I bought the SG in that tiger blue finish because, just look at it. It sounded amazing but the infamous SG neck dive syndrome made it too uncomfortable to play, so I exchanged it for the Les Paul in the olive tiger finish. It wasn't my first choice but I was quickly glad I made the switch, because the Les Paul is the only one in the series with separate voicing controls for each pickup.
They all sound exactly the same so the nice thing is you really can pick just based off style, although the SGs are known for being very comfortably light
I'm really really liking the clean tones on these maybe even moreso than the high driven tones. They almost have a harp like chime quality about them which I haven't heard from any other model. Very modern and elegant sounding which are two descriptors I never use together
I tried it out at the store, it’s gorgeous but I wasn’t in the market for one. The inlays are beautiful and the features are modern. If you want one, I suggest get it. Worth the price.
I used to own the old Prophecy model (2007-2009? Model) and It worked perfectly for Drop C Metalcore stuff. The only thing was that I had to get the neck string part (sorry i forgot the name) adjusted for .52 strings. .46 were good but once I switch to .52 string the guitar sounded and felt WAY better for Metalcore/Hard rock ect
Exactly what I wanted to know. A rep at zzounds said the ones in the sg are not the fishman fluence modern or the classic pickups, that the sg has fishman fluence proprietary pups. But I have no idea what they are though difference wise
They sounds so different in comparison to other yt-Channels. I don't like the Sound here, on other Channels it's really nice. So I have to try it at the Store or still play my own Guitars :-D
I like the idea for people who want to play this kind of music (not me), but personally I'd never pay that much for any Epiphone. Great looking and sounding guitars.
Meh ? To me these are just better than LTD or Schecter on this market. I'm gonna grab a Prophecy Les Paul, its just the best value for money out there plus these looks incredible
These should all come with black hardware. That brushed nickel looks terrible especially on my tiger eye lp. First mod is getting rid of that serif hardware.
There is no modern/vintage distinction with the single coil voicing. The single coil voicing is a 3rd seperate voicing that overrides the other 2 voicings (modern/vintage). You might wanna learn how the guitar works before reviewing it.
These look like zakk wylde guitars. No stainless steel frets and the abolone in the inlays which if they didnt it would really look like a zakk wylde guitar. Pass. I think solar makes the best metal guitars.
I'm in LOVE with that Flying V!!! I just might need to have a new gear day soon!
I preordered one, that guitar is so freaking cool looking.
That Les Paul prophecy is going to be my next guitar. These are such great sounding guitars with versatility.

That olive burst. We all know what it looks like. And it rhymes with aged liverwurst
It's the best looking finish.
yup. Nice finish!
proper size diamond on the headstock.
the sg, but look closely, the Les Paul doesn't have the full sized diamond
They all sound exactly the same so the nice thing is you really can pick just based off style, although the SGs are known for being very comfortably light
They feel like your gonna break the dam thing . I have a early 80's Epiphone Les Paul standard pro and it's pretty light for a Les Paul.. pssttt

The SG sounds AMAZING, especially the clean tones in the neck and middle positions, The bridge position sounds great when you up the gain.
These look and sound bonkers
I think I found my next guitar. I've fallen in love with my first epiphone O.o
I need that blue sg, it looks so good
I tried it out at the store, it’s gorgeous but I wasn’t in the market for one. The inlays are beautiful and the features are modern. If you want one, I suggest get it. Worth the price.
I just tried one yesterday. Going back to buy it today. I was not at all in the market for an sg. I was going in for a few rgr's to hang on my wall
Hi! I thought that the volume-knobs where for single-coil split and the volume was for PAF/Modern switching? -AP
Thanks for explaining how you set the 3 voicings for the pickups.
That Les Paul is definitely my next guitar 🎸
I thought the tone knob push/pulls put it into PAF mode and volume knob push/pulls into split coil?
That is true, I own the Epiphone Extura/Explorer model and the tone controls vintage/modern, volume is single coil split
Hello ! Great professional video! Do u think the Prophecy neck is better than last Gibson slim taper one? Thanks, Marco
Really want to try one...
The Epiphone flying v , how heavy is the neck and does it dip .. ?
Great video! Much appreciated! Awesome guitars
Great review! I'm getting to love this channel, you have much love for metal stuff :)
Thanks for the comprehensive review! Cheers!
Great review-demo,very cool guitars!!
What's better between Epiphone Les Paul Custom 2020 and Epiphone Prophecy 2020? What do you suggest?
"They're all in black of course....because they're metal" Hahaha SOLD
I'm an LP guy, but that black V is growing on me like crazy.
wait, i just got the blue tiger sg, whats the difference between the proprietary and fluence pups?
Hi, How much does the Les Paul Prophecy weigh?
Are these only available on pre order?
Great guitars and great fishman pick ups!
The les paul model
Is $200 off right now at guitar center and ams. Certain colors are still full price
Damn dude.. You shred. Lol. I just got the new les paul. Even better than the last gen. Amazing axe. Highly recommend.
So would some killswitch engage sound good on this thing? I want to hear some drop c stuff.

@@Cptdudewtf7896 very different kind of pickups, which make up your tone way more than string gauge.. These Fishman pickups should be fine.
Am gonna get an Explorer for sure
What amps use in this VDO?
There are multiple videos of people that have the entire line with them and they don't even touch the V! So frustrating!
My extura had multiple high frets but what else is new with Epiphone? Not that great in my opinion, much better can be bought elsewhere.
So what's the difference between epiphone prophecy fishman fluence for the V and LP and fishman fluence proprietary on the EX and SG?
Exactly what I wanted to know. A rep at zzounds said the ones in the sg are not the fishman fluence modern or the classic pickups, that the sg has fishman fluence proprietary pups. But I have no idea what they are though difference wise
Wow, sounds frickin brutal .. Epiphone is killing it on quality .
What amp and speakers are you using on this demo ... Nice playing ...
I'm surprised there isn't more hype around these tbh
My Les Paul Olive Tiger Aged will be delivered tomorrow!
Where did you order it?
I only with the les paul had the big diamond on the headstock like the sg has
Definitely wanting that Olive-burst LP!
Do they all have the maple cap or do the V and Explorer only have veneer? Thanks!
Maple cap and veneer!
I own the explorer
awesome guitar and sound
Does the prophecy SG have neck dive problems?
Don't they all have? 🤔
This Prophecy SG is actually quite heavy (7lb 10oz) so I don't think there would be much neck dive.
Where are they made in?
Monastero Arcano China
Yep China
and why didn't you demo the v properly?
The pickups and all other specifications are the same on the V
Where are the guitars made ?
China.
Got the pull knobs backward.
Not a fan of those bursts at all but they sound amazing and the versatility of the pickups is fantastic. Maybe I'll get a solid black one
I started on a green Epiphone SG but sold it. These new SG might get me back into Epiphone
Now if it was a bass contour instead of neck tone knob and then a master tone, that would be so perfect i would have a heart attack.
How much does it cost?
$899 USD
@@johnnyd00d11 Is it made in china?
vtwintora yes
I didn't notice this before, but it's a shame that the Les Paul headstock doesn't have the full sized split diamond, weird because the SG does.
If they offer the V in the olive burst it’s just over. Finally Gibson does something right with Epiphone that looks like a winner for players.
They don’t sound as metal as i thought but impressive still.
Really?
Depends what its being plugged into
I'd say that's a good thing for active pickups honestly lol
Good video-p
Omg that flying v

Surprisingly, the PAF voice is a pretty spot on to an old les paul
Why did they make the explorer wonky looking? They didn't mess with the other shapes. It just seems really unnecessary, like did anyone ask for this?
It's not technically an Explorer. It's called an Extura, which combines elements of the Explorer and the Ventura.
13:23 Mark😲
The olive tiger aged gloss looks a lot like the Adam Jones signature silverburst 🤷♂️
These are kind of meh but I get what they are trying to do.
Meh ? To me these are just better than LTD or Schecter on this market. I'm gonna grab a Prophecy Les Paul, its just the best value for money out there plus these looks incredible
@@KakuraZenom just get a gibson m8 they’re way bettee
@@zvlhelme For the money, these blow Gibson away.
@@antma9028 a gibson explorer is worth every penny
@@zvlhelme Hey man, go rob a bank and get one!
When Epiphone one ups Gibson.
Ephiphone is no joke.......
Just bought this new at Sam Ash NEW for $699 with 48 month financing ($15/month), 0% interest!-p

Nice guitars, good specs, but... Very overpriced! 950euro for an Epiphone? No way.
Overpriced ? Best value for money here have you look at the specs ?
Better specs than a Gibson worth 3 times more ! Cheaper than LTD, Schecter...
have you seen the specs! the flying v has binding all over the body and abalone inlays, fishman pups, grover locking tuners, and splittable pups
I’m not a huge fan of epiphone but to say this is overpriced is ridiculous, the specs to all of this are incredible and it looks amazing in person.
You're paying for the specs
That amp sounds really bad

Ugly colours ngl
