  • Values do all the work but colours get the credit. A House Crow is predominantly a monotonous bird. However by properly applying light and value, you can paint him in any colour you like and still get a lovely result. To understand value in a reference image, I often use Adobe Photoshop. In this video, I teach you how to do the same.
    I begun learning watercolours by painting the birds around me, here in India. Wildlife art is my specialty. I've now painted close to a 100 birds, each a little bit different in execution. #wildlifeart #corvids #loosewatercolor

    The materials I use in this demo are as follows:
    Paper: Baohong, Cold-press, 100% cotton paper. 14" x 10"
    Paints: Assorted artist grade watercolours from White Nights, Mijello, Sennelier etc
    Brushes: Combination of round and flat brushes from Da Vinci, Princeton and generic makes.
    Pencils, erasers, masking fluid, masking tape...

      These are very basic features. I'm sure most photo editing software will have them. Even the free ones.
