The Prodigy were punk for the rave generation. Everyone I know loved them: indie kids, handbag-house kids, techno freaks, emos, drum n basers. They brought us all together. EVERYONE. The 90s would have been nothing without them. I love them today as much as I did then. Music for *every* possible mood across the whole gamut of emotions. I can't believe the news today. They were that group that kinda united music fans in a way that no one else did.

DJs press a button now and jump around.. even daftpunk doesnt do thier sht live.. all genres.. imitate 70s 80s 90s artistry.. Now rappers try and capture this energy.. there are no live electronic bands singers live keyboards doin jack sht today.. its all kareoke today.. i didnt realise it at the time.. now lookin back.. music died in the 2000s.. the 90s was the end of live musicians.. this was literally the end of real live music..

I was like 8 years old, and heard my first Prodigy song on "The best dance album in the world part 2", it was Out of Space. I didn't think much of the slow bit, but the fast bit sold me, that was my thinking at the time. That was the first song I had on tape. My uncle was listening to The Prodigy, and that when I first heard Firestarter and saw the video.

Never forgot that gig.. still to this day one of best bands I’d ever seen live. Loved all their albums from Liam Howletts mix tapes before prodigy, b sides and experience album. They always changed direction with each album too though I did prefer the older ones. Still gutted too mate can’t believe it tbh

The Prodigy "Fat of the Land" British dance invasion was in full effect in the mid/late 90's. Many Americans thought that Keith was the frontman and that's how Prodigy sold themselves to the U.S. market. They had geniusly figured out that having a frontman was the key to being perceived by a conservative U.S. audience as a band.
