The intro is exactly what ONLY Andertons can do: Remind guitarists everywhere HOW FUN it is to play with your guitar buddies - Silly smiles and spontaneous laughter - Pushing your friends to try and out-shred you - Fantastic unrehearsed music!!! When Danish Pete and Rabea exchange licks - Magic always happens!
You should do another youtube channel called "Andertons Music Intro Jams" and put all the jams there, I would listen to them as normal music, and I'm sure others would too.
I know every job has its downsides and mundane moments and days, but y’all just look like you have so much fun doing what you do and it’s awesome to watch!
@@jjbast the effort and difficulty it takes to overcome a hurdle such as losing a sizeable amount of weight in a healthy manner is certainly inspiring. Your apathy is most definitely not.
okay so the opening jam has me sold already god damn and I've gotta say, Epiphone is becoming so compelling as a brand I honestly don't see myself buying a Gibson considering what Epiphone has to offer for the price.
Never thought I'd hear myself say this, but BRAVO Epiphone! And the fact that Gibson's actually letting them make 'em THAT close now...a win for the masses! Must have that SG...
Prophecy SG was my first Guitar and I still to this day f'ing love that guitar. It just feels so good to play. Got me thinking I need to try these babies out.
These are amazing sounding! One thing I wish active pickup/circuit equipped guitars have that I have yet to see: A battery status LED indicator. Something that would help me gauge the battery life a bit better!!
So much gain we are begging for some loss. I still play my old Epiphone SG prophecy often. Still has the old EMG 81-85 array but I am real curious about those Fishmans. Especially with coil tapping. Nice video guys!
I know this video is old, but I'm close getting a Prophecy Extura and this so pushed me over the edge. I might get both the Extura AND the SG. Those sound wicked! Of course Pete and Rabea could make parachute cords sound good, so...
I want that red les Paul. It’s like the slash one but cheaper, more accessible, both playing and paying wise and better looking with the brushed hardware.
These guitars are punching way above their weight. Good on Epi for being the first brand to take the Fluence plunge. I'm a metal guy, yeah, but that single coil bridge setting is SRV for days. This line is aimed at metal players, but frankly, metal is the easiest tone to dial in; everything else these can do is what sells me.
Love the looks of the explorer, but that SG took the show! That tone ! Modern but brought me back to foghat, danish pete , lee, and that other guy, these reviews are better than television
I just bought a new Jackson and epiphone had to go and do this... I have one of the original Prophecy Futura EX's and its a monster of a guitar for the money. Now I'm gassing for one of these....lovely.
I knew Rabea and Pete wouldn’t let me down. I’ve been waiting for a good review of these with more vintage and blues with these. We all knew they could do modern but I wanted to know about the paf and split switch and man did y’all deliver
Great vid as always guys, but may I correct you on one thing, the single coil voice on the fishmans overrides the others, so if you have both pots pulled you have the single coil always
Having bought a new Epiphone this year (2020 LP Special) I'd say that it's a big bonus that they went with something other than Epi p/ups here....If you ignore the ridiculous amount of "out of the box" high frets that I had to pay to have leveled, the only major complaint I had with the guitar were the EPI P-90s...They were okay, but after 3 months of playing them I had them switched out for Gibson P-90s and the change was dramatic...(When I went to pick up the guitar the tech who did the work said "Man I forgot how good Gibson pickups were...this thing sounds great"...) The other thing to check is whether there's a gig bag included - probably not...Not the biggest deal but potentially another expense on top of the price of the instrument...Still, given that you probably won't feel compelled to buy, and pay to install, different p/ups is a huge plus, imo... And P.S...Purple Pete had a spectacular outing on guitar today - even by his lofty standards...Forget Tiger King, can't you just picture him in a Barney suit with a matching purple axe?...
Yaaaaaaas! Im sooooo happy these are finally out. Can you please do a quick video of the Les Pauls when they come so we can see the finishes in real life? I’m gonna buy that green LP and that Purple explorer. Both B-E-A-tiful.
Great video, amazing tone. Love how Danish Pete's fake British accent accentuates when Rabea's around. Well done guys showcasing these new Epiphone Prophecy guitars.
That sg is quite nice sounding The pickups sound excellent and have alot more clarity than the probuckers which I find somewhat wooly on the lower frequencies ⁸
As much as I want to love them, the headstock on the old prophecy EX Les Pauls were just the most beautiful thing, not sure about these new "not quite Gibson" headstocks but v excited to try them!
The old clip ear headstock and modern headstock are both traditional epiphone headstock. What people don't realise epiphone are a older guitar manufacture than Gibson. Gibson traditionally was a mandolin manufacturer. Back in day epiphone was Gibson biggest rival. Les pauls original log was an epiphone Les Paul worked for epiphone things could of been very different if epiphone had taken Les up on his solid body guitar. In many way Les and Gibson saved epiphone.
Ten minutes ago I would have said £800 is too much for an epiphone. But damn they sound phenomenal and now I'm looking round my room at what I can sell to get one.
Grand. Absolutely grand. Really rocking in a real and fun way. No script. No problem. Bob’s your uncle. Carry on the great video chaps! Prosperity is right around the corner. . . You have something special. Good day.
Dam Guys you sound so amazingggg MY goodness that there was me in a box . I swear . will record you my brothers blowed my mind . the shit i.m plying . That damn intro was the shit . Wow you two guys are what I am . My favorite
The Split Diamond inlay in Rabea’s SG looks way bigger than the one in the photos on the website and I find it way cooler and truer to spec, just like the Gibsons. I really hope the production line gets the big one!
Rabeas split diamond on that SG looks like a full size one you'd see on a Gibson but the photos on the website show it as the smaller split diamond associated with epiphones?
hiya! loved the review, but how are the sizes compared to the normal production models? i read the explorer is a bit smaller as it's normal counter part. Greetings!
Finally something good in the Epiphone lineup. Felt like the 2020 lineup was going to be like 2020 itself. Now if only the put out an ultra IV. Never got around to getting a III, and it's got some great tones.
fantastic playing and video as usual but are the pickups really better than the emgs in the original and are the necks thinner on the original they do sound good but not sure if better what do you think
Nice. My first real guitar was almost a prophecy. I think it was a GX in a crimsony color. Instead I ended up with a 2013 Gibson SGJ after watching Rob and Lee review them. I stuck around after.
