Olight gonna need to drop the price of the Arkfield after this drop 😂😂😂
The only thing I like about the Arkfield is the laser pointer
@@eriklambert3809 copy that I never thought it looked that cool, I have the EDC27 and the standard Stilletto
@austinbratton9973 the laser is nice because I can point out things in the distance out on the farm. Or maybe point things out to others with you on the street and do both functions at once with one hand. The thing I hate about these is they have tons of lumens, but not enough throw to me.
You watch they will come out with a tactical version of the ARKFIELD my friend
Indeed youre right
Great review thx! Remember using the Surefires in the Iraq campaign back in 2006. No Cree or rechargeables, limited bulb life but they saved my bacon more than once. Holding the nitecore EDC27 in my hand while watching this video amazed at how far we've come.
Nitecore has come a long way. I’ve been eyeing this light since it’s launch.
This is my EDC light, and I have some reservations. I was carrying it in my flashlight pocket in the rear of my HelikonTex pants. I found when I get in any of my cars, the light switch turns on. I had to move the light to a forward pocket to avoid the accidental activation of the light. The top switch is better, but a recessed switch would be better.
Hey, Ive had this light since Day one and I have to say I LOVE this light. I use it everywhere and it just feels good. make sure you lock it if you wear it in a crease area. only con but not to bad. those 3000 bursts really light up area and I use it in second low for most stuff and it just lasts long time. I like over the rest so far
I have 3 different headlamps and 1 weapon light for my carbine. They are amazing. Great price to quality ratio
A great light, I love it. Remember it does have a two lockout features (1 and 2), one for each button. Enjoy! Great video.
That’s a nice light!!! Need to make lights in this type of form factor, that can have a replaceable battery. IPX8 rating would also be great. I also see this as a very competitive segment
Good looking light and review , thanks for sharing , God bless !
Great looking flashlight. Thanks for sharing, & stay safe
this's the most cinematic freakin flashlight review I've ever seen. they need to make something like this but front-facing. mmf.
Looks likes a nice light...I think I'll get one. Only thing I'm wondering is why they go from 200 to 1k lumens. Wouldn't it make more sense if there was something in the middle like 5 or 600 lumens in-between the 200 and 1k?
Love that light!
Nitecore EDC27 v2, one of the best EDC flashlights on the market. Good review, thanks 👍
Great Light. I love NiteCore products. I also like and it's my main go-to that's not as flat but shorter is their P18 model. The P18 has a red light with a separate button which works great for night work when I want stealth and the tail cap doesn't stick out.
Mine is now incapable of the 3000 lumen burst and will not sustain 1000 lumens - after 2 months of light use.
Beware the reviewers who have "click here for a coupon code." They are just ads.
The flashlight I have been waiting for
i dont see the appeal, i just got the sofirn IF23, so many more features for 1/3 the price...
@@neoaliphant the design of the if23 is more reminiscent of the p18, rather than the edc27, and to be honest the sofim looks kinda cheap, but then again I have never owned one, so I might be wrong... but like you said, I don't see the appeal
@@frank-castle ive got the if23, compared to p18, if23 has 2x the lumens, side floodlight, full rgb of sifferent colours sidelight, coloured flashing, powerbank functionality, for 1/3 the price.....
@@neoaliphant the power bank functionality looks cool on paper but I feel like it would be counter-productive, expecially because double the lumens may potentially mean half battery life... and the full rgb colors I don't really care for. Like I said I never owned one (on the contrary I own 4 different nitecore flashlights and none of them failed me after years/months of daily use) if I happen to get ahold of one I can make a more informed opinion for sure, but for now it looks more like a toy than something that I could rely on at work or in an emergency.
@@frank-castle ive used the 4000 lumens a few times as a spotlight across a field, but normally i use it on the lower setting, so its good to have the option, but jave a max of 4000 doesnt reduce life. the floodlight on side however does increase life as its a more efficient worklight, and ive used it quite a bit for that, the coloured rgb side lights is a bit of a gimick, but its cool and means i have anotehr emergency flasher for the car, magnetoc endcap, justs stick on car roof. i can appreciate nitecore has better build quality, im very happy with leatherman and wouldnt go for anything less like a gerber or swisstech, but i had loads of maglites fail on me low buoild quality, sofirn feels premium, been using for over a month, as does the klarus g15 ive had before, ive heard loads of people have issues with olight, but that they heavily promote to reviewers....
My favorite flashlight is still the Olight warrior sensible prepper sold me on that warrior wonder if he remembers
Great video
Which do you prefer for flat EDC, the EDC27 or the Arkfeld UV, and why?
Noticed that OLITE doesn’t have the Arkfield on sale for Father’s Day. Must be out of them, was waiting to get one now, but this one looks very nice.
Was looking for info related to the lockout function of this light.
It has the ability to lockout the main power button, alone, or both buttons, entirely.
Nice
After seeing this, I purchased one... thanks!
Whats your opinion on this light now that you have had it for a while?
@chriscassel1128 The only downside is the menu is still confusing. I have another Nitecore light that I carry every day that is helping to resolve the issue.
@@chetfriday7636 which nitecore is that?
Dude I've been using a Thrunite TN12 for yrs , i find it fantastic. Am i falling behind the times ? Or will it be still highly comparative for another 10 yrs? Regards Tony from Australia.
Is there a version with uv and laser like the olight?
I like what I see🥰
I have this flashlight and I haven really happy with it. Only negative thing might be the battery that you can't get new one so easily but I think that when it's gone I want to buy newer flashlight anyways so I don't mind about it too much.
You can probably replace it with a tiny screwdriver and some determination, but who knows... the tm12k looked like you could back when I had it.
@@mr.frandy7692Well problem is probably not going to be how to open it but more like where to get new right size battery for it.
Excelle t review! Just fyi Lithium Polymer are flat. Lithium Ion are circular like the small batteries we're used to... Both can deliver similar power output but Lithium Polymer can deliver higher current for longer, but it's also more unstable than Lithium Ion (unstable as in boom).
If we use it for about 1-2 hours without turning off the lights, is there a problem?
Sweet looking light
Nice. I felt a little unhappy that I bought the Surefire Stiletto Pro but then I saw that this light doesn't have a reversible clip like the Stiletto Pro. I like being able to clip my light to my hat for hands free operation. Plus I'm OK paying a little more for "Made in America" or even just "Assembled in America."
Did you ever notice it getting uncomfortably warm?
I think for what I would want is in the 60-200 lumens, but having that extra capability intrigues me, especially in an emergency situation. However, if I have it at 1000 lumens for 10 mins and it gets so hot that I can't hold it, then it probably isn't worth the money.
I think I’d like that over the Arkfeld.
I carry this light daily. Great in the pocket tho I noticed that the protruding button has a tendency to get pressed when I sit with it in my jeans pocket. Hard to notice when this happens until it gets hot enough to burn you 😂
I made this same comment abut 8 months ago then figured out it can be locked.
Need a momentary one with mine I have to click it on and click it off!! But it's a good light
I like flat. I EDC a little light that is tubular I think it’s an innova but it is admittedly pretty low lux
This isn't going roll away!
How's it holding up?
Airfeild needs a special charger and the Edc27 needs a deeper pocket clip the streamlight wedge is best
I have only 3 problems with this light 1. Button doesn't always work so you have to press it multiple times. 2. Lenses feel like that they could scratch easily when it's in your pocket. 3. You can't change battery to it.
Needs texture where the screen is for grip during drawing out of the pocket
Interesting light. I see this as a no-brainer for the armed citizen or plains clothes police or security work. Primarily a tactical/defensive light with enough functionality to serve as general purpose. Wear a suit and tie and carry a gun? This is your light. I'm tempted.
i got their discontinued SRT9 The Lumintop EDC18 is better than the EDC27 because the 2800 lumen turbo mode can stay on a lot longer
IMO, an EDC flashlight needs a moonlight setting. I also think that a tail switch is necessary for proper use in a self-defense situation. Those 2 issues knock the Streamlight and Olight out of the running.
That just leaves the Surefire & Nitecore options. I don’t really like the width (not the thickness) of the Surefire and I don’t like the clip/carry height of the Nitecore. Sigh…
Just quick questions guys with these flashlight 🔦 what do you guys usually use it for
Eg. Night time I get out my car I usually use it if my streets too dark..
What about the negatives
I accidently burned some black foam with 4000lumens from a nitecore T4K... Didn't see any flames, but with the smoke i think i wasn't too far off...
I'm seriously thinking about getting edc27 to replace T4K... The thinner profile just looks to be so much more livable.
I bet that light gets hot.
Does thing have a UV light ?
No
What type of battery life are we talking for $100 flashlight?
Love my Arkfeld UV, but 3000 lume makes it 🤔
I did notice this one did not take a swim in the pool
I like the idea but i refuse to buy any light with a proximity sensor. Heard nothing but bad things about them
Overall nightcore has been more dependable than olight.
Got it for $71 on prime day
Hate the o light arkfeld. Bought two they are just extras now. The beam i terrible
I tell everyone.....I been carrying a flashlight for over 20 years now and even over a knife..... It's my most used tool I carry. I'm a simple single AA battery light person as it's easy to carry a extra AA in ab little tube case in my pocket. I like the idea of a rechargeable but I wish I could find one that has ab removable 14500 Battery cuz it's AA size, that way I could buy AA if I need my light now even if the power output wouldn't be as much on AA. But also I don't want to have to take the 14500 out to charge it, a magnetic charger system is what I would want. That way it's easy to charge and I could still carry a extra battery and be able to buy regular AAs if needed.
Anyone know of a light that don't cost a arm and a leg?
Does anyone have a problem with hitting the button accidentally in the pocket? Seems like that would burn the crap out of you!
If you’re worried about that you have to ability to “lock” the light so that the boutons won’t do anything unless you “unlock” it.
The Surefire is over double the price and not even fully waterproof
It needs a bit more candela.
very important feature not mention................................ IT LOCKS
Surefire still on micro usb 😂 why American companies wanna milk it till the last minute I went nitecore olight and rovyvon haven’t turn back since and I was a die hard surefire fan boy now all I have left is the stiletto pro because it’s so simple wish it had usb c
double aught
Cyclindrical....sticks out a little bit but gives you something to grab hold of....hmmm....thats what she said.
These flashlights that are charge only need to be changed up where you can have spare batteries in case of grid down. Don't think your going to recharge all your things by solar not going to happen.
I want to know how replaceable the battery is . Chinese battery technology is dangerous with well known qc issues .
a fool and his money are soon parted
The screen looks cheap. You can already see a ding on the lower part of screen in the video.
Olight sux! Stop pushing them I no they pay you to push them, surefire or streamlight
Really mad in US when it says CE right on the front of the surefires that means china export 🤣🤣
Not necessarily. The CE can also be a european proof mark, which existed way before the chinese came up with their version of CE to mimick it. Straight Up chinese fraud.
That Surefire isn't even waterproof at over double the price...Who the hell makes a modern flashlight that isn't waterproof 🤷
CE is the European Health and Safety mark, meaning the product has met EU standards
"CE" stands for "conformité européenne", meaning it's been certified for trade in the European Economic Area.
I bought this light after watching this video. I am very disappointed in the light. The light is a great light if it is not carried in the pocket. The switch is horrible. When carried in a pocket it gets turned on and the battery will be dead when you are ready to use it. This has happened to me twice and one of those times was during a power failure at work. After that happened I said that's enough and it stays in my lunch box.
Why didn't you just lock the flashlight........ you know you can do that right. Just hold the power button.
@@hasanexm I did not know that. I figured it out though thanks, I carry it everyday now.
Obsolescence programmée
Quand la batterie interne sera hors service, la lampe ira à la poubelle
Can only hope to not activate the light while it's in ur pocket, burning ur leg
I made this same comment abut 8 months ago then figured out it can be locked.
@@drillkjh how long does it take to cool down after use
This is just a citizen flashlight with a pocket clip. No way to mount it on your suit, shines light in only one direction, not magnetic, not tactical either. Hightech-looking flashlight, which sacrifices utility for lumens power. No EDC in mind.
These lights are not a new design... They are just bicycle lights😂
Well 1000 lumens and "3000" lumens 🤔 I don't see a BIG difference.. looks more like 2000 lumens. Mi $28 sorfin sc31t pro Bright exactly the same on high bean like this $90 flashlight. Nothing impressed 🤷🏻
Too long and too expansive. Just like the Arkfield... but i guess its a matter of taste.
Both are good
Whaaat? You mean it's not an Olight?? Lol
The Arkfield bows down to the EDC27 😂😂😂
Olights are cheap, if your an olight fan it makes it hard to take your opinion seriously.
Otay buckwheat
