- Practicing daily is the fastest way to improve your art. In this video, I show you how to sketch a simple scene in 30 minutes, using a ink and wash technique.
I am a regular urban sketcher, actively involved with Urbansketchers Mumbai chapter. I often use this technique when I am sketching outdoors with limited time available. It relies heavily upon identifying big shapes and building values.

Beautiful composition...mix of warm and cool
I love that you take regular photos as a reference and not overly draamtic shots- not that there is anything wrong with them.
Your painting turned out lovely 🥰
I try to find beauty in simple everyday scenes. I feel it is a pointless challenge using a very dramatic reference as my sketch will likely be second best.
I like very much this style.. I will try it..I saved the video. Thank you❤
You’re welcome 😊
I'm glad you found it to be useful.
So beautiful, and inspiring.
Thankyou! Glad you enjoyed it.
Holy cow that's really excellent!
TY. Glad you like it!
Hello, I’m new friend 🎉 your artworks are very beautiful 😍
Thanks and welcome!
Aw bless you, thank you for sharing when you pushed it too far. I think that is fascinating to watch, along with your evaluation.
Glad you enjoyed it.
Overworking a piece is such a relatable experience, right? I've even seen master artists admit to it during demos.
@linewashbirb1 I also have a tendency to leave things looking unfinished, for fear of spoiling it, although I'm getting better at pushing through that stage
I wish you showed reference 😊
Oops! Sorry. That was a deliberate editing choice.
If you'd like the reference image, its available in the video description.
