    I like the one press turbo/strobe button. I don't want to be in the wrong mode in emergency situation. Just press and it's what I want.

    Great review. Definitely feel like I'd prefer my edc27 over the edc25. But Great for nitecore to have the options in this flat style edc light.

    I've been looking at getting the EDC27 for a very long time and saw the EDC25 release and definitely had to do a double take. If I had bought the EDC27 first, I would not be making the upgrade/switch to the 25. However, because I weighed my options on both first, the EDC25 is a no brainer for me. The OLED seemed great, but it was just another thing that would likely crack or break in my line of work. The extra throw is amazing too. I'm surprised nightcore hasn't developed a computer program that allows you to further customize your flashlight's settings through the usb connection, they are definitely one of the leading manufacturers in their field, it would be an amazing feat. I agree that the mid tier lumens definitely could be higher, but I am very very happy with the 25 and glad I waited. Plus the slightly cheaper price for something a little better suited for my line of work is an added benefit.

      The OLED screen doesn’t crack, it scratches easily because it’s a soft, flexible plastic window.

    Just received the EDC 25! Really impressed from the former version. It’s lighter close to 100 g. The throw is impressive. Indeed, the buttons are more responsive and firm. The switch strobe and full power is really quick so not a dealbreaker for me. I miss five lumen moonlight mode. Overall, really really happy with it!

    Just got my edc25 for USD$55.70 and heck yeah im in love for this price. I go for casual hikes and walks and it definitely is overkill. But its super fun especially it being so slender and small foorprint.

    I disagree with most people on here. This edc25 is more robust and can reach out farther with more candella. I think its a win and a step up. Great review! Doesn't it have a proximity sensor as well?

      @ChrispyThings  Месяц назад +2

      So here’s the thing. I see a hole in between the emitters but it doesn’t do anything. I tested to see if it was a prox sensor and the light didn’t dim at all.

    Don’t apologize for the rain 😅 very good review as usual. I actually ordered and returned the EDC 27. I hated the buttons so it’s a good plus upgrade, having to choose between strobe and turbo is probably a trade-off for consistent UI not ideal, but probably a good flashlight. I will repeat that. I still regret they not introducing Bluetooth customization for flashlights, but otherwise how will they continue to sell us new lights and make the previous obsolete.😅

    I have the edc27 and I think the screen makes it stand out. The screen gives you more information and better informatiom. Nitecore didnt make enough changes for me to switch. If i didnt have the edc27 then I would get the edc25

  • @Roman-nu1om

    I need Turbo + Strobe which kills the EDC25 for me. Also the floody beam on the EDC27 is way more useful IMO. The OLED display is rather a gimick and both lights urgently need a slider lockout button like the EDC33/35 has.

    Too big to EDC. Won't fit in my flashlight pocket on my tactical pants. Was impressed with the 3K lumens until I found out it uses 2 LEDs to achieve it.
    Tail switch contol is good for tactical but not for EDC. It's awkward in normal every day situations.
    Thrunite BSS is far superior. Has normal controls for normal use but also a tail switch for tactical use.

    I went ahead and bought a replacement Arkfeld Pro with the racing stripes this time instead of the EDC25. I liked my EDC27, but I think it lasted two days for me before it fell from waist height on one of the buttons and it lost its tactility. The EDC27 also melted the base of one of my magazines within an hour of putting it in my pocket the day I got it. I was willing to ignore that part because I loved the form factor and screen so much, but the UV light and much more durable button in the Arkfeld Pro won out after the EDC27 failed. If there's an EDC26 With the upgraded button and the screen, I'll buy it. If they release one with a slick theme or titanium like the Olights, I'll be first in line.
