I’m a taxi driver in Blackpool so can answer the question about the hotel above spyglass… It’s still going ahead. The original contractors started the work and the council weren’t happy with the quality of their work, so they lost the contract and now they’re looking for someone new to finish the work.
Oh wow! I hope they maintain the outside of the building, it looks a right shame already! Appreciate the info on that Callum, nice one! The concepts looked great so hopefully new contractors can get it looking great again
If they build another hotel it would make sense to bring back the wristband / ride tickets options and have ERT for all hotel guests as an exclusive which would also be a different offering to the other new hotels opening in Blackpool
I’d make a special trip to BPB to stay in a room themed after the Virginia Reel! Loved that crazy ride. A mural based on the bubble decor of its last few seasons would be a good start.
Agreed! If the resort brand is here to stay, another hotel that could probably just be named after the park that’s closer to the entrance than the other two would not be a bad move. Themed rooms must be attempted too! I guess we wait and see
I'd love that and some big entrance attraction like a ride or something would be great to look at outside of that hotel room just as Big One is the main attraction outside of Big Blue / Boulevard. God I've love to be on their creative team for ideas, there's SO much they could do!
@@theme_parkmad Oh no the new entrance would be horrible.. but having the hotel as the entrance... they could have a whole new entrance and some really cool views of new rides etc that would be great... instead of opening your curtains to an SBNO ice blast aha
Great shout. Stick some Nickelodeon themed rooms in too, to attract the families in. That and some kids entertainment in the evenings would get them flocking in.
It really would, that's if the Nick IP stays around! They could go back to old IP characters and still have nice unique themed rooms etc there's so much they could do with this but making a copy and paste hotel to what they already have just won't work
I think a 3rd hotel would be great. We have stayed in the big blue with park view and its amazing to sit there watching the rides go round. Itll probable not happen but it would have been perfect for bpb to have either brought or took over the running of the sandcastle rather than merlin as they appear to want to be a resort this would have added value to packages they could have sold customers.
Came back to watch this one with it being confirmed on a podcast, reportedly (haven’t listened). I'm not sure I would go for a themed hotel when the park isn’t sufficiently themed throughout but heavily stylised and instagrammable with nods to say classic showbusiness, I think would be great. On brand for PBR and Blackpool. That said, i found a great flat last time. I'll be heading back there regardless 😂
If they did a themed hotel and didn;t do a Wallace & Gromit room I'd be very upset! Have it done up like their livingroom and you're greeted by a hapmer of cheese! Happy days XD
The last thing the park needs is another hotel , I’d rather the money be spent on rides , park investment and making the park actually worth visiting 😊😊
Disagree, if you spend on rides without changing anything that actually does well the park could be in trouble very quickly. There has to be a fine balance and hospitality is becoming a VERY strong investment portfolio for the council with millions being ploughed into new hotels coming as the popularity grows and even more so with new attractions / projects in the works across the entire town. The park needs a stability but it won't just be this project (if it even happens) they'll have other measures in place to get the park back up to scratch
You really don't want that Neil.... I bite my lip so hard I have mouth ulcers as it's all about who you know and how much ass you kiss which lands 90% of creators at events. Those who work hard, have solid stats and are leaps and bounds above in terms of subscribers etc sadly are an afterthought for the most part. It's a sorry state of affairs. My personal relationships with UK parks is steady with some, rocky with a couple but overseas relationships are all gravy, I'm in the wrong country!

I have never understood how Pleasure Beach hotels have done so well when you have multiple hotels nearby you can find on Booking for under £100 quid when Boulevard and Big Blue are quite expensive
People who want a classier Blackpool experience without bed bugs and every other accommodation encounter imaginable are more than happy to pay for it! With that said there are still some lovely places to stay, Hilton, Number One being two of my favs
They need a more affordable hotel as i think their current hotels are very expensive. There is so much competition surrounding it doesnt make sense to stay there unless your loaded! An overnight stay for a family including park tickets for around £200 in off peak times they should be aiming to sell and about £250 in peak times.
They sell quite well (Big Blue mainly) so price doesn’t seem to be too much of an issue but peak pricing is affordable compared to Towers etc and the rooms are nicer

I'd demolish bond street give the land to the p beach car park with universal coming if u want old coasters 3d print I'd take out Watson Rd rotate rides travelling stuff is amazing. Danse macabre will be awesome the ice show is just on 2 months get some major bands at park bingo bongo does ok

You can book Big Blue at a reasonable price if you book early and even if not, it’s such a lovely hotel, it’s worth the price & we love it so much.
