hey fred - long time listener, first time caller.
i think it makes sense to back out single barrels from whiskey if the year - but in doing so you have yourself an opportunity. you can do a single barrel yearly competition for
the kok, john j bowman, four roses single barrels, blantons etc.

Great review of a bottle that is way over my cap. So even if I see it here in Ohio it’ll sit for someone else to pick it up. Which I’m okay with I have a limit and regardless of what it is if it’s over that I don’t need it. I saw other reviews of the WLW and they put it first out of the BTAC line up just shows how varied one’s palate can be. I’m hoping for a Thomas Handy personally but I’d stand a better chance of becoming an astronaut that gets struck by lightning while buying lottery tickets that win than getting a bottle of that. Enjoy!!

I remember a time when KoK was terrible. I could never get past that when considering a bottle in the past. I haven't even seen one the past couple of years. Seems I missed the boat on this one. It's a shame. I rather enjoy many of Brown Foremans premium offerings.
Do you mean when the brand was a bottom shelfer? I don’t think there has been a bad year since the brand was resurrected in 2018. I have heard of bad bottles, but not bad years.
Hilarious how you mention you rather have this @ $2000 than a $2000 Scotch, then procede to call out an Oloroso Sherry note (some of the best Scotches are aged in Oloroso Sherry barrels) 😂😂😂

OK, I don't see how you can get actual rankings for that many bourbons. 370 tastings n 23 days means every single day you have to taste 16 bourbons.
Someone already conmented on “finish” and I am wondering if you are less into finish.
I started watching bourbon reviews 2 yrs ago and what I could always depend on from you was heavily weighting “finish.”
It seems not so much now….

Ive definitely been blessed to have good friends and family in the Bourbon Community. Trying some bourbons and ryes Some may never try. Not even gonna name drop a single drop. But I literally know NO one. Who has snagged one of these.

I got three bottles of last years, all from the same barrel funnily enough even though I got them all several months apart. Hoping I can find one this year. Never found a bourbon that smells better.
