I don't think I have seen Dagan that much into playing a guitar he reviewed before. Dagan, I think your message and the sound came through. Finally, some versatility to a gibson style guitar!
It seems like a lot of us were feeling that. As soon as I first saw the prophecy in one of the namm video's I no longer cared about the "rumors" about the Adam Jones Cause it looked just like it and I wouldn't have to sell all the souls of my family to get one.
I've got the fishman fluence in an ec-1000 and it's a beast! I like the look of this better, but I'm going to just stick with the EC until I save up for a gibson. The fluence pick ups are so awesome. Super nice paf, incredible hot rod, and crisp coil split.
The good pickups are $200 each. The good tuners around $100. That's $500 to upgrade a cheap epiphone, plus labor if you take it to a guitar guru to do the work. I priced it all the first time I heard my guitar humming. I think the best thing to do is play my cheap guitar, get better at playing, and save up for my total upgrade. I'm a broke pay check to pay check guy so I'll never get a Gibson but Epiphone does make some high end stuff that won't break the bank. Other companies make affordable guitars too. I have a $200 Jackson guitar that sounds great. It would be perfect with better tuners. It jumps out of tune after using the whammy a few times.
@@brianpartlow5530 I’m in the same boat but a strat guy. I’ve had this Mexican made strat and it’s amazing. It has been through a lot. Got stolen, recovered by the cops after a pawnshop reported it. Got stolen again later found at a bar and then returned to me. It’s fallen so many times off of couches downstairs you name it but it’s still perfect. For some reason it stays in to no matter what. I can’t explain why it has such a good sustain naturally, i’ve compared it to other guitars in the same range and similar range and it just doesn’t make sense. 24 frets! I just found out about these. I don’t like the dull finish and wish they had a gloss option, but 24 frets in a Les Paul! Welcome to the 21st century!
The only good thing to come out of 2020: The New Epiphone line! They killed it this year. I have this, the 1959, the Standard 60s, and SG Standard and they are all beyond impressive!
A really good point. I was watching some of Trogly's recently videos and some of the original Les Paul silverbursts he was featuring were pretty much that exact color.
Is it me or the top carve seems more accentuated, like the more vintage les pauls? It has sexy curves, whereas usually the top carve seems flatter and les cool?
this actually seem way more flat like if the carving was just around the area where the bridge and pickups are, and it also seems to be slimmer, I think the $900 price is too much for it, i would and will get a real gibson instead.
Definitely getting one of those purple V's to go along w/ my 2016 Midnight Sapphire LP Prophecy. Im glad they chose to go w/ Fishman Fluence pickups. But ive heard rumors that they're gonna retail for around $900-$1000
I want the red one! Or the blue and black SG! I like that crystal clear sound! I have the LP special 2. You get a little humming noise depending on the settings. Depends on what you want out if it. If you're more into metal, I would suggest getting the Prophecy as it has hotter (and to some better) pickups, 24 frets and a satin neck. So the main differences really are the pickups and finish. And one more thing - the prophecy has locking tuners!
@The Great Awaking 4899 it's been a really great guitar. The Fishmans are clear and crisp, and I like the two octave fingerboard. No drawbacks whatsoever. This and my Eclipse have become my go to guitars.

Bit if I‘m not on the wrong path of thougts, these might be plug and play within the fluence series, so it would be pretty easy to swap 'em out against regular fluence moderns or open core classics.
Gotta say I was ready to buy one online after watching reviews and reading specs, but was fortunate to find one in a local mega-store and .... yeccchhh The neck feel is just...wrong. The stock pickups are so sensitive as to be irritating (this may be a learning curve issue), although I did coax a nice singing lead out of the store's Katana amp. What's baffling is the SG & Les Paul are the same price in Epiphone, however a Gibson Les Paul standard is much pricier than an SG standard.
