I personally think these are really good, although still yet to try it myself. It's the ease of having everything portioned out and you know your not eating too much. Problem is when you cook at home you may end up cooking that little bit extra rice which doesn't seem like much but could be adding an extra 1000 calories per week. This seems like a good way to get your mindset right and really focus on weighing portions.
I know this is a late review. I have got the 7 day + snacks for the past few months and it’s absolutely amazing. The breakfasts are standard, and you get so many snacks. The lunches are amazing. I love them. They are a decent size for someone who is cutting and they are very tasty. The dinners are very good. They send you a bag of all fresh ingredients and you just cook it. There is no process items in the dinner, it’s all fresh. Would highly highly recommend this.
Thanks for your review Frank. It’s definitely given me a bit better insight! I am one of those that as I’ve gotten older have been struggling with motivation as I’m not really into cooking & prefer a quick & easy option. And I originally thought it was quite clean food, but looking at some of the ready meal ingredients, it was more processed than I first thought & you have confirmed that. But you also put into words exactly what I’m looking for, something to start me off in the right direction & then once I’m feeling a bit better in myself generally I may look at the Hello Fresh type of option. I’ve always been a fairly fit & active girl most of my life but now struggle with disc degeneration which has really change things & I’m no longer able to do the dynamic type impact workouts like HIIT training, so I’m having to accept that I need to figure out other ways to keep my weight down & enjoy exercising again! It’s really knocked my mojo! Anyway, great honest review! Thank you.
Good on you Kim, sounds like you have a great awareness of what you need right now and absolutely if you can take a step towards healthier nutrition and adjust your training to keep your body happy then you are onto a winner I am sure :) we have some low impact workouts which may be useful if you haven’t seen already. Feel free to try and good luck!
For the past few weeks I've been using Hello Fresh five days a week, and I'm about to start using Gusto for the other two days per week. The biggest benefits for me are portion control and not having to think about food, except when I choose what I want which is just once a week. I also got tired of getting food delivered from the supermarket, with items in my order not available and either no replacement or a replacement I didn't like. Been impressed by Hello Fresh - smaller portions than what I normally eat, but that's exactly what I need to lose weight. It's also given me a more varied diet.
I know how to cook but have little portion control so I am thinking of starting an meal plan for myself so that I can readjust my body to be used to smaller portions of food. I weightlift and love to walk so am pretty active but I have a quite a bit of chub on me I just want to work out. So I plan to do this for a couple of months to adjust my body to work out what's normal so that my appetite is properly regulated. To move back to cooking and whilst doing this I will be researching more healthy recipes and keep my more tasty meals for later on.
I’ve been following this for iver a month. Not all the products are processed. You’ve chosen the easy options. They do meal kits and they are brilliant, it’s a bag full of fresh ingredients for one meal.
Used this plan whilst I had to shield for 3 months earlier this year - meant not having to rely on others having to do shopping for me. Food was ok, felt pretty full on a day to day basis. Didnt really lose any weight alongside doing daily Insanity workouts disappointingly, but was a great option at a very difficult time
Yeah that’s the part where they don’t tailor it and block off meals with too many cals. This missed trick is such a downer. Even if they just calculate macros and cals for a an each day before choosing.
Really good review Frank. You answered all the key questions I would have had in mind if embarking on something like this. Honest and objective review! By the way different ads popping up in different places is called advertising retargeting and is basically down to clever software. Bye for now 😀
Review was really helpful, thank you. Personally this has made my mind up that I won't be trying this. Having had a look at the meal options it's too processed for me.
Great review Frank! I guess starting off and time constrained this would work. I'd rather cook my own meals tbh,. However people of you want fitness trainer signed up Frank is awesome!
Thank you! I've ordered the 5 day plan as a starter as a single mum I struggle so this has a been a good in site on what to expect and what to do next!
Thanks for making this review! To be honest I think you were a little harsh on MF, especially with not including the fresh meal kits. There are definitely a lot of protein bars and such, but they (I’m assuming) aren’t aimed at healthy people like yourself, but rather at sugar addicts who would otherwise be having chocolate bars. I actually prefer MF to Gousto, which I’ve been doing for nearly 6 months, as I don’t think Gousto are all that healthy with so many little packets of sauces, everything requiring oil and salt, and huge portion sizes. Either way, both options beat what many people around me grew up on; white toast & butter, cuppa soups, and frozen junk disguised as meat for dinner. :)
For someone with dexterity limitations and/or chronic illness/pain when cooking needs significant time and effort. Of even boiling the kettle for tea is a challenge (physically or mentally) this would be incredibly helpful
I've tried various meal prep co and they all taste shit. I was thinking about starting my own one with a bit more of a spicy twist, more flavour. Do you think there is a market for this?
What about the food you get from them you cook yourself like all the meat is that any good or would my butcher be better seen they do a lot of free range meat and stuff and class a chicken let me know what you think for the meat
They do some great deals on meat and although it’s not the best quality it is ‘good enough’ and actually super affordable if you buy in bulk. Butchers will win on quality though for sure...
I'm thinking about using these wile at work.. I find it hard to make a decent meal for the amount of food I eat wile I'm at work.. I'm weight training and wanting to build muscle. Would u recommend using these for 2 meal a day wile at work....
These would be a very easy way to get those extra calories in for building muscle! 👍🏻 just need to pop in the microwave and you’ve got a pretty decent meal

Great honest review, thank you. I always wonder what these companies are like you've answered a lot of my questions.

Thanks Sangeeta, glad it helped! Feel I need to master that advertising retargeting malarkey, very clever haha
Fit with Frank looking forward to the hello fresh and gusto ones.
Off to catch up on your long bands upload now :)
Thanks for talking about this issue and openly. Alex's Chicken Recipe is good. 👍

Glad I helped before you had a cupboard full lol. I’m trying hello fresh deliveries this week, more wholesome foods for sure 😊 good luck

I lost 4 stone in 3 months doing MF amazing
Seriously?:o
The portions are too small for me. I had mine delivered and it’s only 300 cals per meal
I've tried various meal prep co and they all taste shit. I was thinking about starting my own one with a bit more of a spicy twist, more flavour. Do you think there is a market for this?
Really enjoyed this Frank, thank you
Pleasure! Thanks George, hope it helped
