I am Lebanese and in Lebanon, we soak our almonds and walnuts. We do not eat the skins on the almonds and after soaking the skins peel off easily. Also, we prefer having a nice crunch. And refreshing taste rather than a dry and dusty texture. Try it you’re welcome. 😊

Pistachio is my favorite nut. I like pecans a lot, but since they contain lectin, I’ll avoid them. Walnuts are a superfood, no doubt; but, besides using them for pesto (i.e., as a substitute for pine nuts), I don’t really like their taste. Dr G, what are some of the lectin-free, nutrient-packed tropical nuts? Cashews and peanuts (or groundnuts) are widespread. It is difficult finding an assortment of healthy nuts. Dr G, you left out coconut! I’m sure you will give it an A-not an S-because of its saturated fat content

Pumpkin seeds are considered beneficial for human health, particularly in their role as a natural remedy against parasites. Here’s how they work:
    1. Anti-Parasitic Properties
Cucurbitacin: Pumpkin seeds contain a compound called cucurbitacin, which is believed to paralyze parasites, particularly intestinal worms like tapeworms and roundworms. This paralysis prevents the worms from holding onto the walls of the intestines, allowing them to be expelled from the body during bowel movements.
Fiber Content: The high fiber content in pumpkin seeds helps promote regular bowel movements, which may aid in the expulsion of parasites.
    2. Nutrient-Rich
Zinc and Magnesium: Pumpkin seeds are rich in zinc and magnesium, which are essential for immune function. A stronger immune system can help the body fight off parasitic infections more effectively.
Antioxidants: They also contain antioxidants like vitamin E and other phytonutrients that support overall health and may help protect against infections.
    3. Other Health Benefits
Heart Health: The healthy fats, fiber, and antioxidants in pumpkin seeds support cardiovascular health.
Blood Sugar Regulation: They may help regulate blood sugar levels, thanks to their low glycemic index and magnesium content.
Prostate Health: Pumpkin seeds are often recommended for supporting prostate health due to their high zinc content.

Right! I've heard walnuts and almonds are great for your health and then someone else will say there's a study that says they are bad for you. I give up, I'm just gonna eat whatever I want because no matter what you eat it will be good or bad depending the 'expert'.

    • @ironiedusort

Not everyone is affected in the same way which is why about lectins he said "some" people. Some people are also affected by high oxylate foods and others are not. This info does not apply to everyone. For someone with excellent gut health and a cast iron stomach they don't have to worry as much as someone with food sensitivities/intolerances/allergies or inflammation.

Watermelon seed popular in china, is highly nutritious and can be diuretic when consumed in excess of.. add powdered seeds to smoothies or. Yogurt… They are a rich source of vitamins, proteins, omega 6 and omega 3 fatty acids, zinc, magnesium, copper, iron, potassium, and more. Watermelon seeds are high in calories, so you should eat them in moderation - one cup of roasted watermelon seeds contains about 600 calories.

Flax are full of phytoestrogens. I wouldn’t be eating those if I value my testosterone levels.
