Just stumbled across your channel and really enjoy it! I'm surprised Dickel BiB didn't make the list, $39 most places here in TX, but maybe not the case in other states? Keep up the great work!
I have 4 of the top 6 so far. Just started whisky/whiskey journey a couple months ago. Loving the trip so far and not needing to break the bank is a big help. Excellent video!
Great list. I have bottles of all the top 10 and most of the top 25. Glad to see Rowan’s Creek made the list. I have liked it for a while. Need to pick up some 1792, but will probably get the BIB or Full Proof. Still hard to believe EW BIB is only $15 per bottle and Early Times BIB is $22 for a 1 liter bottle. Love your channel. (Catching up on some of your older videos)
Great video Fred. There are so many great bourbons out there that will not cost you an arm and a leg. I always love your You tube videos. Look forward to your blind tasting for this top 10.
Just cracked a Cooper's craft I picked up in Kentucky, never seen it here in Texas. And wow it might very well be in my top 3 favorite bourbons overall!! That stuff was amazingly good!! Wish we had it here in Texas
I heard it said that if a bourbon, whiskey cannot be replaced on the shelf as soon as it gone it’s now being considered allocated. Do you have a similar understand?
allocated is an actual procedure in the business that are set in states. For example, California is an allocation state that the distillery dictates how much they get. Distributors then divvy product out, per their allocation formulas. Stagg is allocated. Evan Williams Bottled in Bond is not. In other words, when Stagg shows up, they do their formula or however they do it. When Evan Williams shows up, they just say: Who wants it? That's the best way i can explain it. Hope it helps.
Bourbon is allocated in Ohio and I believe that means the state determines the distribution. Certain stores get Buffalo Trace, others get Weller, these ones get 1792, etc. Evan Williams BIB is available in every store. Regardless, you always pay MSRP, even on the really hard to find stuff.
great list. one note, WT 101 is not 38.99. It is usually 28 or less, right? Also I have yet to see JTS Brown in any store (10 stores checked) here in savannah GA.
Error at 13:04, the graphics show Wild Turkey 101 at $38.99. Looks like you posted the 1.75L price. Which is still under $40 and why not get the big boy.
Glad to see I currently own all of the top 10 and will be doing a blind taste-a-long during your live stream. It should be a lot of fun. WT 101 has done very well in my blind tastings in the past against some very high priced bourbons. Should be interesting. Thanks for doing this Fred.
All ABC States allocate Buffalo Trace if you go to a non ABC state you probably won't be able to take two steps without tripping over a bottle. I think buffalo trace has a contract with State ABC boards where every one of their products has to be allocated.
@@FredMinnick Absolutely agree with you on the Evan Williams Single Barrel. That was the bourbon that opened my eyes when I was 21 that there was other stuff out there other than and better than Jack Daniels and Jim Beam. That was before I knew anything about whiskey. Lol. But my journey had just begun. After all these years I still love the EVSB. I always have a bottle of that in my collection.
Good one, Fred! We need a refresh list of this every year or so. If you did one at $50, John J. Bowman would be at the top of my list. The old store pick Knob Creek 14+ year bottles that were available a couple years ago, would not be beat anywhere for 40-45. Those days are gone sadly.

Crazy you say that was in Texas few weeks back 2 spots had weller. 107 and 12 year were in high allocated price. Special reserve was 32 bucks grabbed 2 bottles.
Good list. However total wines costs are higher than what I see in missouri / kansas. So some have been left off the list that are normally $40 or less. Nice to be surprised by low price when I go to buy so that’s a great thing!
Nice to know at least some are available here such as WT101 and Evans Bib 100 both at $36 and Knob Creek 9 at $51, all before tax of course. Also Russell's 10 at $51 as well.
Well this was a public vote and more people have drank things like a wild turkey and Buffalo Trace than Cooper's. If they get more people to try it it will start climbing rankings.
Here in NW Florida regular buffalo trace is difficult to find. I got a bottle recently for 24 dollars. I have a lot of or have in the past the top 10. Great list. Glad Jefferson very small batch didn’t make the list. The one and only bottle I ever had of it was terrible, not sure if was a bad batch or not. Not buying it again to find out.
It probably wasn't included because it's too new since they changed the proof to get a lot of votes but on the other hand 4 proof isn't really enough to make a difference I don't even know why they bothered changing the proof unless it was just marketing.

I am not sure about OGD114 but will have to check for that one. WT101 is good bourbon but IMO BT, ECSM, Woodford Reserve, 1792 SB, EWBIB, Buillett 10 yr, and Buillet are all better. I have yet to see the #1 on the shelves here.
Great list. Looking forward to March 18th! Have to say, I am gratified and not at all surprised to see Evan Williams BiB in the top 10. Such a great whiskey punching far above its SRP. I buy 1.75L bottles on the regular. It is my #1 go-to when making boulevardiers.
Interesting. I always wondered why Wild Turkey 101 is so widely available for how solid it is. I was previously unaware that the brand had a perception issue with certain consumers. I would like to hear more of the story.
Heaven Hill Bottled in Bond at $40.99 should’ve been considered IMO. TW sells at that price in South FL market. Maybe it missed on a certain criteria?
