Feelin' That Way/Anytime has always been my "most favorite" song, and I love how it evolved from this song. I can't say I love this version, but I don't hate it. When Perry came on board and re-worked it, he did something magical and made it the classic it is today.
I always loved Gregg's voice. Even when he was in Santana. I also loved it when he and Steve sang together, which wasn't often. Shame. They really sang good together, in my opinion.
This Song Is So Rare That It's Not Even On The Infinity Demos Which I Have .I Found It On Another Demo Not To Long Ago .This Is The Uncut Full Version Of The Original That Gregg Rolie Actually Renamed The Song "Let Me Stay" .A Much Shorter Version Is Included On Time 3 !!!
WOW! I never heard this at all! I agree...thank GOD they found Steve Perry...LOL You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear! I'm so blown away with the difference...the sheer majesty that comes out of the Perry version...doesn't matter if this is a demo...doesn't matter if it's got the other vocalist...doesn't matter if the words are different...or the progressions different...the difference is Steve...
Opened my eyes to a new kind of way All of the good times that you saved Are you feelin', you feelin' that way too Or am I just Am I just your fool? Please let me stay Just another day Please let me stay A new road's waiting, you judged my life, whoa Soft and warm on a summer's night You're the only one, I told you, the only one I love The lovely one (the lovely one) I'm thinking of Please let me stay Just another day Please let me stay Please let me stay Just another day Please let me stay (repeat)
This is a great version, I love the official cut from "Infinity" I have Journeys forst two Columbia recording on both vinyl and CD, I wonder if this cut was recorded in either 1975 or 76?
Cool version! it's way more "jam"my, though. Aw I think Journey was always good, then Steve came and just freakin' exploded them into "Unbelievable Amazing Omgosh You're So Greatness"
Even with the great vocals of Robert Fleischman going on here, you can easily tell how Perry's influence steered the band in its needed direction. BTW, Fleischman was awesome in 'All For You'....
@@Br00tz966 Wow, I made that comment 8 years ago! Yes, Rollie is great, but the finished product polished his voice. And, having Steve sing with him makes it that much better. It's still a good song here, just an unpolished demo.

My favorite part of this song is when Steve takes over the vocals. The 2 different styles of voices and techniques.. pretty cool.
Gregg Rolie is a great musician, i love his keys
I believe this song's proper title is "Let Me Stay". "Velvet Curtain" was a working title that was used when the song was an instrumental.
This song is listed as Velvet Curtain on the "Time" box set. Although the complete song wasn't featured, it did have the vocals.

Been looking for this for ages. Extremely rare, and I don't understand why.
Chris Pawelski It Was Never Released Because Remember They Changed The Lyrics And Title When Steve Perry Came Aboard As "Feeling That Way" !!!
Thanks for posting! from a Journey fan in London.
I’ve been a Journey fan for 44 years and I’ve never heard this version of this song. Steve Perry did great things for the song.
Pretty sure it was one the Time3 set
Yeah, he certainly did. This version is very meh. Steve infused soul and made this tune into my favorite journey song.
No picture of Aynsley? Steve Smith wasn't in the band at this point.
That picture is from 1980 from the live album Captured
gregg rolie has a great voice nice duet with steveperry

Greg was still the lead in feeling that way, Steve just had the chorus. I think the majic was in the refined composition. Also done by Greg.
fantastic! Thank You!
Thank God they found Steve Perry.
If they didn't we would not know who journey was lol.
@@rickchyczewski576maybe you wouldn't.

Wow, the finished version is so much better. The chorus is really bad here.
Not horrible, it's just not as impressive as the finished version. Rollie has a great voice.
