I just got into RT after seeing him in Nashville from the front row recently. Wow! This guy has it all-great guitar, great voice and fantastic lyrics! He is must see if you get a chance!
@marvy1118 It was covered on "Adieu False Heart" by Linda Ronstadt and Ann Savoy. That started me searching and the hits on Dimming of the Day sealed it. Richard Thompson is a great musician.
@marvy1118 I think that there were at least 2 songs on Mock Tudor that would have lent themselves well as a covers, this song and Cooks Ferry Queen. I would have liked to have heard the old Crowded House cover Bathsheba Smiles, and I wish the late Johnny Cash could have gotten his hands on Cooks Ferry Queen...a healthy Cash with a good chugging band...I think both would have worked.
Richard never disappoints.
It's a shame this has such a low view.... what a treasure!
A great song! Thanks for posting.
One of my musical heroes for sure!

I can't believe no one has done a cover version of this song yet!
Such a unique artist.
He is just SOOOOOO cute when he cuts those eyes to the side - I mean puppy dog adorable
