Dave Grohl played drums on one of their albums. Killing Joke, the album with `Loose cannon,` `The Death & resurection show` etc. I lent it to my uncle years ago & still haven`t gotten back!
Dave did an incredible job on KJ'S 20032003 the drums the best I've ever heard him record. It is awesome to see him give props to Jaz like this. They are the most important band of the last 50 years, imo. Not to mention, one of Kurt's favorite bands and biggest influences. Long Live the Mighty KILLING JOKE
Normally I'm not one to ball wash but KJ kinda influenced a lot more then just music too. From movies to comics to music so many things were taken from Jaz's on stage look and act. It's kind of wild almost like it was done on purpose
Loved killing joke since I heard love like blood back in the 80,s , Geordies guitar riffs are unmistakable. Seen them live last year on the 40th anniversary tour. They made my ears bleed. Lol. Fantastic band
Perfect demonstration why a live band can't be replaced. Even though they're professionals and play it really good. They don't sound like killing joke. Not hating, just admiring how diverse actual bands sound.
@@lukegreen5696 I agree with him, I like Dave and the band as personalities. R.I.P to a integral drummer. But Foo Fighters for me are how nickleback is portrayed sadly.
One guitar player only can get the killing Joke sound... And only one Geordie himself... Pleasing to see stadium guitarists not even close, but... Kudos to the foos for the Nod to jazz Coleman and the Mighty KJ
How have I never seen this? This is amazing, I love Dave giving props to Jaz. And seeing one hero play with my other hero, Pat Smear is almost too much
I saw Killing Joke at Rock City in Nottingham in 1984. They did Psyche! It is a memory I will never forget. They are the only band I have ever seen that scared me to death but exalted me at the same time! In their early live performances they were actually terrifying!
I will never forget the first time I heard the death and resurrection show. I'd known of killing joke and admired them. But that album blew my fucking mind apart. Then you work backwards (even fowards) and they are a fucking force of nature. I love them. Not ALL of the top fighters music is my jam, but holy fuck do i respect them.

No disrespect, Raven is missed, but don't you mean Youth (Martin Glover)? He was in the band when this song was written then released and then stepped back in when Raven passed.
Ivania Laza Agreed, raven plays bass on three of my favs, Night Time, Extremities, and the self titled Killing joke record in 2003 which had raven and youth on the record. Was just pointing out that requiem was before his time with the band.
@@mikebbq absolutely right, I m considered your comment, and you're totally right, I forget this part and it's important to mention this one cause he was it created bass notes, thanks for that man.
I feel like alot of Killing joke fans are very close minded and/or agressive towards anyone that makes a cover or anything like that. I mean fine the cover will probably never live up to the original song but there is no reason to throw insults and shit just because Jaz hangs out with some people you dont like lol.
Can't stand the Foo Fighters music but happy for Jaz that he was brought up there and respect was paid. Doubt the vast majority of the audience had a clue.
Nirvana nicked the Riff of eighties for come as you are, Dave played Drums on the Killing Joke Album (death and resurrection show, the one with the clown artwork), so why not covering an old classic. Three guitars are a little bit too much when Geordie plays the same alone, but so what. Good cover version and Jaz had a good time. You can't also expect from the audience that everybody is well informed with Killing Joke's back catalogue. They enjoy the music, what's wrong about that?
What hell Pat Smears is playing on this song?.. looking at his fingers postion. power chords?...... that song has no power chords! other than this, honest cover. bass line is the faulty part.. not agressive and loud enough ;)
Oh dear! Why Jaz Coleman is lowering himself to play with the amateurish sounding Foo Fighters is beyond me. The band are dreadful, weak as piss (the guitars!) and the drumming is really really lame - how to destroy a classic - ugh!
Geordie Walker seeing three guitarists on stage: "Look what they need to mimic a fraction of our power."
Dave said it all: "This band changed my life" and still changing!
I do love to see Jaz enjoying himself.
Wow. I never thought I would see Jaz Coleman with the Foo Fighters. Very cool.

One of my favourite Killing Joke songs
Awesome!! Discovered Killing Joke in the early 80's while I was in high school. This is amazing!!
Jaz the most beautiful voice
Dude, old as hell, but still has that throaty yell. Should be in the hall of fame with the rest of Killing Joke.

Jaz Coleman is a great front man
Sorry... Lux interior will always be the greatest frontman
@@sublime12201 killing joke seeing red, requiem, live like blood, Jaz Coleman great frontman, great voice.
Foo. Being the ultimate cover band.
I don’t enjoy the Foo Fighters and this was AWESOME.
I hope half the fans went home and jammed that album afterwards.

Love Killing Joke ... Saw them live at the Venice Airport Festival.
I liked this. What's wrong with Dave Grohl admiring and respecting such a great band and front man that inspired him? Bring it on!
Clive Allen exactly
i thought this was about the cover what
He plays drums in KJ 2003 album.

Would love to see the do Love Like Blood or Eighties
People should Wiki Jaz Coleman. That man is SO MUCH more than the vocalist for Killing Joke.
Mind blown. This is too cool. If only we could get Jaz to do a song with Tommy Victor and PronG
The highlight of the whole show I'm sure
Ufffff que grandes
Love this guy Jaz !

KILLING JOKE- STRANGLRES.....THE BEST....... FOREVER...................
Industrial Pain I would like to allow myself to add GODFLESH
Fucking legend right there!
Can't wait for the proper version in Bristol ....
AMAZING!!!
lol - 3 foo fighter guitars = geordie
Only they don't, and the synths ain't no match for an Oberheim OBX either!
But it's a worthy dedication - Dave loves them (I do too)
I had already noticed that ... just funny. 3 guitarists to get the sound of Foo Fighters LOL
That's the good stuff!
What a treat

Honour the Fire 🙏
Rest in Peace Travis ❤

What comes out of coal? Diamonds! and that’s what Jaz and KJ are 🖤

Aswsome
Wow,GrolJaz and Geordie...
A thorough bastardisation of a classic song.
Oh fuck off
Jaz seemed to enjoy it..... So........
Fucking cool
Dave gotta do the accent lol
This was the first song Taylor recorded with the foos
Missing Paul raven and gerdie to sound better... And take to the power of that song!!

THEY FUCKING DO NOW.
Damn it Taylor... Why?
Its hard to watch the band now, it's such a bummer
All the kids in that audience haven't a baldy clue who Jaz is ffs! Ah well, hopefully some were educated that night 😀
Get over yourself snowflake. They're not as obscure as you think. They played my city 2 weeks ago and about 70% of the audience were "kids".
they have no idea
Didn't Killing Joke sue Nirvana for copyright infringement? I guess all is forgiven.
I'm not a big FF fan but they do a great job covering this song.
Yeah but Dave also recorded with them in 2003
Killing joke was a huge inspiration on Nirvana in general so I’m pretty sure they’re on good terms
I don't think they ever sued them. The original riff from Eighties is from The Damned "Life Goes On"
Did not really, because the riff came from the Damned to start with.
Jaz Coleman is God and Geordie is his prophet.

The live Godflesh version lays waste to all other attempts
The riffs sound weak without that Killer tone
