I also upgraded from an XR back in February but opted for the Pro Max as it was on sale for the same price as the Pro 256GB without a sale. I’m probably not going to upgrade for maybe another five years as the battery lasts about over 6.5hrs with somewhat heavy usage vs the 1.5hrs on the XR (with 82% BH). Honestly my 15PM has been so good that it’s almost kind of boring. Which is a good thing. Performance, battery life, cameras, and build quality has been all so good that I can focus on more important things in life atm.
Thank you for a great perspective on the iPhone 15 Pro. This is a very worthwhile tone to strike, about a great phone. Thanks also for explaining how Apple selectively removes the Pro Models each year from its lineup to increase sales, even if discounted. Very informative😊. It is an amazing Smart Phone, but to hear it from a Tech Reviewer is affirming of my decision to buy it in late August.

That's actually a really great idea. Having the 13 mini for the $429 price. I've edited this comment three times thinking about this idea lol. But the only downside is they are no longer in production so they won't make more to sell standalone from them
Knock on wood, but one thing that makes the 15 pro unique is that these are the only devices that have this generation of chip. It doesn’t have a corresponding M series chip, because after the A16 based M3 chip, the M4 chip skips a generation and is based on the A18.
I’ve had the 15 pro since last September and it’s been such a great phone and felt like a big upgrade over my 13 pro. Probably will keep it another 2 years
It’s funny to me that you say that this is the first year you didn’t upgrade. I’ve upgraded since the 12 pro max and when I got the 15 pro max last year this is the first time I didn’t upgrade as well. It wasn’t worth it for me I had the iPhone X for years and years before I upgraded too
I think at some point a smartphone should not be updated yearly, they should just wait a few years until they came up with something major, kinda like cameras or gaming console
@@gailenrique2804 from consumer standpoint, yes thats the way. But what im saying is for the company they could innovate better given more time and also save some money for WAY better product in the future
It’s strange how people think it’s too soon for a new console generation after 5 years when a pro iPhone is twice the price and some people change them every year. I personally change phones every 2-3 years but even that is unnecessary. I’d happily use an iPhone 12 or even the XS today as long as the battery is in good condition and the screen isn’t broken.
I'm an Android user since I was born, and I recently bought a used iPhone 15 pro as a secondary phone (my main phone is Samsung A54) out of curiosity and for the USB C! Man, Apple isn't as bad as Android fanboy said it was. I think I'm gonna use the iPhone until it is no longer supported for iOS upgrade.
yea unfortunately because they are "pros" they try to keep the clean professional look and I also think its expensive for them to color titanium like that. White is the only pro color I like. Other than that I prefer the vibrant colors.
It's dead but still looks incredibly modern. If you iphone has dynamic island then everyone around you still will think you have the latest most expensive iphone. The next year upgrades will probably make dynamic island smaller
I’m on a base model iPhone 11 black and I don’t plan up upgrading till I have to or unless this one breaks. If I do upgrade I’m getting the 11 pro max in forest green
Thanks for showing those Apple refurbished 14 Pro's. They are a great deal right now if you are coming from something older. I know this vid is about the 15 pro, but yeahhh
If it works for you.... then it's good. It gets changed because of planned obsolescence. But not to fret, as not many will see this as a must - have upgrade. People are waiting for the 17 next year.
As a bike rider, i have my action button set to video so if there is an emergency, i can easily activate the video and capture whats happening from my handlebars. I prefer it over the new camera button because the camera button is flush with the phone so it’s hard to feel for it. But the action button is sticking out and easy to find by feel so i can eep my eye on the action while still getting my video going.
I'm on a 14 plus and I see no reason for upgrading it. The only thing that I miss is the pro motion display, other than that it serves me more than well
I have a Blue Pro Max, and I'm going to stick with it until the wheels fall off. My battery isnt as good as others, i have 95% battery health with only 210 cycles and it only takes about 4 and a half hours for me to hit 25% and thats been a letdown for me. But aside from paying applecare+ for it, I think im okay with it overall. Good performance, the pictures come out pretty good, the titanium feels good in the hand and like you mentioned, the changes for the 16 Pro series are so small that I have no reason to upgrade
When it hits 80% maximum capacity, you'll get a message that service is needed. That's when you'll wanna make use of appkecare and get that battery replaced.
I chose to get one of these instead of the 16 pro max because I could not be patient enough to wait 7 weeks whilst paying for the phone I wasn't using, and also because for a lot less it wasn't missing anything I wanted anyway. Coming from my 11 with 75% battery health I am gonna need a proper good upgrade to steer me away from this phone
The couple year old 14 pro is a great choice right now having most aesthetic from the latest and greatest. It has the big triple cam and the Dynamic Island which most people might get fooled by it being a 16 pro
What I want to know is if Apple replaced USB 3 with USB C already back in 2019 and they're just last year putting the port on the phones, then how can you expect USB 3 this year? Lol
i was an android user from 2010 till may 2024. I bought iphone 15 pro that after a while i fell in love with. but it has one flaw that i have to live with and its the battery. i want to keep that phone at least 4 years. i think it can hold with one time battery replacement
I have an iPhone 15 Pro Max. All year long I’ve been dealing with it stuttering because it overheats constantly. On Monday the overheating went away and it hasn’t stuttered in about five days. I don’t know if it’s because I updated to iOS 18 or because when I updated I went into the settings menu and reset all the settings to factory defaults. I was seriously considering upgrading phones just so I wouldn’t have to deal with this lemon of a phone but I don’t think I have to anymore. Also, I am at 320 charge cycles and maximum capacity is at 89%.
Great video. Thinking about upgrading from my iPhone 13 Pro Max to the 15 PM. I think it’s a worthy upgrade. My 13 still runs great but I wanna stay updated with the latest tech.
If you’re going to do that you might as well get the 16 pro tbh. A 13 pro to a 15 pro doesn’t seem that crazy but if you can afford it you won’t be disappointed. Just got my 15 pro upgrading from an XR and it was everything I wanted 🙏
In my opinion; the camera button makes things more complex! Using touch controls on big screen is so much more convenient! No 16 Pro Max for me! I still like my 15 Pro Max.
stainless steel wasn't fine to be honest. polished stainless steel scratches extremely easily and there is no way to get rid of them. you could use a 14 pro or any other stainless model, especially the white model, for a week caseless and it would be covered in scratches. stainless is also heavy. titanium is much more scratch resistant and is also lighter than stainless while being a stronger material. the change to titanium was a great move. stronger, lighter, and most importantly much more scratch resistant. our 1,000 phones shouldn't be able to be scratched simply by being put into a case.
I waited until the iPhone 16 line up being unveiled so that I could get the 15 Pro with discount. Why buying an iPhone 15 Pro instead of the new 16 or even 16 Pro? Well, the 15 Pro has more features than the 16 and the 16 Pro isn’t worth it. The only difference is the “camera” button and the colors.. Also, I paid less for the 15 Pro than the 16.

I’m fighting FOMO not getting the 16 Pro Max but when I really thought about it I realized that the 15 Pro Max is still just too good to waste my money on a minor upgrade, especially considering how much I still enjoy using my 13!
Thanks for the video! I have a regular 15 and I’m thinking of upgrading to the 16 Pro. I also think that there isn’t much difference between the 15 Pro and 16 Pro, but there surely is between the 15 and 16 Pro. Like the action button, the capture button, the titanium, the 120hz display, Apple Intelligence, the far better cameras and much else…
you said you didn’t know why they switched to titanium and that it was probably just for marketing, and then praised the weight of the phone a few minutes later.. that’s why it’s titanium
just upgraded from an 11 to a 15 pro max
My 15 pro battery is still on 100% health and ios 18 drains it so fast i have to charge twice a day on 6 hours screen time
Facts its bs. This battery is not good enough.
Watching this on my 15 Pro Max 😅
Facts 😂
Currently on iPhone 13, but I’m getting a almost new iPhone 15 pro max for $500 aud and once I get it I’m using that phone until it’s unusable before I upgrade
Hello Nicolai,
I followed your advice to visit the Bulgarian ambassy in Malaysia, but they didn't sell Luikse Waffles, however they gave me a cup of coffee because it was cold and rainy outside. Next time I'll give them Hollandsche Nieuwe, raw gutted herring with diced onions eaten with bare hands. Vely good 😊😊
Honestly my 15PM has been so good that it’s almost kind of boring. Which is a good thing. Performance, battery life, cameras, and build quality has been all so good that I can focus on more important things in life atm.
I was waiting for the 16 Pro Max but I got the 15 Pro Max for $726 in June. Hard to say no to a huge discount
How??
@@gailenrique2804 it’s 30.25 x 24 months. $55 total including the 50gb 4g plan. Loyalty discount that I kinda had to fight for lol
7:10 The action button is great. You can ad a silent button toggle in shortcuts along with a light toggle to give the button some versatility. Tho you have to select it in a drop down menu. I also have a directions home button. These are my most used automation utility kind of shortcut’s. You can also have your most used apps
I traded in my 11 Pro for an iPhone 15 Pro with a $200 credit four months ago. I saw no need to wait for a 16 Pro, and I have no regrets.
keeping the 13 mini until we get an "18" mini or so *yes, I have a power bank xD
same. I have multiple powerbanks and a magsafe pack. I really only need it when on vacation other than that I get through a day one 1 charge, 2 charges if its a active night.
16 pro arguably has improved on thermal performance which is a pain point for 15 pro, so considering this, is the upgrade tempting enough?
Does it get too hot?
Watching this from my iPhone 15 Pro 💔
In one year of battery usage as a DoorDash driver, I had over 650 cycles, iPhone 15 Pro
Tbh I think Apple should have discontinued the SE and put the 12 or 13 mini in its place
That's actually a really great idea. Having the 13 mini for the $429 price. I've edited this comment three times thinking about this idea lol. But the only downside is they are no longer in production so they won't make more to sell standalone from them
Im still on the iphone X and galaxy S10
Keeping my 15 pro not upgrading this year the features on 16 pro didn’t convince me
I’m going to be upgrading to the 15 Pro in natural titanium.
Thanks for the content.
Are you using MagSafe to charge or just the USB c?
It wasn’t worth it for me I had the iPhone X for years and years before I upgraded too
On a 15 Pro and I really don’t care about the 16 pro at all. Would camera control and the 5x telephoto be nice? Yep, but it’s not worth me upgrading
Why would you make things more complicated, using a camera control button?
I think at some point a smartphone should not be updated yearly, they should just wait a few years until they came up with something major, kinda like cameras or gaming console
You can treat it like that .... get a iphone 15 now.... skip everything for the next 5 years, then wait for iphone 20 to come out.
@@gailenrique2804 from consumer standpoint, yes thats the way. But what im saying is for the company they could innovate better given more time and also save some money for WAY better product in the future
watching this on my 15 plus, will use this phone until it’s no longer usable.
IPhone 14 Pro gang 💪💪
14 pro max 📱
Still got mine! And am keeping it till the 17 or even 18.
The only function of the action button is to piss you off when you have the phone in your pocket and you press it instead of the volume up 😅
I'm an Android user since I was born, and I recently bought a used iPhone 15 pro as a secondary phone (my main phone is Samsung A54) out of curiosity and for the USB C! Man, Apple isn't as bad as Android fanboy said it was. I think I'm gonna use the iPhone until it is no longer supported for iOS upgrade.
The stainless steel on the 14s was much too heavy for me
Love my 15 Pro, although a little concerned that my battery health is already at 94% after a year of use
The thing that bothers me is they seem to always give the base models the best colors and mostly boring colors on the pros
yea unfortunately because they are "pros" they try to keep the clean professional look and I also think its expensive for them to color titanium like that. White is the only pro color I like. Other than that I prefer the vibrant colors.
@@thebest12700the pro models aren't for everyone. Not many want to drop $1000+ on new tech they won't use.
It's dead but still looks incredibly modern. If you iphone has dynamic island then everyone around you still will think you have the latest most expensive iphone. The next year upgrades will probably make dynamic island smaller
I just want usb c and 120 hz.. hopefully the base model iPhone 17s have that
Apple refuses to give base models 120hz screens. But you get usb-c though.
I’m on a base model iPhone 11 black and I don’t plan up upgrading till I have to or unless this one breaks. If I do upgrade I’m getting the 11 pro max in forest green
meanwhile in the Philippines, we're still selling the 11 and 11 pro max sealed and brand new 😂
Thanks for showing those Apple refurbished 14 Pro's. They are a great deal right now if you are coming from something older. I know this vid is about the 15 pro, but yeahhh
I bought 15 pro max 4 months ago life is sad everything gets changed very quick 😢
If it works for you.... then it's good. It gets changed because of planned obsolescence. But not to fret, as not many will see this as a must - have upgrade. People are waiting for the 17 next year.
Upgraded to the iPhone 15 pro last year. Got a good deal trading in my old iPhone 12 from Verizon. Why would I already need a new phone.
What’s a good trust worthy online shop i can buy a refurbished 15 pro max from?
Please do a video on the 14 plus, since it is now twice that people falsely expected that one to die
The couple year old 14 pro is a great choice right now having most aesthetic from the latest and greatest. It has the big triple cam and the Dynamic Island which most people might get fooled by it being a 16 pro
It still has lightning plug. It is capable of running ios 18... but no AI at all. It is also a bit heavier as it has the stainless steel frame.
@@gailenrique2804 You didn’t get the point. I was talking about looks and aesthetics only
What I want to know is if Apple replaced USB 3 with USB C already back in 2019 and they're just last year putting the port on the phones, then how can you expect USB 3 this year? Lol
i was an android user from 2010 till may 2024. I bought iphone 15 pro that after a while i fell in love with. but it has one flaw that i have to live with and its the battery. i want to keep that phone at least 4 years. i think it can hold with one time battery replacement
All these people over 150 cycles already have 95% battery life and you still have 100% with over 200... I guess everybody abuse their phone too much.
Watching thus on my 16 Pro max.
the rumoured iPhone 17 Air will almost certainly be using a silicon-carbon battery to get it thin
This is the phone I’m gonna upgrade to 3 years from now
I have an iPhone 15 Pro Max. Also, I am at 320 charge cycles and maximum capacity is at 89%.
they only discontinued the 15 pro because people would buy this to upgrade instead up upspending for 1 single useless button
The hardware constraint on Apple Intelligence is not the processor but the memory. AI needs 8GB.
Great video. Thinking about upgrading from my iPhone 13 Pro Max to the 15 PM. I think it’s a worthy upgrade. My 13 still runs great but I wanna stay updated with the latest tech.
Absolutely no point in doing that. Hardly any difference day to day use
If you’re going to do that you might as well get the 16 pro tbh. A 13 pro to a 15 pro doesn’t seem that crazy but if you can afford it you won’t be disappointed. Just got my 15 pro upgrading from an XR and it was everything I wanted 🙏
They would know that you don’t have a 16 because you don’t have that annoying notch on the side of your phone in case
On a 15 pro 😭😭 wish I could experience 5x
Why couldn’t they have just kept the ringer switch and just made it programmable. I’d rather have a switch.
Watching this video on my iPhone 13 Pro.
