade could attend. This last year is the only time there was any problems and unfortunately there was a shooting at the parade that killed at least one person injured others. It had nothing to do with the parade or the football team it was problems between a few people that had to make a joyful occasion into a blood bath. I’m not sure what the population of the town he lives in is but I think they definitely should be proud of him. My heart went out to him after hearing his story and so happy for him and his new wife. So happy he won,he deserved it. 👏🫶🏼

I knew right from the semi finals, Richard was going to win it. He was spectacular. Being a janitor to winning AGT. He is inspiration for this world. I also give credit to the dog act, they were great all year too.

I literally cried,Im from a small town Orange,Texas.we have had many many singers come out of the wood work.9 miles from my hometown,Vidor Texas,George Jones.Janis Joplin,11miles Port Arthur,Texàs.many many.Tracy Byrd Beaumont.its so funny.cause my kids father lived in Terrea Haute,Ind.back when he was 15 hes 61 now.When I hear this man sing it touches my soul.

Richard won as much for his story as his talent, and while he is a very good singer,, I find it hard to believe he won over Roni and Rhythm. IMO

Not me. I don't find it hard to believe at all. Richard's voice is unique, in the same vein as Roy Orbison's. Many people love that.
