Simply one of the best songs ever recorded by anybody, anywhere, ever. That's all there is to it.
I heard this played over a tv show in the 90s but didn't know who or what it was - tried to find out over a span of twenty odd years - when I did find it , well it was one of those moments you never forget
Dont forget psycho
only the voice had to be louder
I put this on all the mix tapes i made for people.
What you said. 👍
RIP GEORDIE ONE OF THE COOLEST GUITAR PLAYERS EVER.BEST TRACK EVER.GREAT BAND.SAD LOSS TO A TRULY GREAT MAN.
Big Paul the drummer is an absolute machine. holy shit he's hypnotising!
Absolute classic! My father played this to me when I was 10 and I was blown away and will love this memory of Dad showing me true music and lyrics.
Sounds like you have a Great dad!" 👍👍🍄⚡🧩
Like David said, what a Great Dad you had Cindy! This band helped me thru my teen years like no other!
That is PURE life.........(rock on man!!!!)
lucky you!
Geordie and that sound. Legend.
It is very frustrating for a singer, when the audience is not able to accept his emotions flowing Through the songs to them.He feels that sings for dull crowd, and yet in that song inserted his whole soul ... is absolutely amazing ...Thank you Jaz
Jaz doesnt give a shit 🙂
Who was on bass? It was good but I've come to realise their songs from the mid-eighties did lean more towards keyboards and production. Nightime and BTATS are my personal favourites. This live performance seems a bit rushed.
Public is sleeping
@@multiversos1 that's Youth on bass
Still one of the best songs ever made!
Specially live..
They are too cool for this world
yess they soo great and so underrated, this world sucks 😣😅😅
What a drummer
Gerodie's guitar is so hypnotizing!!!
I remember the summer of 1985! It was she sells sanctuary, cities in dust & love like blood which everyone took to the dance floor! Happy days & the reason i took up the drums!
Inbetween Days too.
Budgie, Nigel Preston
@@markusantonio4866 "Making plans for Nigel"! let's not for get "Eighties"
Hahaha yes my 15 year old self was loving it!
Some great tracks!
Probably the greatest punk/new wave/industrial band ever..
Dead crowd, Where is the worship to this masterpiece.
Nicolas Monti I was in it, thinking exactly the damn same, I think the crowd was there for Lamb of God and the other inaudible trash in the line-up. Heaven & Hell got a similar reception. :/
Nicolas Monti All I know is they absolutely ROCKED the Filmore in San Fran last year! The entire floor was shaking!!!
Nicolas Monti Pure metal hipsters ... :)
+Alpha Hybrid Le wrong generation, much?
+Nicolas Monti
Oh, come on, they're just kids! They've been too indoctrinated to IGNORE such energy and passion. Not their fault. They'll grow...and learn...
They're not asleep. They're petrified by this astonishing performance of an everlasting song!
I'm impressed with their sound. I like how the drummer has kinda found a new groove for the song in the chorus. Dig it. Missing Raven's bass sound and style.
the Raven King...
You may know, but actually the bass is played by Youth the original member, but yes this was Raven's bass line and he deserves the credit for this one.
Yeah but it’s YOUTH the original bassist
Rest In Peace PR 😭
They are still one of the best bands ever ....how can anyone not be moved by this song and with such a majestic amazing scary front man......love it 👍👍
Don't worry he's had all his rabies shots! Actually, Jaz is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. His energy is very calming in person. He's very genuine, he looks you in the eye when he shakes your hand, and doesn't rush you or make fun of your friend for being too shy to approach him himself! I have no problem breaking the ice, I love them both. Keep rockin' Sage Against The Machine!
The Killing joke was the best small venue concert that I ever went to 1990 at the Masquerades in Ybor city (tampa) fl! Off the hook visually and musically!!
The bass line is so excellent!
Incroyable. 1985 mes 9 ans. J'aimais cette chanson deja. Que de souvenirs. 2024 ? Je l'aime toujours.
Seems they gate crashed some X factor type festival and the crowd are like wtf for hearing real music for the first time.
Jesus Big Paul on Drums what a LEGEND. No One BETTER.
Killing Joke is the darkest soundtrack of our lives.
I:m impresed how good this band can sound after years to came to light worldwide without lose the touch! 😎
What's cool about this is that these blokes throw down even better 20 years after than they did on the original.
This Band should have been bigger than they were........very talented! Those drums and guitars........wow!
Dat drum and bass section tho
To most of us who appreciate their significance, they ARE big...period.
To those who don't get them, well that's their tough shit for not widening their horizons.....
Way ahead of their time
this guitar is epic!
Getting some hollow body Billy Duffy tone out of that ES-295... Hell yes.
My sentiments exactly
I followed them around in the 80's Coventry, Brighton, Birmingham, Leicester, to name but a few...it was an awesome time...the music was so malevolent...suited the mood of the times for a generation looking for ground breaking music after the Sex Pistols (still the most influential band of the time and my late teenage years) It was a f***ing brilliant time to be young!
great days
Here is a crowd that have never heard good music in their entire lives. Until now.....
One of the best bands ever ,been a fan for 30 years now ;)
Forever killing joke punk metal lives
Unbelievable sound.
An absolute tune of the 80's I'd make sure all of my neighbours heard this when I'd blast it out on my stereo in my bedroom 😂
gorgeous live recording. This should be a dvd.
It's so fantastic to see the four of them back together again, playing as good, if not better than they ever did! Their music still vibrates to my very soul...they just AMAZE me! Big Paul...you really pound it home! Wow!
This was the first song i bought of theirs on a 7 in single. Also bought the night time album a little while later.Ah yeah such happy fucking days..........
Best band! Influenced so many!
Still a very good song, good music never dies!
I love this song. Awesome performance.
great performance, Killing Joke in top form !
Super tight sounding, but crowd seemed like a bunch of stiffs!
Beautiful drums, guitars and the unique Jaz Coleman. About as good as it gets
absolutely fucking awesome !
Masterpiece
Fuck the crowd. I do admit this is one of my favorite songs. I would still show respect the entire show.
lol..jazz coleman
..still the scariest front man around...
I was actually under spell when Jazz performed a ritual during "Exorcism" back in 1995 I was standing in front of the stage completely frozen and motionless. I will NEVER forget that
68fibua u forgot Till Lindemann
@@aircontroltv5993 both madmen. Jaz is very restrained here, Till was more scary on live aus berlin when he was muscular
The crowd was expecting Philip Scofield & Hollow Willoughby
HAAA HAAAA!" GREAT STUFF!" 👍🍄⚡⚡🧩
Instead they got fergies superb drumming ungrateful bassserds🤔👌
Jaz is the real Deal !!🤘👏🎶🎹🎤a true Rocker..😎🖤
Right On... KJ is the kind O band that will drop a jaw.
Wow! I can't believe how good they sound after all these years!
This sounds pretty good for being live in front of an unresponsive crowd during the day.
I think its because it was mostly a metal crowd there.
centralscrutinizer66 the sound is not that great, guitar and bass too loud and Jez sounds haggard.
This is a stellar and inspiring performance.
I think they should be proud that Nine Inch Nails repetely declared love for this band and massive influence also during the Hall of Fame induction conference of some days ago (specially Danny Lohner and Chris Vrenna).
Yep. Yeah Trent did a remix of their song Democracy on that album Wardance The Remixes back in 95, I think?
This is an inspiring live performance and worthy of the Gods!!
It's massive. My mixtape for Europe 85 after I had seen them live close up. The drummer pumping like a truck engine, The guitar trying to stay upright while trying to hold down those massive chords - sonic missiles while the bass is like a bear growling in the woods. Then Jaz vocalizes and chills the air which seemed to be in tune with the state of Europe 85. It was fun running into each other after the prank in the flight case, post-gig Cheers, and time flies Jaz. Keep pumping out the anthems.
One of the best songs of all the times! I nremember when i was on Bs As and listeng Feed Back on the radio. I remember that program called LONDON CALLING on rock and pop!
I've always loved Killing Joke. Awesome!
Very creative band, there style in sound is strong and unique .they got the recognition thru hard work..
I actually like this version better than the studio. More raw and powerful. The drummer even changed his highhat cymbal playing just a bit during the chorus. Awesome. Have to find a high quality audio version of this.
Open hi hats on the chorus works well!
💔❤un morceau qui resonne en moi depuis 1986...
great performance. lol at the bottle of wine. rock and roll
Glad to see you alive and well still sounds like it did back in the day
Tremenda banda.
Hasta ahora no los pude ver en vivo, espero hacerlo.
El sonido impecable y la presencia de Coleman hipnotizante.
his voice sounds even better now
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love that heavy sound
had the 7" vinyl back in day , played it to death
Seen em twice back in the 80s and both times they deafened me they were and
Still are bloody amazing there's no bullshit with this band keep going boys show em how it's done
Excelent song, excelent performance, excelent band!
brilliant brilliant tune
I went to the sick new world rock fest in vegas with such a good line up, korn, system of a down, prayers, POD, etc... just to finally see them perfrom. They did end up going i was devastated. One day i will even if i gotta fly to london. They are legends and im glad i found their music, its really something else
still beautiful after all these years...
Every time I see Killing Joke play, whether online or live, Geordie is playing this exact same guitar....always!! The wear is starting to show, too!
Hazen Gray yer, he probably has 5 of the same model.
Can you blame him though? It's a great guitar.
thanks for answering. it do helps, coz i didn't know that there's no pro shoot footage of the whole show, therefore you saved me a lot of time and worrying about finding it on the net. and yeah, i've already downloaded the mp3 version of this and listened to it 8374662135128x times and still counting. cheers
This still rocks, thanks
steen goed live optreden thank's for posting
Older is Jazz Coleman, better he is...And still absolutely mad !!!
Joël DI DOMIZIO his voice isn’t that far removed from the studio version 30 (!,) years before. Love from wessexshire
Love this performance, and such a great song this is. Love the stage make-up. Love this band. (new fan)
The best band ever.
Super band takes me back when music was music
Best band of the 80s !!!!!!!!!!!
Quanto mi piacerebbe vedere un concerto di Killing Joke.
Adoro questa canzone... Ciao
That guy can play the drums...wow!
Killing Joke... Todos unos guerreros tal como lo venían demostrando en sus inicios.. Nunca han defraudado. Sin duda un gran ejemplo para muchas bandas y seguidores...
BRINGS BACK MEMORIES!!!! AND MY TWO SONS ARE LOVING IT! THANKS FOR THE UPLOAD MATE CHEERS!
Best song by the best band ever!!!
One of the best songs that ever made it to the pop charts.
What a fucking great band
Cool & down to earth 😊
5:05 The crowd claps and don't even act like they ever heard this song before!!! DAMN!!! I wish I was there!!!
***** Where did thry find these people? If you know your alternative music you should know Killing Joke...please!!!
Jesus!! That guitar sound is bloody epic.
CARAJO¡¡¡¡ CANTA IGUALITO¡¡¡
I miss the 80’s.
That guitar still sounds good here
Extraordinary song, but the bass line here is a complete joke compared to the original by Paul Raven.
Paul Raven was not the original....Gene Hackman...err...Youth was.
@@TheWolfsnack I believe Lolo Z was referring to the original bass line for the song, not the original bassist. I think Raven was the bassist when this song was written. Not sure if he wrote the actual bass line but he sure as hell played it on the album.
wtf is he talking about
Yeah it's distorted for a start and not at all bouncy like the original. Think that's the original bass player though.
they have played heavy versions of that song for a long time. He plays the correct lines, just with a heavy sound, that's all.
Fuck me. Killing Joke still have the mad vibe here. I bought What's This For in 1981, and I am still trying to figure it out.
great music
Amazing. Just as tight as they were 30 years ago when I saw them live.
Brilliant !!!!!
What a great Song!
...just about as fuckin good as it gets!! Killing Joke still amazing. THAT guitar sound is a killer!! Amazing!!
