    I eat blueberries by the pounds almost daily! Sam's Club lady asked me if I'm making jams with it since I'm there every other day walking away 5-6 packages. Our local blueberry farm is about to open their gates for their spring even for "you pick" season. I'm a happy old gal!

    Wild blueberries have less pesticides, but they still need to be organic if you eat a lot of them.
    I contacted a well known Canadian blueberry company and they told me they spot spray their wild blueberries stating they have maggot out breaks like all blueberries are susceptible to.
    If getting them unfrozen it's a MUST you have to clean them thoroughly.
    I only purchase wild frozen and organic otherwise.

    I have been taking Warfarin for several years to reduce the chance of stroke. I started eating blue berries regularly about 1 year ago. Have recently come across these articles noting the downside of eating berries if you take Warfarin. My heart doctor has my blood checked every 3 weeks. So far no variating of any consequences in my heart blood clotting rate. My heart doctor said that since there is no reaction to my blood thinning then no expressed concern with eating blueberries on a regular basis.

    I’ve been eating frozen blueberries but I’ve come to the realization that they just aren’t tasty. They are not sweet and they are dry and crunchy. I think they have been freeze dried and then sold as “frozen”. I hope they are still nutritious. Does anyone have information on this?

    Scare tactics- eat organic or wash them in dilute vinegar to remove pesticides. As for Vitamin K - recommended intake is 100-300 mcg/day. 100 gm of blueberries contains about 20 mcg of Vitamin K, 100 gm of broccoli or Brussels sprouts contain over 100 mcg of Vitamin K. I don’t see any risk.

    • @christopherrobin1
      @christopherrobin1 Месяц назад

      No, you did not, sorry about that, your info was quite positive. However, the words ‘to minimize risk’ suggests a risk from pesticides on organic fruit which, by definition, is pesticide-free. Washing in water removes dirt, washing in dilute white vinegar removes pesticides.

      As the creator of this content, can I disagree too? I mean, I appreciate your feedback because it's true, there are many con artists on the Internet and also, people can misunderstand a lot of info. I'm not claiming that blueberries are a panacea, but I'm noticing their health benefits. Like I'm not saying "only eat blueberries and nothing else" I'm just saying, "hey, here's a good food with some great benefits that would fit well into a varied diet."

      No. They don’t cause blood clots. But you shouldn’t eat them if you’re on blood thinners as they can cause your blood to not be able to clot.

      They contain K1 that promotes normal clotting function in your blood. The video said it may interfere with blood thinning medicine. You will not get blood clots from blueberries. If you get a blood clot it will definitely be from something else.
