I heard this played over a tv show in the 90s but didn't know who or what it was - tried to find out over a span of twenty odd years - when I did find it , well it was one of those moments you never forget
It is very frustrating for a singer, when the audience is not able to accept his emotions flowing Through the songs to them.He feels that sings for dull crowd, and yet in that song inserted his whole soul ... is absolutely amazing ...Thank you Jaz
Who was on bass? It was good but I've come to realise their songs from the mid-eighties did lean more towards keyboards and production. Nightime and BTATS are my personal favourites. This live performance seems a bit rushed.
I remember the summer of 1985! It was she sells sanctuary, cities in dust & love like blood which everyone took to the dance floor! Happy days & the reason i took up the drums!
To most of us who appreciate their significance, they ARE big...period. To those who don't get them, well that's their tough shit for not widening their horizons.....
The Killing joke was the best small venue concert that I ever went to 1990 at the Masquerades in Ybor city (tampa) fl! Off the hook visually and musically!!
I'm impressed with their sound. I like how the drummer has kinda found a new groove for the song in the chorus. Dig it. Missing Raven's bass sound and style.
You may know, but actually the bass is played by Youth the original member, but yes this was Raven's bass line and he deserves the credit for this one.
They are still one of the best bands ever ....how can anyone not be moved by this song and with such a majestic amazing scary front man......love it 👍👍
Don't worry he's had all his rabies shots! Actually, Jaz is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. His energy is very calming in person. He's very genuine, he looks you in the eye when he shakes your hand, and doesn't rush you or make fun of your friend for being too shy to approach him himself! I have no problem breaking the ice, I love them both. Keep rockin' Sage Against The Machine!
I followed them around in the 80's Coventry, Brighton, Birmingham, Leicester, to name but a few...it was an awesome time...the music was so malevolent...suited the mood of the times for a generation looking for ground breaking music after the Sex Pistols (still the most influential band of the time and my late teenage years) It was a f***ing brilliant time to be young!
It's so fantastic to see the four of them back together again, playing as good, if not better than they ever did! Their music still vibrates to my very soul...they just AMAZE me! Big Paul...you really pound it home! Wow!
Nicolas Monti I was in it, thinking exactly the damn same, I think the crowd was there for Lamb of God and the other inaudible trash in the line-up. Heaven & Hell got a similar reception. :/
+Nicolas Monti Oh, come on, they're just kids! They've been too indoctrinated to IGNORE such energy and passion. Not their fault. They'll grow...and learn...
This was the first song i bought of theirs on a 7 in single. Also bought the night time album a little while later.Ah yeah such happy fucking days..........
It's massive. My mixtape for Europe 85 after I had seen them live close up. The drummer pumping like a truck engine, The guitar trying to stay upright while trying to hold down those massive chords - sonic missiles while the bass is like a bear growling in the woods. Then Jaz vocalizes and chills the air which seemed to be in tune with the state of Europe 85. It was fun running into each other after the prank in the flight case, post-gig Cheers, and time flies Jaz. Keep pumping out the anthems.
One of the best songs of all the times! I nremember when i was on Bs As and listeng Feed Back on the radio. I remember that program called LONDON CALLING on rock and pop!
Killing Joke... Todos unos guerreros tal como lo venían demostrando en sus inicios.. Nunca han defraudado. Sin duda un gran ejemplo para muchas bandas y seguidores...
I went to the sick new world rock fest in vegas with such a good line up, korn, system of a down, prayers, POD, etc... just to finally see them perfrom. They did end up going i was devastated. One day i will even if i gotta fly to london. They are legends and im glad i found their music, its really something else
I actually like this version better than the studio. More raw and powerful. The drummer even changed his highhat cymbal playing just a bit during the chorus. Awesome. Have to find a high quality audio version of this.
thanks for answering. it do helps, coz i didn't know that there's no pro shoot footage of the whole show, therefore you saved me a lot of time and worrying about finding it on the net. and yeah, i've already downloaded the mp3 version of this and listened to it 8374662135128x times and still counting. cheers
Seen em twice back in the 80s and both times they deafened me they were and Still are bloody amazing there's no bullshit with this band keep going boys show em how it's done
I think they should be proud that Nine Inch Nails repetely declared love for this band and massive influence also during the Hall of Fame induction conference of some days ago (specially Danny Lohner and Chris Vrenna).
I was actually under spell when Jazz performed a ritual during "Exorcism" back in 1995 I was standing in front of the stage completely frozen and motionless. I will NEVER forget that
A public, who had no idea what a historic and majestic band had in front... Sorry for that Killing Joke, I would have given everything to be there that day... what is happening to the public today, they don't know anything... .only drugs..
exellent, fab you name it. I stil remember when i've heard it first time somewhere in the begining of '90s. I thought what's that? it was brilliant still love them
Wow looks like the original band members and they sound awesome. amazing! Got this EP when it came out and still sounds as awesome now as it did in 1985 when I stated college.
saw them at corby, 200 capicity venue, it was amazing to see them in a small place , they just rocked , top live band , going to see them at brum , hurrah.
One of the best bands ever..remember seeing them à the Palace, Paris.. in 1982? With clair obscur as supporte.. we could buy the tickets because?, let s say?, an unusual way. The first mind blowing gig. .i d seen others before, but shit...here was that powerful sound i had never heard before, live. And jaz coleman looping like à posseded under control...a Mesmerising made up psychic. A slap in the face...for ages
I love this band. Have done since hearing their second LP, 'What's THIS for!' when I was about 18. And I love the fact they are still playing and sounding as good as ever. Such a good performance! Brilliant drummer, bassist, guitarist and frontman. What's that crazy cymbal you can see at 4:02?! Can't say I've seen one of those before...
Simply one of the best songs ever recorded by anybody, anywhere, ever. That's all there is to it.
I heard this played over a tv show in the 90s but didn't know who or what it was - tried to find out over a span of twenty odd years - when I did find it , well it was one of those moments you never forget
Dont forget psycho
only the voice had to be louder
I put this on all the mix tapes i made for people.
What you said. 👍
RIP GEORDIE ONE OF THE COOLEST GUITAR PLAYERS EVER.BEST TRACK EVER.GREAT BAND.SAD LOSS TO A TRULY GREAT MAN.
Big Paul the drummer is an absolute machine. holy shit he's hypnotising!
Geordie and that sound. Legend.
It is very frustrating for a singer, when the audience is not able to accept his emotions flowing Through the songs to them.He feels that sings for dull crowd, and yet in that song inserted his whole soul ... is absolutely amazing ...Thank you Jaz
Jaz doesnt give a shit 🙂
Who was on bass? It was good but I've come to realise their songs from the mid-eighties did lean more towards keyboards and production. Nightime and BTATS are my personal favourites. This live performance seems a bit rushed.
Public is sleeping
@@multiversos1 that's Youth on bass
Probably high on heroin or burned out already on Ecstacy.....
Absolute classic! My father played this to me when I was 10 and I was blown away and will love this memory of Dad showing me true music and lyrics.
Sounds like you have a Great dad!" 👍👍🍄⚡🧩
Like David said, what a Great Dad you had Cindy! This band helped me thru my teen years like no other!
That is PURE life.........(rock on man!!!!)

Jesus Big Paul on Drums what a LEGEND. No One BETTER.
I remember the summer of 1985! It was she sells sanctuary, cities in dust & love like blood which everyone took to the dance floor! Happy days & the reason i took up the drums!

Hahaha yes my 15 year old self was loving it!
Some great tracks!
Killing Joke is the darkest soundtrack of our lives.
They're not asleep. They're petrified by this astonishing performance of an everlasting song!
Gerodie's guitar is so hypnotizing!!!
This Band should have been bigger than they were........very talented! Those drums and guitars........wow!
Dat drum and bass section tho
To most of us who appreciate their significance, they ARE big...period.
To those who don't get them, well that's their tough shit for not widening their horizons.....
Way ahead of their time
The Killing joke was the best small venue concert that I ever went to 1990 at the Masquerades in Ybor city (tampa) fl! Off the hook visually and musically!!
The bass line is so excellent!
What's cool about this is that these blokes throw down even better 20 years after than they did on the original.
Getting some hollow body Billy Duffy tone out of that ES-295... Hell yes.
My sentiments exactly
I'm impressed with their sound. I like how the drummer has kinda found a new groove for the song in the chorus. Dig it. Missing Raven's bass sound and style.
the Raven King...
You may know, but actually the bass is played by Youth the original member, but yes this was Raven's bass line and he deserves the credit for this one.
Yeah but it’s YOUTH the original bassist
Rest In Peace PR 😭

Very creative band, there style in sound is strong and unique .they got the recognition thru hard work..
Beautiful drums, guitars and the unique Jaz Coleman. About as good as it gets
Tremenda banda.
Hasta ahora no los pude ver en vivo, espero hacerlo.
El sonido impecable y la presencia de Coleman hipnotizante.
Quanto mi piacerebbe vedere un concerto di Killing Joke.
Adoro questa canzone... Ciao
Every time I see Killing Joke play, whether online or live, Geordie is playing this exact same guitar....always!! The wear is starting to show, too!
Hazen Gray yer, he probably has 5 of the same model.
Can you blame him though? It's a great guitar.
Excelent song, excelent performance, excelent band!
