For what it's worth, I have tried 4 meals for the moment: 2 Pad Thais at 8, Portuguese Peri Peri is a 9, I strongly disagree with the video, and Lebanese Lamb is a 7-8 too. I'm really impressed. I definitely was not expecting it. I was thinking of using them just temporarily for my diet effort during a pretty hectic fortnight. For the moment though I’m considering extending my use of the service (which probably I will not cause I like cooking). Yet, I have only tried 3 different meals but I suppose it cannot be just a chance. I admit that I'm on the salty side of the spectrum, but definitely slightly so. For the culinary context, I'm Greek. Ah also, on the downside, my order was messed up, and I received regular portions instead of large ones. Interestingly, the regular portions weren’t that small as I only realized this when I checked the calorie info after eating. I'm really impressed by my level of disagreement with the video. But after all, "on the subject of appetite, pumpkin pie" as we say in Greece, or simply to each his own
Everyone’s tastes are different and I’m glad you enjoy them despite the heavy salt content and you did have different meals than myself so that’s also another factor. The butter chicken for me was wonderful so they are capable of a nice meal but the others were certainly hard to palate. Appreciate the comment and I’m glad you’ve managed to find some flavour in their range!
I also had mainly good expereince though I prefer vegetarian and fish dishes and the choice of those is very limited. Plus there is rice most of the time, and I am don't a fan. I am however sticking up with them for a moment, maybe will order once twice a month and just freeze
I'm on my first week of Simmer. It's ideal for me as I don't have a lot of time to cook and I end up getting too many takeaways. So I actually save money and my calorie intake is a lot lower. The salt content does seem high on some meals but overall its decent and fills a hole. A couple of the dishes I have been impressed with the flavour and some are just okay, it is a mixed bag. I would recommend it if you're lazy or don't have a lot of time to cook and simply looking to lower your calorie intake. Don't get it if you're fussy or hard to impress
I eat just about anything and everything but found this service to be very poor in terms of meal quality with many microwave meals out performing it in terms of flavour and portion size. Theres many meal prep services out there more affordable and improved Vs Simmer but I really did have some bad meals but I imagine they’re not all terrible, Butter Chicken was great 🤤 they need more like that

All meals use free range eggs and higher welfare meat, also M&S was not implicated in the recent Salad ecoli or the horse meat scandal because they are obsessive about their food traceability. M&S were the first in the UK to stop using any trans fats in any of their food. The quality and taste is excellent, can highly reccomend their Italian, Thai and Gastropub ranges.

Even worse than Aramark food! Wow!. I do get Hello Fresh (only when its like 60% off a box though), and that's lovely. Takes a little more preparation but tastes very good. I like that you are vlogging stuff other than theme parks too. Congrats on the 20k subscribers too mate.
The bottom line is that it’s basically a ready meal 🥘 so the salt content would be higher than a proper home cooked meal if you haven’t got time on your hands this is one of many options out there

I checked out their website (I'm disabled and sometimes these kind of meals are what I need to help me eat for a week) and you can't see the meals they offer until you've already signed up which immediately put me off. I don't want to give a company my email address and address if they're not going to show me the options first, odds are I won't find enough to make up an order and then they're gonna harass me all the time!
I always thought Green Chef was quite good. I partly stopped because i wanted to save money but if it suits a budget its pretty good and a nice healthy break from theme park food.
I had the same experience as you with Simmer. Got sold by their marketing and their food looked good but it was incredibly salty and the flavour was horrid on most meals. The absolute worst for me was that Korean Mac n cheese and the burrito! My god 🤢. However the butter chicken was their best but it tasted more like a tikka masala than butter chicken. Cancelled my subscription after week 1, far better ready meals in Tesco/Sainsbury’s! There is no substitution for making your own healthy meals. I rather spend the time than eat this crap.
I ordered it and was shocked at the flavour. Very disappointed. I agree with you so far (on my 2nd meal the jerk chicken). I have more meals to try now which I am dreading 😂 You must try Foodery, they're much better but we got bored with the food after a while and tried simmer eats. We will probably try Frive next, if that doesn't work then back to Foodery 😂

Ive had this for a few weeks and honestly its not bad, you not going to fill full all the time it takes a while for your body to adjust. But i will say its very hit and miss only some of the meals available are really that great. Anything with noddles just feels meh, the last few weeks ive pretty much ordered the same 3 things for 10 meals. Looking for any alternative at the moment.
I am a chef. I ak giving it a try. I paid 4.83 per meal ( almoat 800 calories ) and to be honest the food is tasty. One meal yes was maybe at the limit between salty and tasty but is definitely better than tesco or Sainsbury's ready meal. Especially if you are a busy person or you are bulking

I think is not the best meal but for the price i paid is worth it. I do cook often and it takes lot of time away from me,so it can be a quick solution.that's all

The payment is far from clear. Is it £72 weekly? Because the adverts say around £72 for the month but it looks like it’s that weekly. Without discount £72 weekly is crazy, unless I’m getting it wrong?

I messaged them on Instagram that their food wqs not as healthy as they say with the salt and sugar they used and they blocked me 😮 don't trust them, nice food just too salty and not healthy as they say. They don't have much meat content. They are professional marketers those guys so they can be cheeky
I dont get it, its literally just an overpriced microwave meal. Just eat normally and have some microwave meals from a supermarket for £3 in the freezer incase you cant be bothered
It's meant to be fresh, chef prepared food... but you're right... tastes like microwave meals and not the good kind... apart from the Butter Chicken, that was tasty!

So 2 orders in. I wish I saw this video sooner. To keep it short, they’re very good on marketing and roping the customer in. However the end product is nothing more than airplane food. Every meal is LACED with salt. Protein figures are a lie. States 60g of protein but usually 3-4 pieces of small chicken. Which probably doesn’t even add up to 25 grams of protein. Variety is extremely poor too, 95% of the meals have basmati rice as the carbs, have they never heard of sweet potatoes, mash, wedges, avocado? Lastly there is no such thing as a one off order, you are subscribed into their system once you make one order. They hold your card details without telling you. And send an email the week after stating they’ve made an order for you. Without even asking you. You need to contact them and tell them to cancel. I wasted £90 on this. But they won’t be having me as a long term customer. Their marketing is that simmer eats can replace your everyday cooking. - unless you want heart problems and blood pressure through the roof. I’d advise not to.
I’m sorry you didn’t see the video sooner, agree with everything in your review other than the card details thing, I found it easy to cancel after this original order and didn’t have any issues thereafter. I’m sorry you’ve had further issues with them!

But yes i think that probably calories are being faked as i could eat 2 meals. I have no proof about but maybe they fake the calories intake

I know someone who had that burrito and was disappointed. Generally M&S ready meals are the best I’ve had but I usually shop at Aldi.
