Fuck yeah ! I was 16yo in 1980, grew up listening Bon Scott & AC/DC, Motörhead, Hawkwind, Black Sabbath, Bowie, CCR, Deep Purple, Alice Cooper, Springsteen, Neil Young...etc...etc... What a pity when I see youngsters nowadays, listening shitty music by so called "singers" who couldn't carry a song without Autotune.
I have a friend in So Cal. Jeff, and he met Lemmy once. He told Lemmy that he was his hero, and Lemmy told him nah, be your own hero. Then he asked him what he did for a living, and Jeff told him he installed alarm systems. Lemmy then said" Jeff, when a family is saved from having their home robbed, who are they going to thank? Not me, be your own hero. Jeff was almost ready to quit that job, but Lemmy gave him the kick in the ass to climb the company ladder, until he became part owner of the company. Wise words from Lemmy, a all round great guy.
Cool advice from a Rock God! Another Legend, Mick Fleetwood told me, "It doesn't matter what you do, just keep pursuing your dreams!" Long Live Rock N Roll!
I love this cover by Motorhead. Knowing it was filmed not long before Lemmy left this world. It fits as kind of a tribute to Bowie and Lemmy both. The video and it's editing are amazing.
This song was played at my dads funeral and I couldn’t have thought of a better song to honour his memory. Lemmy was an idol for my dad and my dad is my idol. Man.. My favorite Bowie song, and then Lemmy makes it even better.. Brings tears in my eyes.. Bowie, and Lemmy are legends, and will live forever, thank you both for your music. This is the best cover of a song EVER..
I met Lemmy one night at a strip club in Las Vegas. I walk in the joint and there he was - leaning against the bar looking like a fuckin' rock star. I walk up and ask him if he wants a shot of whisky. He says Jack Daniels. We chat for about 5 minutes then I leave before wearing out my welcome. In general, you should never meet your heroes. But, every once in a while, you meet a good guy that just happens to be a legend. That guy was Lemmy.
The original was amazing. This cover does something new and different with it, so its also amazing. I think David Bowie would have absolutely loved this version of his song. In fact, he would have asked to come onstage and sing along with Lemmy. And if that had happened, then it would have opened a hole in the space-time continuum and angels would have poured through, strumming on guitars and hammering out a beat on drums. What a precious gift those tow musicians were. The world is a poorer, quieter place without them in it.

my dad passed away 3 months ago, he loved motorhead had a tatto when lemmy passed i hope he is up there now hanging out with him :D , playing this really loud so he can still hear it ^^
What I love about Motörhead covers is that they are not just that, but versions in their own style. This is one of the very best ones for sure! R.I.P Lemmy. ♠️
The only time any band has done that as well as motorhead was when sepultura covered Orgasmatron. It was clearly done with so much love but in their own style and with their own pronunciation of Lemmy's lyrics (which are just perfect) ❤ I will forever need Motorhead in my life! X
Being a fan since the beginning I just love this song song ,I'm 59 and it brings me to tears , I don't believe a word is a second close !? Hello my nephew Vinny
In millions of years time aliens will find what is left of the human race .and they will find this and realise that we had potential. R.i.p Bowie. R.i.p Lemmy. You are and will forever be Heroes.
This song proofed that my hubby and I are the perfect match! Me: Bowie fan since I was a kid. Hubby: Motörhead fan Lemmy and Bowie died in a time range of a few months. Lemmy sings one of our favourite songs from Bowie. We both still miss them.
There's footage on RUclips of the only time when they tried playing this cover live. They even restart the song but Lemmy keeps singing the lyrics to Orgasmatron. It's such a sad, heartbreaking thing to see. We shouldn't remember him by those last concerts though. He rocked out for more than 40 years and lived all of his life turned up to 11. He lived, breathed and died doing what he loved, making millions and millions of people happy. There's never gonna be another Lemmy but I'm glad that I managed to exist at the same time as he did..
i was lucky to seen him 2 rows from center stage with Maiden and Dio, on the give me ed till I am dead tour, yes it must of been tough, to see him in so much pain, I know cancer i seen many family members just rot with this dreaded disease, but Lemmy left a legacy of music and fans that will love him forever,
Brian Marto saw them first on ace of spades then iron fist then another perfect day then had the pleasure of working (crew)briefly on the orgasmatron tour (with zodiac mindwarp always loved motorhead ever since I was a youth and yes the world is a duller place without lemmy in it. Listen to the hawkwind albums he was part of total fuckin excellence and I think they and he were a catalyst for the punk rock thing. Yeah miss lemmy
On this day of Lemmy's passing. Raise our glasses . And have a drink . The way he would have wanted. We are Motorhead fans...and we listen to rock and roll.
I should like to read to you a short passage from the Book of Kilmister..... And on the 8th day, Lemmy created Slayer. (He had a gig on the 9th, and needed an opening band) And He was pleased, for He saw that it was good. Here ends today's lesson. MOTORHEAD FOREVER Sincerely, MHB#1204
I still miss my hero, my daddy. He was Army national guard and then went on to be an EMT before the term existed. That man raised us two boys the best he could and I admire that man.
Miss you Lemmy... Miss you Bowie... Feels like the end of an era. All my heroes are passing away one by one. We should all be so lucky that years after we pass, those who loved us say "man... What a great guy/gal, what a great time in life." So to all my Heroes I say Thank You! What a great time in my life!
Hanley, I share the same feelingof you! They are passing way, we miss them, but, is our task to keep their legacy alive, rolling...it makes me feel happy, continuing to hear them and sharing with the young generations their powerful and encouraging music. Take care Man and lots of Rock n' Roll in your life!
I crank this every Saturday night, along with Ride On- AC/DC and Hurt- the Johnny Cash version. Three songs that mean a lot to me. The neighbours love it.
That's amazing! So here are two songs, "Heroes" and "Hurt".. And both of the covers are better than the originals (no offense to David Bowie, but this was simply metal poetry)
Desde mis años mozos AC/DC, con Bon Scott, es mi amor eterno. Fue un flechazo, un no sé muy bien qué, pero me ganaron para siempre. La pieza fue “ There’s gonna be some rockin’ at the show tonight”. Y luego vino el resto.
Thank you Lemmy and David for the many decades of foynd memories in my youth. I have cherished them for my lifetime and have passed your amazing talent on to my children and now their children. We have been blessed to have the best musicians in multiple generations to ever walk, perform your amazing talent, vocals and song writing ever.
Bowie's masterpiece stripped down to the bare essentials and run at 200mph is possibly the most Motörhead thing I have ever heard. You are a probably a Motörhead fan but you don't know it yet. :)
@@davidjohn8661 By the way that christians react to Rock'n'Roll you can tell, the followers of Jesus know about the competition. And they are loosing the fight they started. We all know Rock'n'Roll exists, but Jesus never did.
I can never finish playing this along to the cd at home on guitar as I always get choked up. Motörhead were just something else and Lemmy was just pure rock n roll. Bowies lyrics sung by Lemmy, just stunning.
My dad loves Motorhead and he named me Lemmy after him :) . Ive been listening to Motorhead since I was a kid :') R.I.P Lemmy. Gone but never forgotten :')
How Iconic that this is one of the last songs he sang in a world dreadfuly in need of people like him.... Pure love, Rock n roll to the core... Rest in Power man...
Great song, cover, Mickey, Phil, and Giant Lemmy. Nine years that Lemmy has changed his cosmic address. This magnificent video is a deserved tribute to a fantastic band and to an unrivaled career. They gave all they had inside. Mickey Dee and Phil Campbell were also exemplary in accompanying Lemmy until the end. Hats off, guys. I better stop there, as it becomes too emotional...
@@jackmann9031 I'll start by saying that this is a damn good cover. But Dave's version is simply definitive. Everything else is second best. If you like this version, let me recommend the Hollywood Vampires version and King Crimson's cover. Also, Blondie does one hell of a job.that being said, Mötorhead kills it here.
Lemmy will live forever in my heart! I saw him for the first time at a concert in Hamburg in 1986. It was really loud and impressive! Thanxs Lemmy for being part of my youth!!

OMG, I have never been so incredibly impressed by a David Bowie cover. I think this is the FIRST Motörhead song I have ever listened to (that I know of) and I have been listening to all kinds of music....❤❤❤

The world became boring without Lemmy....
True... A part of me dies as well... There are no replacement
David Bengtsson you are so wery right about that...
Aren't we lucky! 😁
to throw shit at.
and David...
It's been years, and I still get choked up watching this.
my dad passed away 3 months ago, he loved motorhead had a tatto when lemmy passed i hope he is up there now hanging out with him :D , playing this really loud so he can still hear it ^^
All the metal heroes are still rocking, your dad had great taste for music
🖤🖤🖤
You had a good father, and you are a good son. Respects sir. Play loud VERY LOUD.
Hell yes he is brother!!!!!!
Be strong my friend. Play it out loud!
Unfortunately, Lemmy and David left us much too early. Your music lives in our hearts!
everyone has their time and glory, no such thing as too early, let the man rip
💯
Early? Lemmy has 70 and Bowie 60
So damned raw and powerful just a shame they never got to sing it together.
Both of them were OUR HEROES AND WILL FOREVER BE
Yeah well said they were awesome
They were magnificent 👍
Didn't they die in the same year though? Heroes 💪
This is an all time classic song that has been covered dozens of times...but this is by far the best version ever!! God bless you Lemmy!
iva davies (icehouse) is way better!!
I'm 50 and I've always loved Motorhead. R.I.P Lemmy. You are heroes. Greetings from Poland
Hey I'm 61 and first heard them in '81, Greetings from Brooklyn NY USA
53 and i feel you. Greets from Germany 🤘😎
never get tired of this tune, a celebration of 2 true icons
What I love about Motörhead covers is that they are not just that, but versions in their own style. This is one of the very best ones for sure!
R.I.P Lemmy. ♠️
Weltklasse😍
Very well said!
Indeed,,,, you are correct.. ..I like the delay effects.. 1´26 ..... Insane !!
@@bibo.b2901 del n
The only time any band has done that as well as motorhead was when sepultura covered Orgasmatron. It was clearly done with so much love but in their own style and with their own pronunciation of Lemmy's lyrics (which are just perfect) ❤
I will forever need Motorhead in my life! X
Being a fan since the beginning I just love this song song ,I'm 59 and it brings me to tears , I don't believe a word is a second close !? Hello my nephew Vinny
By far, the BEST version of this British classic! Lemmy has truly rocked millions and millions of music fans ❤❤❤❤
One of the best covers ever , RIP Lemmy.
Spot on, brilliant
Gents I'm 58 and I'm proud to say I've seen and heard the best. Long live lemmy.
I am 63 and what?
The age sucks!!!
I must say, You are wring. Lemmy is dead ✝️.
Im 58 too and just hitting my prime. Love to you..cheers.
Lemmy,caro inarivabbile Lemmy!!!!
In millions of years time aliens will find what is left of the human race .and they will find this and realise that we had potential. R.i.p Bowie. R.i.p Lemmy. You are and will forever be Heroes.
It's not possible to like your post enough. \m/

it"s Da POWER-LIFE !;'
may your god bless you .sir.
This song proofed that my hubby and I are the perfect match!
Me: Bowie fan since I was a kid.
Hubby: Motörhead fan
Lemmy and Bowie died in a time range of a few months.
Lemmy sings one of our favourite songs from Bowie.
We both still miss them.
Bowie died 13 days after Lemmy.
This MOTORHEAD cover is just so damn good, you can play it over and over and over!
I play it everyday from nz
Lemmy’s voice lends itself very beautifully to this Bowie track... The man could sing...
Happy birthday you magnificent bastard!
The world needs you back more than ever ♠️
Aye. Lemmy being born was the best Christmas present ever.
AMEN to that !!
One of the best from the best, covered by the best!
PersephoneNyxProtos that makes no sense.
One of the best [original songs] from the best [orig. artist David Bowie], covered by [Lemmy]. Stupid!
Lemmy is absolutely amazing. I never think of them as a cover band, but if you're gonna do a cover, by God, this is a cover.
Not just a hero for a day, man. For us, you're a hero for eternity.
I remember him by his show in 2008 and 2009, this were my only 2 show ever of Motorhead and, i cherish these loud moment.
saw them on the 2008 tour and they were rocking
i was lucky to seen him 2 rows from center stage with Maiden and Dio, on the give me ed till I am dead tour, yes it must of been tough, to see him in so much pain, I know cancer i seen many family members just rot with this dreaded disease, but Lemmy left a legacy of music and fans that will love him forever,
Brian Marto saw them first on ace of spades then iron fist then another perfect day then had the pleasure of working (crew)briefly on the orgasmatron tour (with zodiac mindwarp always loved motorhead ever since I was a youth and yes the world is a duller place without lemmy in it.

Lemmy is immortal , he is Rock and Roll !
🤘💜🤘
indeed
He died with his boots on. I'll toast to that my friend.
I should like to read to you a short passage from the Book of Kilmister.....
And on the 8th day, Lemmy created Slayer. (He had a gig on the 9th, and needed an opening band) And He was pleased, for He saw that it was good.
Here ends today's lesson.
MOTORHEAD
FOREVER
Sincerely,
MHB#1204
I still miss my hero, my daddy. He was Army national guard and then went on to be an EMT before the term existed. That man raised us two boys the best he could and I admire that man.
Still one of the best videos on RUclips, Long Live Lemmy and Motörhead!
Miss you Lemmy... Miss you Bowie... Feels like the end of an era. All my heroes are passing away one by one. We should all be so lucky that years after we pass, those who loved us say "man... What a great guy/gal, what a great time in life."
So to all my Heroes I say Thank You! What a great time in my life!
So well said, well said 👏 👍
We all have an expiration date...make the best of the time you are here. We are never guaranteed a tomorrow. This was an epic side of Motorhead!
Lovedd it
I crank this every Saturday night, along with Ride On- AC/DC and Hurt- the Johnny Cash version. Three songs that mean a lot to me.
The neighbours love it.
Hurt breaks me, it must be an emotional Saturday night! Might want to throw Megadeth’s A tout le Monde in there!
All have cool memories - one of me faves Touch to Much replied cos of your Surname will let you find it !
That's amazing! So here are two songs, "Heroes" and "Hurt".. And both of the covers are better than the originals (no offense to David Bowie, but this was simply metal poetry)
My neighbours love it so much when I play it over and over, that they broke my windows to hear it better!
Desde mis años mozos AC/DC, con Bon Scott, es mi amor eterno. Fue un flechazo, un no sé muy bien qué, pero me ganaron para siempre. La pieza fue “ There’s gonna be some rockin’ at the show tonight”. Y luego vino el resto.
One of the best versions I ever heard! Nobody does it like that anymore!😎🤘
Heroes don't die, they become legends.
Mouthuos In Valhalla
He was both when alive
See ya in Valhalla 🤘🏻😎🍺
Heroes get remembered. Legends never die.
Rotten heroes then =) joking
Lemmy for ever
love !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
paul le berre. Right on
Forever and ever.
I have listened and seen this awesome band since 1977 the best of all time still blast it in my truck
Goodnight Lemmy. 😥
I never was a Motörhead fan but this version of «Hereoes» is just insane
Its all good
Come to my age and you are fan
@@rueganer70 if i interpret your account name correctly, I assume that we have the same year of birth
Bowie's masterpiece stripped down to the bare essentials and run at 200mph is possibly the most Motörhead thing I have ever heard. You are a probably a Motörhead fan but you don't know it yet. :)
@Dirk Silbernagel if you were never a fan of them then you hate Motörhead
Came across this years ago. Never a Motorhead fan but man this blew me away!!! RIP and condolences to his fans.
One of the greatest rock songs ever played by one of the greatest rock bands ever. Legendary
I love that Lemmy made the lyrics his own, but kept the spirit of the original. "You, you are insane. I am the same."
Always blows me away. "Rock'n'Roll is the religion that will never let you down."
As enjoyable as it can be, rock and roll is useless to save you. Only Jesus saves.
An afternoon spent listening to old rock and roll is an afternoon well spent ❤
Yeah, just doin the same. Greetings fom France!
How Iconic that this is one of the last songs he sang in a world dreadfuly in need of people like him.... Pure love, Rock n roll to the core... Rest in Power man...
Beautiful comment
Meant every word...He was a great man...
Nikola Kranjčević
He certainly was.
There's hope yet, legends never really die... cheers friend, you caught me at a bad moment, lifted my spirit a bit...have a good one...
"And if I die tonight..." I'm happy and thankful to have experienced such a great inspiration like MOTÖRHEAD ♠
I requested Heroes to be played , April 12th 11 years ago, in honor of my father who passed away the day before.
This Cover is Simply Majestic.
crazy april 12 is my dads birthday and he passed away june 7th 2007 11 years ago...rock on bud
Same B to you as we go forth with the memories of our Fathers in our hearts.
I can't get over how insanely good this is.
Shivers.
Best version of "Heroes" ever.
So good even Bowie would approve.
is good!

Lemmy will live forever in my heart! I saw him for the first time at a concert in Hamburg in 1986. It was really loud and impressive! Thanxs Lemmy for being part of my youth!!

No disrespect intended, BUT...
Axl could only hold his shit together for what ?
a little under 9 years.
Now Lemmy....
Ya see where I'm going with this ?
That man inhabited his environment like a panther stalks the jungle. That's true charisma. He was comfortable in his own skin.
Somebody only really dies when their name is spoken for the last time. So lemmy , Bowie, Freddie , Syd, Richard will live for as long as we love real music.
Cliff Richard isn't dead yet! Lol

Torrey Shoaff What Torrey said, I can't type because of the tears ;-)
This song was used at my dads funeral and it couldn’t of been better thanks to this song. Lenny lived in my dads heart and will live in mine now
OMG, I have never been so incredibly impressed by a David Bowie cover. I think this is the FIRST Motörhead song I have ever listened to (that I know of) and I have been listening to all kinds of music....❤❤❤
I would have never thought the ringing sound of amp feedback along with random sounds of the bass can be filled with so much emotion that it could make a man cry.... but it did.
R.I.P Lemmy, Wurzel, Phil Taylor, Fast Eddie, and Larry Wallis.
R.I.P Motorhead
I think this is a proof of humility and respect, and of course a beautiful version of another great musician.
Awesome! This song holds much for me. Just incredible. Would love to hear Bowie do The Ace of Spades.
Dwayne Goodin sadly we'll never get that chance as both Lemmy and Bowie are gone.
Dwayne Goodin that would be cool
That would have been amazing!
Lemmy has not gone, he has remained in our hearts!!!
Motörhead - Heroes (David Bowie cover):Lyrics
I, I will be king
And you, shall be queen
Though nothing will drive them away
I will beat them, forever and ever
Cause we can be heroes, just for one day
And you, you are insane
And I, I am the same
Cause we're lovers, and that is a truth
Yes we're lovers, and we're in that booth
Though nothing, will keep us together
We could stop time, forever and ever
We can be heroes
What d'you say?
I, I can remember (I remember)
Standing, by the wall (by the wall)
And the guns, were all ready to fire (ready to fire)
And we kissed, as though we never can fall (never can fall)
And the shame, was on another city
Oh we can beat them, forever and ever
We could be heroes, just for one day
We can be heroes, we can be heroes
We can be heroes
We can be heroes, just for one day
