This is my first RUclips video so forgive any quality issues as I’m learning 😊 Also I’m accustomed to filming for IG, so for the first few minutes, I only have portrait mode footage 😬
Came to comment and was shocked to see this is your first video!! Great job! I’ve been watching Berlin travel vlogs because I’m planning a trip soon and it’s really nice to see someone just be normal and have fun and follow a realistic itinerary. You gave me a ton of inspo!
@@WhimsicallyBritt I’m from the US! I spent a semester in Germany and have gone back a handful of times in the past few years, but this will be my first time in Berlin, somehow. I’ll meet friends for part of it but probably do a few days solo. It seems super cool so I’m very excited!
I like the slower natural pace of your vlog, well done! I'm a GenXer researching a trip to berlin, hopefully next May, so watching lots of videos to get different POV 😊
Great footage and wow there’s a lot of things to do in Berlin. I went before but didn’t have a great time so i see how things can be different. Definitely jam packed with tons to do
Aww dang! I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy it much! Hopefully after this series is done, you’ll be convinced to try again 😂 but if not, I understand every place is just not everyone’s cup of tea!
Not really, tourism has increased a lot over the last 15 years. Based on the statistics I found for '18 it got almost as many visitors as LA for example.
Thank you so much! That’s encouraging to hear! And thanks for the recommendation; I will have to check out that hotel/hostel for next time then (I definitely plan to go back to Berlin someday!)
hey this was really wholesome, i enjoyed your vid so much ! i'm from germany and have been to berlin a lot of times, and it is so refreshing and nice to see somebody experiencing so many different aspects of it. i was also always wondering how someone who doesn't speak german navigates the place because i have the impression germany is quite a hot mess when it comes to public transport, but it seems like you mastered it just fine, that gives me a lot of hope haha
Oh wow, thank you so much! 🙌🏽 I’m very grateful that you enjoyed and appreciated this video; this is especially nice coming from a German! Luckily for me, many people did speak English to me in Berlin. Also, as far as navigating, I am from NYC, so I use public transportation (and Google Maps) all the time, so I’m sure that helped because even when my American friends from other US states visit me in NYC, they don’t know how to navigate the trains sometimes haha. But I didn’t at all feel the transportation in Berlin was disorganized or anything. It was much better than in NYC 😆 Maybe I had a lucky week! 😁 Again, I appreciate you for watching!
6:31 food just falling all out 😂 12:59 you said meat cheese and bread…I was expecting a sausage egg and cheese sandwich not this 😮. Enjoyed the video can’t wait to see more of your time in Berlin 🙌🏾
😂 That doner was hard to keep together! And for the meats and cheeses, that’s funny! I never would’ve thought of it being a breakfast sandwich but that would make more sense haha. Thanks so much for watching! 🙌🏽 It’s the motivation I need to push out more of these! 🙏🏽
Oat milk is very very normal in berlin. Its the most used alternative and its also just a very normal thing to have plant based milk in your coffee. There are some areas in berlin where youll be looked at weirdly if you order cow milk. Berlin is very vegan. But honey, dont go into a restaurant to have a normal german breakfast, youll be ripped off. *especially* in Hackesche Höfe. just go to any normal café, most of them have breakfast options. Most breakfasts are german type unless they specify otherwise. Brötchen, cheese, ham/salami, jam and maybe a croissant for a sweet breakfast, but the german way is a milk Brötchen or simply a white Brötchen. It shouldnt cost more than 8€. I bet you paid 15€ minimum at Hackesche. Just in general, in any city, stay away from restaurants in tourist hotspots.
Thanks for your comment! It’s very cool to know this about oatmilk being so popular in Berlin! And yes, I’m sure I overpaid, but it was close by after the photoshoot and I was VERY hungry. Plus I did enjoy taking breakfast around the scenery of Hackesche Höfe! I hope to explore more of Berlin and the cheaper cafes another time!
Whenever someone says that Alexanderplatz is Berlin’s city center it’s a dead giveaway that they have no clue what they’re talking about and you can skip the rest of the video. Honestly, compete;y clueless and ignorant. But at least did a video about it. Yeay. Cheerioh from Berlin
@@bx8321 Thanks for your comment! Clearly I would not know everything about Berlin in just the few days I visited, but just sharing my experience. I referred to Alexanderplatz as “city center” or “central hub” since most train lines stop there, and a walk from there would pass many tourist attractions / points of interest such as the Berliner Fernsehturm, Berlin Cathedral, and Brandenburg Gate.

I feel like Berlin is a really underrated international tourist destination

I couldn’t agree more! It should be on everyone’s list in my eyes! 🙌🏽
I clicked for more videos and realized it was your first one. Im looking forward to other travel vlogs.
Thanks so much for watching! 😄 Yes more are coming very soon!
You did well for a first timer! The Circus Hotel (and their hostel) both are excellent, too, and the exteriors were shown in your vid.

Thanks for this video. I like that you shared different type of trains like U-Bahn and S-Bahn.
