I got scared because I thought I was gonna be on here.
Lmao same
Nashid Mamoon omfg same I go there every week with my friend and play drums
same
I feel bad for the people that actually were
kinda bummed that I wasn't.
This is exactly why I never go to guitar center without a game plan
Screaming Scarecrow ...yep" try out equipment...then buy on Amazon.
@@BonafideToolJunkie Buy from Musicians Friend! You get 8% back and there's no tax
Mark Cheetah...thanks for the tip. I've had good experiences with Elderly music and Austin Bazzar giving discounts also. Sam Ash will give a discount ( must ask for it ) but they charge tax which nearly wipes out your savings.
Yeah, Guitar Center online charges tax too. I've noticed a lot of places are unwilling to lower the prices lately, but Musicians Friend routinely sends 15% off coupons through email. Problem is, the coupons usually aren't valid on "good" brands like Gibson and Fender. But if you call them on the phone, they usually WILL honor the coupons.
Mark Cheetah funny thing is guitar center owns musician's friend
Now I feel better about my playing
kyle Warfield same here dude
Let me fix that for ya... > ruclips.net/video/ZMv8739BtiA/видео.htmlm40s
You're welcome.
I thought the same god damn thing.
Yeah, my blues nonsense doesn't feel so bad now...
This is why I always say no when they ask me if I want to "plug it in and try it out."
3:30 I don't think anyone could get paid enough to sit through that shit.
Cheah!
@@torresautobotsoldier I think that any person with functioning ears would be triggered
Sounds like my highschool music class lmao
That legit sounds like something the US would use as psychological warfare against ISIS
You won't see that in my local store in Australia!
It's not as big...but it's certainly not small. But you best be asking before you plug anything in! Even picking up guitars off the wall.. restrict that to two or three times, and only in your price range.
You don't go picking up Custom Shop Gibsons if you're struggling to cover a Squire!
I remember one time I really wanted to try out a bass but this one guy was hogging the amp playing a Yamaha at full blast, literally just galloping on open strings and letting all of them ring at once. And he didn't stop for like 10 minutes. I was with a friend and was like "I'm always so afraid of being judged when I try out a bass and then you have guys like that that literally give zero shits."
There is always that one guy in a music shop
You must be the guy that gives 0 shits, tap without gain, play death metal on clean and most importantly play stair way
"ShirtlessGuy" - easily the worst
Watching this has blown my ego up into the stratosphere.
Not mine it kinda sound like me
@@henripechdepluvinel898 Lol just keep practicing bruh. I remember when I sounded like these guys that's why I like this videos. Bring back memories. Gotta start somewhere.I still practice daily.
Right lol? I feel like Paul Gilbert now.
You mean Stratocaster right ?

PRO TIP: go to Guitar Center on a Monday morning
Edit: NEVER Saturday afternoon
Mark, is that u?
Too late
Umm today is a Saturday afternoon and I went......😳
@@jjboi8252 what a rebel
Pro Tip: Dont go there period.
The drummer was decent on the first one
I think the biggest fail was the guitarist lol. I also thought the drummer wasn't too bad
🤣
His fail was wearing a vest
i think he was an employee
Was that supposed to be Smoke On The Water?
dude guitar center is not to show off. Its to test out gear and it doesnt matter if you are beginner or not
The rule of "Don't be loud and obnoxious" applies to professionals and beginners alike. You can be Steve Vai or some random guy touching a guitar for the first time, if you're just being extremely loud and annoying, you're being a dick. Everyone, and especially new players, should have respect for other's eardrums. New players should *never* feel self conscious or anything like that about playing in public, because we all understand and have been there ourselves, but they should have the decency to keep it down.
royalcat10 in Sam Ash there’s this one guy who has the volume at like 9 and it’s so loud and I can’t even hear myself think.
the only issue is that sometimes you want to test out an amp or guitar at higher volumes before buying it... but yeah, after you're done with that, turn it down.
Most of the time I don't even plug it in, because Lord knows I can't get the damn amps to work anyway.
True, but when you record it and put it on the internet you are 1: stupid and 2: fair game.
That first one is painful.
This whole video is painful
Joakim Kaspersen the whole video is painful
It is lol
@Serial Killa Yeah, the drummer was decent... but he was playing the wrong song
@@panusalin2636 you say that. i've seen bands like that lol
Moral of the story : " Never play above your abilities in Guitar Center"
So for most that means; Just don't play.
But... Adventure!
So beginners aren't allowed to try out instruments at a fucking guitar STORE?
@@Fireglo dont try to make shit up to sound cool, if your a beginner try out some basic stuff
+XyerZen how am I trying to sound cool at all? LMFAO. Beginners don't know what they're doing at all.
First time I picked up a guitar at guitar center, I started playing and about a minute later a tech came around the corner, liked right at me and "what the fuck is that??" Didn't pick up another guitar for a few years.
See I would be tottally opposite, I get killer jam together, return and blow his freaking mind. Payback!
@@free-birdrocker8809 same
That's so mean spirited what a jerk
I remember when I was 11 years old and me and my friends were getting guitars for Christmas 1992. We couldn't play a note but maybe three or four times a week we'd go in to the local guitar/music shop after school and just look at the guitars. One day this kid a few years older than us picked up a guitar and played the intro to Smells Like Teen Spirit. I was blown away. It may as well have been wizardry to me back then. I couldn't believe that someone could actually play it. Me and my friends were in awe.
The innocence of it all haha.

Yeah they arent any good.We all been there. Dont judge these guys too harsh if you arent better at impromptu playing with gear you dont own.
Bro, most of us are, though. There's a certain mechanical skill that's lacking. I agree with your point, by the way. I can't really judge anyone on their journey to becoming a musician but I also feel there's a certain level of ego that goes into a lot of these players and that's when my sympathy dwindles a bit. You can't really improve if you already think you've got it going on.
All in all, I just think your argument was a poor one because many of us can pick up a random, unfamiliar piece of gear for our instrument and perform quite well. Yes, discomfort can create some deviation in our abilities, but it's on a very micro level so this argument doesn't hold up.
Though it is important to show a little humility and not ridicule too fiercely because, like you said, we've all been there. Maybe not exposing our awful playing to the public, but we've all been this awful and it's an integral part of the learning curve.
In music,as long as you keep playing, you ll get better. You dont have to be Gilmour.
Some people can do that but who is we ?
Went to a shop for a guitar setup, jobs done, "heres your guitar sir". Try to do a bend and the strings were a mm away from the fretboard. I did a couple more just to make sure this guy had no idea and left.
Do I care what other people thought of me ? Nah. Half of these guys there were joking around btw, with a camera on their faces.
And I agree, if people doesnt "appreciate" your "talent" maybe you need more practice. But I ve seen people play like crap one day and perform decently the other.
Not everyone is a pro, in fact the pros today are the minority.
Αlso ελληνας ρε?
yeah, you can tell these guys have 0 technique, they put 0 time in effort in to playing, but they are acting like they are fuckin gettn' it. i dont EVER judg a persons skill leve when they are learning the craft, bet its clear that these peole in this video are disrespectfull clowns and are making a mockery of guitar....and if i were working there i would make them leave.
Your trolling needs better spelling.
Totally agree thx some ones actually being nice
This is probably the most effective ad for headphones I've ever seen.
This vid makes me sad, we making fun of them for having fun :( even if you suck pick up a guitar, even if you learn one song it'll be fun to play over and over. And if people think you suck, guitar amp noise will drown them out haha 😂
1:48 now that's my jam!
Well this was pointless
1:49 the real fail was the line 6 he's playing with
Probably mic quality too. Ik what song they're playing. Probably aren't playing it too badly. But Holy shit the gain is way too high and way too much treble 😂
80% of customers in a music store: "Hey, let's go into a music store and play really loud so nobody can hear the phones or talk to each other and get really offended when employees ask us to stop playing."
I had a hell of a jam with a couple of guys in Guitar Center. They were playing GNR tunes and were Slash and Izzy'ing well enough that I turned up the bass amp and joined in. The in turn turned up, we finished Jungle and almost got through Sweet Child before the employees told us we sounded great but needed to turn down so they didn't get in trouble for missing phone calls. The Gibson bus and rep was there as well, he made a call and offered me a Thunderbird bass at "artist cost" but I still couldn't afford it. Good time, true story!
should have asked for a grabber
3:04 guess you guys aren’t ready for that yet, but your kids are gonna love it.
The one before that actually sounds so cool i think imma try sampling that with my novation circuit. Sounds very nes game like, kinda like earth bound
Guy on the drums was just fulfilling his childhood dream of being an ambulance
That was me, some fat dude came up and said, do you want to be famous, I said ok, I play guitar not drums. Ambulance in Europe..I lived there. Lol.😉🎸🎶
I play guitar not because I’m good at it, but because I like it.
props to the first drummer guy for knowing how to at least follow along and match with his band mates unlike those two who couldn’t agree on one tempo
Disclosure: this video is Fred Durst's "band audition reality show" for Limp Bizkit's new line up. Spoiler alert: they all got the job !!!! new album drops.....in the garbage.
Ain’t gonna lie the guy with the blue V isint too bad he just looks like a church band member tryna play metal
One of the BIGGEST fails of GC was to not put a stage at most of the larger stores and encourage people to come together to jam. It supports the business in so many ways and they never did it.
Any assortment of notes played fast= skilled
I’m glad yall feel the need to call out beginner musicians
that first dude should never be allowed to touch a guitar
That second guy stole my solo!
1:57 clearly the audio was messed up by all the bees infesting the microphone
Most of these have to be deliberate/jokes lmfao
Nope, the joke was played on them..
2:12 "If you break it, you buy it."

*THAT GUY WAS A FUCKING IDIOT . HE WAS PROBABLY A DUMBASS TRUST FUND KID .*
Why do I watch this video when I actually work at the guitar center, this is like every day for me and I'm on vacation
hahahah
03:46 I'd want to kill myself if I worked at guitar center
There's a whole lot of the Dunning Kruger effect going on at guitar centers everywhere.
None you understand the genius just put in display in this video. Every person here was extremely experimental and far behind our time. Except for the second guy, he just sucked.
LOL!
This feels less cringey and more relatable for me
I would learn to play first, waaay before i did it in public lmao!
Imagine waking up one day and being a pro and forgetting the practice part
That dude playing the 8-string with the ICP hat on is my favorite
#2 Who needs scales when I have sunglasses and hair gel!
0:27 "When the midlife crisis kicks in"
The 2nd last guy was the least crap out all of them 😂
This is why when I tinker with guitars, I'd rather do it with a speaker with headphones to plug in, so no one can hear my shitty attempts at playing xD
The failures here are from trying to play far above your actual ability. Be yourself.
So, it’s not that they suck, we all did (or do), but it’s the audacity to plug in….in public…..when you’re bad! Lol 😂
And that is why I live life in the Low Zone... Low Volume Zone, that is.
My first guitar came in the mail today. Never played an instrument before.
Someday, I hope to be as bad as the people in this video.
I've been playing bass for 32+years. To this day I don't ever turn up too loud in any music store.
I'm not there to show off. I've had dudes come in to look at basses and are scared to play in front of me. I insist they sit down and play. I will give them pointers or answer any questions they have about playing and techniques that can help them grow as a musician.
Now in this video I bet ya more than half of these dudes think they are awesome. The kind of "musicians" who will never be humble enough to except constructive criticism. Then wonder why they never have anyone to play with.
Humility my dudes and dudettes!
Sunglasses indoors are always an immediate fail
I've never played guitar but after watching this, I'm confident I can pull it off.
1:04 the ICP hat just puts the icing on the cake
Hahaha.... I go in ask for a 7 String RG Prestige and a John Petrucci Sig Boogie head. And dude wasn't too enthusiastic. Sit down tweak a bit, look up, both dudes at the counter are staring at me...I was like "Need me to turn it down?" They were like "NO KEEP PLAYING!!!, you make me want to pull the screwdriver out of my ear I placed there because of other customers"
I would never make fun of someone learning to play. Now someone who is playing badly with the confidence of Rock George? They're fair game.
Going into the last guitar Center is like going to a concert where 10 amateur bands are all playing random things at the same time on the same stage
There's a direct correlation between suckiness and loudness.
Like come on what we're you expecting those people aren't professional they're just having fun. Really cringe is what you find cringe
I'm sure it gets wild sometimes but my Guitar Center is filled with a bunch of introverts. A guy tests a crash cymbal on the big rack, immediately stops it and looks around like sorry! Guitars are unplugged, keyboards turned way down, and headphones in the electronic drums instead of the monitor.
Meanwhile I'm running around making sure my 9 year doesn't break something, because she wants to try everything, and I don't want to have to pay for it.
That’s everyday, every minute in GuitarCenter. In fact if you have live cam right now, it’s exactly this video.
Hey man, everybody's got to start somewhere. That's why I hate going into Guitar Center. I'm just a basement hacker and I don't need people judging my abilities.
I hate how people just think its okay to film complete strangers without their permission. its so creepy and rude. these people are chilling, living their lives, and you’re gonna secretly film them? this shit needs to be illegal worldwide.
It's almost like you're not going to get what your mom called "your amazing talent" discovered by a secret undercover talent agent at the guitar center even if you play at full volume for hours on equipment you can't even afford and have no idea how to properly use.
I can't play guitar but I can play better than these guy's on here lol
I run my own guitar amp repairs business and it's based out the back of a guitar shop. I have to listen to that sort of thing everyday. And what's worse than that. Is when they are really feckin loud with it to. Not my shop so I can't say nothing
Oof
fails? seems more like the average day at guitar center
Well most of it isn't cringy at all most of it is just practicing like but some of them are a bit bad but it's all practice and practice is good 🙁🤨😐
A bit?... And I didn't hear any practicing...
@@michaelangeloh.5383 yeah still there not really touring either
It's like you are a pretty decent player but a soon as you cross the threshold your brain has a meltdown.
My jaw literally dropped in how disgusted I was 3 second in the second clip.
Please, PLEASE at least learn to play your instrument before you blast the noise equivalent of aids through the entire guitar store
Anyone ever notice it is the clean tone players who really do some mind blowing shit? It is usually some random person sitting next to a lunchbox amp or a small combo, light reverb, neck pickup, Volume rolled slightly down on the axe, gain about noon, some classic guitar in hand off to the side or in the corner of the room. This is something I have been witnessing for years. I am not sure what to make of it.
That first one definitely looks more like a Best Buy rather than a GC
For the record.
It's ok to play like a beginner. Nobody at the store is going to laugh at you or judge you as long as you don't crank the amp. You'd be surprised at how many people don't wanna go to the store just because they think they'll get made fun of. The staff aren't going to crap on you for your playing because at the end of the day, you're a customer.
Just please, for the love of God, don't post yourself on the internet and think you're good.
Some people should never be allowed near an instrument...
I worked here after High School. It was awful.
The combination of corporate dystopia mixed with aspiring artistry in one musty building sucks the soul out of you like nothing else.
The sad truth is that all those instruments were sold as new
This how I think i sound like when the amp is past 0.1 volume
It's kinda sad that videos like this exist. Even the best guitar players play some cringy shit on a regular basis. New musicians shouldn't have to worry about someone possibly recording them in an attempt to embarrase them, and make a buck on RUclips.
My man at 2:50 was like Ross of friends 😂
1:44 what kind of knives and pens cover was that... Oh god... My ears...
Why you should never buy a floor model.
**What's the average lifespan of a music store employee, before they kill themselves as a result of having to experience this every day?**
1:40 he thought that just because he was holding a the "dimebag Darrel" guitar he could play like him
That face at 3:50 sums it all. The last clip was too epic
that whole clip was unreal
all i see is people who are still learning and yet still enjoying themselves. we all sucked at first.
Everyone starts somewhere, you only suck when you don't realize your level, ability, and need for practice over your own ego.
I feel much better about my own guitar playing after watching this haha
It's what I'd expect from a 5 string bassist
There’s no way half of these aren’t fake or trolls. I refuse there are actual people who play smoke on the water and try to sweep pick this bad.
Last time i played in a Guitar store, i got offered a teaching job…🤷♂️
Literally you take your guitar to guitar center and pay them to fuck it up
